It might turn into a bidding war between Bohl and the U of AAS for their best assistant. I would guess that Bohl can probably outbid the AAS, but would that assistant rather take the HC job as their stepping stone? The U of AAS could remain a powerful FCS program even with Bohl gone. He made a strong foundation for his successor.
-
No worries. Their defense absolutely dismantled CSU last year. Not sure if you know, but U of Wyoming's biggest rival is CSU. They hate them. That win HAD to impress Tom Burman, the AD at Wyoming.
-
I would imagine the impending graduation (well, loss of eligibility) for his many seniors that have carried the FCS team to these championships probably has a lot to do with it also. Honestly, this AAS team may be the best FCS football team ever. You can only go downhill from that.

Excellent. UW needs to put up or shut up in the MWC. With CSU building that new stadium, Boise State and SDSU (San Diego, folks) staying, winning a conference title isn't as easy as it was in the days of Sonny Lubick. Private plane? That's a good idea. Joe Glenn was once asked how to recruit players for UW. He said to bring them in when it was dark and get them out before the sun came out! Personally, I like Laramie, but for someone from the suburbs or a city, it looks pretty desolate from the edge of town...

16-13 Wyoming won. NDSU didn't beat them. That was Joe Glenn's last year at UW. But, point taken. UW is not a destination point for many coaches. I doubt that Bohl is thinking of retiring in Laramie.
-
I agree. If they have a candidate in mind, they might want to pull the trigger. Time to shake up things with college football in North Dakota!
-
Remember, the "N" stands for *k*nowledge....

It's a stepping stone. Yeah, he won at the FCS level. But, to make the big, big, big $$$ at an FCS school, they want proof of success at FBS. 18 returning starters, an excellent scoring offense...but a defense that is in shambles. If he can turn that around and make a bowl game next year..and Pelini falters once again... hmmmmm... Nebraska likes to hire Wyoming coaches...
-
Not bad looking cheerleaders in Laramie either: ...just sayin'
-
What is this I read about the University of Agriculture and Applied Science fans believing that Wyoming is going to the Big 12 and that's why Bohl is coaching the Cowboys? Jeez. Fat, drunk and stupid is no way to go through life. Especially in Fargo.
-
He'll take his staff with the assistants raises promised at UW. Gotta remember, Nebraska has a history of taking Wyoming coaches. I see a move out east in a few short years. Maybe sooner if Pelini doesn't survive this next year. Whatever UW pays, the Nebraska alumni would easily pick up the buyout.

They were cowboy ready!
-
That story would easily top this one!
-
Just a short drive to Laramie from Cheyenne. Cheyenne has a larger airport.
-
Doesn't he have to escape from one first?
-
Yup. It's as if Bohl took his players to an alley and beat them into unconsciousness. Then pulled his pants down and waived his junk at them. Then forged their signatures on a document. Then went to Best Buy and stole their iPads....
-
He'll make over $1,000,000.....vs. $200,000. Definitely not a lateral move.
-
18 returning starters. If he can fix that defense, the offense can light it up. He could do well in the MWC for a year, maybe two, before Bo gets the axe.
-
Hope it's true. That'll put a big ol' smile on Pistol Pete's face!
-
Thank you for your input Coach Pflugrad! Actually, I think you make good points, Griz. I'm kinda pulling for the guy.
-
Joe Glenn. He coached Wyoming in 2008, and they beat NDSU! Gotta get him away from the Coyotes!
-
I don't know if this is realistic, but we REALLY need a sweep this weekend. Gotta pray to the Hockey Gods...
-
I"ve been reading posts on Wyonation. There is talk there of Bohl going to UW. I doubt it. As much as I'd like to see him go to dear ol' UW, I think Bohl could punch a ticket at an FCS school if (more like when...) the AC wins their third straight FCS title.
-
Five wins... closer games....better disciplined players on and off the field... loss of some players-don't let the door hit you in the a$$ on the way out.. More pride in the program is the overall goal. To win every game will and shall be the goal of the team taking the field.

That's a going rate in the MWC. The CSU coach makes over a million also. Despite what the sheep shearers at the University of Agriculture and Applied Science believe, FBS is a whole different level.
