  1. How can you play so lethargic and shoot so poorly on your home court?
  2. No question the seeding was screwed up and had an agenda.
  3. http://www.amazon.com/Primos-Hunting-Calls-352-Power/dp/B000E44K08 You'll either love this or hate it
  4. Tailgating would be helped a lot if UND started caring more about it. There are too many spots that are "reserved" but never get used which leaves huge gaps in the tailgating area and makes it tough to socialize. It should be use it or lose it. Also not really sure how having site reservations helps - do away from reservations and have it pay as you go - those that are hard core will get the spot they want anyway. They could still sell season passes for tailgating it just wouldn't be for a specific spot. Also they should start some kind of tradition to have an alert when the team is arriving (a screaming hawk over a PA system) so everyone drops everything and heads over to the welcome line. Too many times the team had arrived and those who are farthest away had no clue.
  5. One example of how they are protecting these logos, although based on what you can find on the Internet it doesn't appear like UND is able to stop the flow of Fighting Sioux logo items being made and sold.
  6. Definitely talent and individual confidence on this team - hope they can put together some complete games and surprise the Big Sky.
  7. You seem disappointed? This year rebounding is looking good, offense has good ball movement and lots of slashing to the basket. However we continue to lose or make games too close due to poor free throw shooting. I blame the coaching.
  8. Not sure if that is an accurate measure. I watched the game on Internet never gave a thought about posting. Once again this game was lost at the free throw line.
  9. Unfortunately time is skewing the truth about this vote. This vote was not "Vote Yes because you don't like the Fighting Sioux logo and want to get something different". The vote was "Vote yes because if you don't UND won't get into the Big Sky, scheduling will become difficult, UND will be sanctioned by the NCAA, players will stop coming here etc". it was not a level plateau.
  10. Rather than "Drop" I would just say "Ignore". Perhaps UND will get the hint and use the name only as much as is needed. It's not like sales of merchandise is ever going to amount to much after the initial purchases are made. The reason people have a closet full of Fighting Sioux clothing is because of the logo. I don't see much hope of anyone wanting a closet full of Fighting Hawk clothing.
  11. Difference of opinion - I would say that posting a player's name without proof and in pure speculation as a possible flight risk is questioning his character.
  12. So what are UND fans supposed to do pack up their Sioux clothing and bury it in the backyard? How do you connect a person wearing Sioux clothing with them being unaccepting of the new name - that is quite a stretch. The logo was the highest selling college logo in the US for many years - because people liked how it looked. Who is going to send out the message that you now look foolish for wearing this logo?
  13. Wow and you get to say that you have inside sources and got to post it first!
  14. So you don't think students read here? How would you like it if someone walked up to you at work and said "I hear you are leaving" and it wasn't true or even if you were thinking about it would you want someone sharing that rumor about you. So now you're a college student athlete, you're on the fence and someone walks up and says. "Hey I heard you are leaving the team". From what little I view on other fan sites the discussions and interest isn't about who might leave, but about who might come. Yup it's a free country, you can post what you want, we don't have to read these threads, but the question is "what value are they to supporting UND programs?".
  15. Communicated with the owners - I wish them the best - just another example that anyone who thinks the Sioux name is going to simply disappear from the area anytime soon is mistaken.
  16. I'm a little disappointed in the blatant copying of designs from siouxpride.com
  17. The game was not played for UNDs sake - Bubba stepped up and took the offer SU offered that SU thought UND wouldn't take. In a true sign of character he did it for the good of the state and its residents the majority of which wanted the game to be played.
  18. Sadly there are plenty of examples of talented kids that just couldn't stay out of trouble - hope this is something he learns from.
  19. Thanks for the clarification. Looking back it appears this thread was started because someone mis-interpreted that we are recruiting 5 OLs next year into the fear that we are losing an OL.
  20. So what about my question "Why you think it would be fun/interesting/valuable/productive/supportive to list names of players who have chosen UND, worked hard for UND, made a commitment to UND but because of a "bad feeling" they get named on a fan site as possible flight risks thus questioning their dedication."
  21. This thread should die and be buried. I have more respect for the coaching staff and team then to create rumors about players leaving.
  22. Just wondering what makes you think it isn't being addressed? Really hope he gets it together love watching him on the court and he could be a part of a very good team over the next three years.
  23. Why would I want to have a conversation about what players "might" leave the team when we could have a conversation about so many other positive things about this team? I'd like to hear from you why you think it would be fun/interesting/valuable/productive/supportive to list names of players who have chosen UND, worked hard for UND, made a commitment to UND but because of a "feeling" they get named on a fan site as possible flight risks thus questioning their dedication. Perhaps your goal is to be able to say "I told you so" if so that's pretty weak as players leave teams every year at all levels - it's part of the growing up process.
  24. I realize you probably weren't connected at the time the decision was made. There has been a lot of revisionist history created about the situation at the time. Bottom line was that SU chose to move up a level which included more scholarships, higher level of recruit plus DII teams were penalized for playing teams up a level. After leaving behind a 10 year domination by UND of course SU wanted to continue the game - they now had more scholarships and were recruiting DI athletes. Based on the penalty and the unlevel playing field UND chose not to schedule but the reality is it was SU that made the decision that led to the end of the game being played. (I am sure the hovering trolls will be quick to post a different mindset but it is what it is.)
