  1. You forgot to thank The Flagship University of North Dakota for stepping up and making this game happen at a time a few years ago when SU administration was still sitting in the corner with their hands folded vowing that the game would never happen on their watch. Still wonder what drives SU fans to take the time to come here when they have so much to talk about on their own board. Oh I forgot it's that you add such great outside opinions to the conversation.
  2. It was a joke - how many times have we faced a back-up quarterback, sometimes even third string and seen them have a an all conference player type game - it happens almost annually.
  3. Not to wish anything bad on Kett but maybe it's our turn to have a back-up quarterback turn into an all conference performer.
  4. Shakey's Pizza closing a few years ago might also have something to do with the weight loss.
  5. SCSU is struggling mightily with enrollment and thus funding, this will have a domino affect on the quality of education at the school but at least the women's hockey team will have their own sauna. More likely than an investment in women's athletics there will be cuts on men's programs to reach the equity

    2019 Season

Sorry my intent was not to suggest that UND has no chance - I have been around for more than 30 of these battles and the favored teams didn't always win - one bounce of the ball, one player making a key play is all it takes sometimes.

    2019 Season

The irony is that Bubba insisted on scheduling SU on the road (instead of a cupcake) for the good of the state and that game could likely cost the team the playoffs and his job. Fortunately there are at least 7 wins in this schedule.
  8. Code Red Jan Brady Mode.
  9. Regarding the Jan Brady reference, here is what it means: despite SU having among the best football programs in the country some SU fans find the need to monitor UND's fan site and make sure that nothing said by their fans goes unchallenged. They are oblivious to the fact that by nature a school's fan site is going to have comments that are optimistic, and in some cases unsubstantiated. That we as fans are allowed to be positive about our team, and that a fan site exists to provide fans of that school with a place to enjoy discussion and share thoughts. These "Jan Bradys" feel the need to challenge nearly every comment and continual try to downgrade UND because they subconsciously have an inferiority complex (oh and they hate it when that truth is pointed out - which they are proving just by being here constantly). It also kills them that UND is and always will be the Flagship University of the state. History has shown that Sioux Sports has an abundance of SU fans who hover and/or comment on our fan site - in their mind to just "add to the discussion". But it is seldom a discussion and almost always the need to question our natural optimism or create topic drift or UND bash. So when we see someone new join the discussion and it is quite obvious that another SU fan feels the need to "state facts" excuse us for rolling our eyes and not rolling out the welcome mat (by the way it's been shared here that Bison-Swille doesn't allow non-fans to join and "share facts" that question "the herd". I can't verify that because I never go there I have no interest in SU sports and do not feel the need to waste time on something that does not interest me. Hope that clears things up.
  10. Just another Jan Brady come to visit.
  11. Geez I hope they change/improve whatever the last committee used to research and hire Kennedy.

I have a feeling that Beaumont's comments are going to show up just as much on Bison-swille as here . Love the passion we will be cheering double loud for your son.
  14. I think OL recruits are relating to the enthusiasm and passion of our new offensive line coach.

What you are missing is that twice there are three weeks between home games, that just creates a gap for keeping the casual fans interest.

I can find 7 wins in our schedule, finding 8 wins is tough.

    2019 Season

This year's home game schedule is wacked, you can predict that attendance will go down (although having the sixth home game could help - although that sixth game is November 23rd so the weather and the start of UND hockey will probably negate that. Only two home games during the nicest weather of August-September and two home games in late November? That basically means two games with mostly hard-core tailgaters - no casual fan is going to buy a one-game tailgate pass in November. Plus once hockey season starts walk-up attendance will take a hit - people only have so many dollars to spend. I get the "Just win and they will come" mantra but the reality is this year's schedule is not very casual fan friendly. Is it because we are basically an independent and had to take what we can get?
  18. Higher salaries for staff was probably part of the hiring negotiations.
  19. Dom is also the one who did a hot take on "Why are all the UND coaches leaving" with no insights into both coaches going back to their home states and alluding to being willing to give up head coaching time comittment for wanting more time with family. JK is the one who seems trigger happy to tweet about bad news at UND>
  20. Fargo media seems to be concerned about our student-athletes so I wonder how long it will take them to tweet about this?
  21. Yes, yes, yes! The bottom line is you are committing to a place that will provide you with a great education, life experience, team mates - it's the program, not a coach. Lots of respect for a kid who takes a look around and realizes this.
  22. It is like the trash can, every so often you have to clean it out.
  23. It's not like it's in the middle of the season - the guy was just hired last week. History has shown there will be plenty of access.

    The Herald

Swimsuit issue is also more enjoyable in print. Regarding print magazines going digital Money Magazine just announced that they are no longer printing the magazine, they gave out two addresses to a blog and website that will be taking its place, not sure how that is going to work as far as my subscription.
  25. Has the hawk logo ever been worn by a hockey coach on the UND bench? Karl might be the guy to start that.
