NDSU has never won a team sports championship at the highest level of college sports. FCS is Division 1 in name only. The FBS schools are the highest level of college football. UND has done it 7 times in Division 1 hockey. That is the highest level of college hockey. . That is a fact. Congratulations to NDSU on their championship. I hope UND wins the FCS soon. But, it is what it is.

I'd put North Dakota up with Michigan as the two top programs. Denver is a close third. It drops off from there. However, if you look at Michigan's titles, 7 of them came with the WCHA. All the other schools: WCHA! A little conference pride, eh?

You're right there, WyoBison (the last post I will probably ever use the Bison name...for in 2012 I will quit using it..just for fun!) I have a feeling it will make the ballot. However, hopefully the voters will see it for what it is and vote it down. i do hope that the SL Tribe wins their suit against the arrogant NCAA!

They aren't rescinding the offer. As long as UND and the state goes along with the name change, it's good. However, that petition drive could be a problem. But, we will have to wait and see what happens.

I was surprised to see they had 8 players drafted by the NHL. If they have a good level of talent on all lines, this could be a closer series than anticipated.

Nope. It's because (because of what what stated on this site) the Bison secondary is slow. Therefore, to make them look faster, the FargoDome uses only 75% of the field size that they do at the Alerus and other stadiums. Therefore, in the FargoDome, a yard there is only 27" as opposed to normal football field's 36". Aren't you glad you asked?

Honestly, Tyrone Braxton was one of my favorite NFL players. Very smart defensive player for the Broncos. Phil Hanson was an underrated NFL player. But, both UND and NDSU are about even on their contributions to the player pool of the NFL.

UND is doing what is required to keep their membership in the BSC. The SL Tribe and the petition from members of the SR Tribe are done separate of the ND State Government institutions and the U of North Dakota. Just because some crank columnist from Sacramento says "throw them out" doesn't mean it is even something on the radar of the BSC. Jeez! UND is a member of the BSC and that won't change unless UND wants it to.

Better get used to it. It would make sense to get this done over break ASAP. It sucks, but it is reality, unless SL wins their suit.
