  1. Laramie is pretty far from Casper, but you can stop on the way up or down. It is nice. I always make sure I drive through Wyoming on my way to North Dakota. I enjoy going up through the Black HIlls then north through Bell Fourche.
  2. Do you know what is really fun to think about. Wyoming, a low end FBS program can buy a guy like Bohl. Why? Because even a low end FBS program can buy subdivision champion coaches. Kind of puts those "championships" into perspective, doesn't it? (Hey, if you want to see that soccer stadium fill up, wait until team America out of DF comes to play FCS Dallas!)
  3. Yup. 62-45-3. Gee, you'd think they 'd want to chip away at that lead with their strong team right now? Also, FBS programs don't care about subdivision championships. Wyoming has been to and won many bowl games. (I hope we get to call them "Bohl Games" in the near future.) They've won 100's of games at the highest level of college football. The University of Agriculture and Applied Science has won...7. Whoop de frickin' do! UW bought Coach Bohl. FU couldn't afford to keep him. That's what FBS schools do. Because of $$$ and tradition. They have both in spades over FU. Enjoy the subdivision championship you'll win on that soccer field. It may be awhile before you get another subdivision championship banner. BTW, did that last one end up in Fargo or Grand Forks?
  4. Absolutely. That's a tradition at UW. Usually to Nebraska. Why? They pay more. They have more tradition. You see, that's the way it works in the real world. Nebraska>Wyoming>the University of Agriculture and Applied Science. But, don't fool yourself. They'll run him out on a rail if he doesn't succeed. FCS sub division championships do not guarantee success at the FBS level. Two words: Joe Glenn. Yeah, he had subdivision championships also. Now, he's back at the subdivision.
  5. I'll be there at War Memorial. You guys should come down. Laramie is a nice college town and the stadium is old, but nice. You'll be treated well in Laramie. I'll cheer UND. Gotta go with the undergrad school. Plus, raised in North Dakota...so gotta pull for your roots. My turn to go into the Cowboy Joe tent with the opponents gear on!
  6. Big question for the Pokes is if Brett Smith, the star QB and easily the best player on offense will come back for his senior year. They have a QB in the wings that is said to have a stronger arm than Smith. Smith was mismanaged this past year. Pokes need a couple of good RB's, lineman, and good linebackers. More importantly, they need good coaching. This next year will be interesting for both UND and Wyoming.
  7. As far as I'm concerned, they can wait until Bubba a couple of recruiting classes behind him. Then sign an agreement for a home and home. Work it out from there.
  8. My graduate school is the University of Wyoming. Do you know why Bohl left the University of Agriculture and Applied Science? Let me give you over a MILLION reasons...all in the form of dollar signs. The sheep shearers at the ag school may think they are FBS. But, they are FCS. A lower division with fewer resources. Bohl was bought by UW because...they can. I hope he steals every single FBS level player even thinking of going to FU! I don't know why I even say "I hope"? He's a Cowboy now. He just will. Because..he can!
  9. They sell out no matter who they play in non-conference. If they can keep that going, why sign a home and home when they can keep 7 home dates every year with sellouts? A side benefit...recruiting. By not playing, or acknowledging the other FCS school in the state, they feel they keep a recruiting advantage. It wouldn't surprise me if they didn't sign a contract until they see their attendance slip and/or UND improves and becomes more of a threat in recruiting. In the meantime, I encourage The University of Wyoming Coach, Craig Bohl, to poach as many University of Agriculture and Applied Science potential players that can play at the FBS level. You get 'em Mr. Clean!
  10. I believe I will start my evil vindictive laugh now... Oh, I forgot! Go Pokes! Go UND!
  11. Five wins. Closer losses. Discipline on the sideline. Guidance from an experienced and skilled coaching staff. Recruit. Build from there. Good luck, Bubba! Go get 'em!
  12. I doubt that would be enough. I see a lot of quilt raffles from the College of Home Economics on the campus of the University of Agriculture and Science.
  13. I think it's all good. As long as the fine folks at the Alerus alerted Best Buy that the University of Agriculture and Applied Science's football team is in town.
  14. Shouldn't they be practicing on a soccer field like the one in Frisco?
  15. I think it's pretty obvious that the MVC with the University of Agriculture and Applied Science in it is the best of the two conferences right now. But, that will change in the future and then change again. Both are top obviously FCS conferences. With that said, UND is in a good position being in the Big Sky Conference, which is not a football conference only. Should have been there years ago.
  16. Go Sioux! And...go Bears. Beat the Pack!
  17. Just speculation. In order to get a more qualified coach, more $$$ may have needed to be paid. Maybe the alumni ponying up the $$$ for the contract wanted Bubba because of familiarity. Again, speculation. On the other hand, if Bubba did get more money for assistants, that may bode well for UND Football. Nothing against Bubba, I want UND to succeed at the FCS level. But, count me as a skeptic. Like Sic, I hope he proves me wrong.
  18. Meet the new boss. Same as the old boss. I wish Bubba well, but c'mon! We all know he was the safe, cheaper option.
  19. The attendance at this game will be horrible. 2:00 Mountain Time. Not only is it during Christmas break for UNC, but it's right when the Broncos are playing for home field through the playoffs. *IF* enough local UND fans show up, the sparse crowd could turn in UND's favor. Not sure how much of a factor that would be, but UNC is a good Big Sky team and we could use any advantage we can get. I'm going with a friend who graduated from UNC. So, I promise to gag him before the game to give us a +1 advantage...

    2013 Playoffs

They'll reload to a point. You're right though, they're going to miss those players. With them, they're going to roll whoever they play in the championship game. For some reason I had it in my head that the FU players with elegibility left could transfer to Wyoming without sitting out a year. Obviously, they can't. Luckily for FU, I'm not in charge of NCAA regulations.

You're playing Pete Townsend for the national championship? I know he's English. Is that why they play that game on a soccer field? Stay away from the sidelines. He's bound to smash a guitar or two. I wouldn't want any fans fo the University of Agriculture and Applied Science's to get hit by shards of wood and fiberglass.
  22. You're getting closer to accepting the "Screaming Weasels!" Just a few more steps, and you're there!
  23. Agree. UND is the flagship university in the state. D-II is not an option. It's an embarrassment to be there or to return.
  24. Like I said before, I hope you guy in the Bubba or DeBoer corners are right. Paint me skeptical. But, I'm horrible at picking games and my fantasy football team went straight to Hell this year, even with Peyton Manning at QB. So, what the Hell do I know!??!!
