  1. Same here in Colorado. Rarely see NDSU gear. I see UND Sioux gear much more often. People dig the Sioux logo.
  2. Of the chain places, I prefer either Carino's or Macaroni Grill over Olive Garden. Not a big fan of the Olive Garden. But, I'm more into Mexican food than Italian anyhoo.
  3. You know, since UND won the last meeting with NDSU, and we have the Nickel Trophy, I would say that an argument could be made that UND has the superior football team. Just sayin'...
  4. So many different options too. It's a bit confusing. I assumed that NDSU and Wyoming were playing in the NIT. I could see the Pokes squeaking into it, but no the Bison. Then, I found out it was something called the CBI? I only knew the CIT existed because of UND playing Air Force last year. It is getting silly. Maybe the NCAA should just expand it to all schools? No more fighting over who should get in and who shouldn't. They can all split the $$$. Only problem will be the fight over seeding and the location of the games.
  5. Honestly, more of a hockey guy. But, I did see this game this year via video stream. Seems the University of North Dakota defeated NDSU in basketball. Their only head to head game. Therefore, on the court UND is proven the superior team. On paper...who cares? BTW, UND also leads in the overall series in basketball against NDSU. As well as football. Why? Because my school is the flagship university in the state of North Dakota. Like Phil Jackson said, "I did pretty good for a guy from a hockey school!" Well, now do what you do best. Go look for those udders on that tractor! Make yourself useful.
  6. I agree. If two teams meet head to head, the winner is the best team. Maybe that SU fan failed "Milking Tractors 101" in ag school?
  7. Fargonians can only hope and dream! You know, we are what we are. I always joke about being from a small rural town in North Dakota. Nothing wrong with being what you are and a little humor can melt the ice pretty quickly in social situations. I'm proud of where I am from. But, these Fargo folks better not kid themselves into thinking they are so above the Fray. (Which is a band from Denver who jokes are where THEY are from!) and it goes on...
  8. To be fair to the NDSU folks, even Justin Morrill said that he regretted the use of "Agriculture" in the wording of the Morrill Act, because it was to go well beyond the teaching of agricultural methods. Wish I could think of a good smart-a$$ follow up to rip on the ag school!
  9. Yeah. Fargo is the cosmopolitan center of the world. Well, I guess I'll do this again:
  10. Those are good questions. 1. Yes, the tribes should have a say. I don't believe that the SR tribal elders have allowed their people to have their say, but that is up for debate. 2. No. The honoring of the Sioux tribes should not be the SOLE purpose of UND or UND athletics. There. Hope I cleared it all up for you now!
  11. Is the CIT owned by the NCAA? In other words, will the rules apply? No home games, etc...?
  12. That was HER? That's so funny. Good for her. I met her years ago. Very nice lady.
  13. They definately have bigger fish to fry than the nickname. I hope they can find leadership that will help them.
  14. I used to disagree with this, but not anymore.
  15. One of the reasons John Adams feared the "Tyranny of the Majority". This is why the SBoHE needs to be kept separate from other elected offices. http://www.elitetrader.com/vb/printthread.php?threadid=161216
  16. That's if the ATHLETES, BAND, ADMINISTRATORS, COACHES, CHEERLEADERS wear the logo. Fans can wear whatever they want and yell the Sioux name if they want. You have a real reading comprehension problem, don't you?
  17. Trying to figure this out. If they win the tournament, that is not an automatic NCAA bid. But, are they eligible for the NCAA tournament this year? I thought they had a year up on the men's program. If not, is there a post season possibility at all?
  18. Yeah, I, uh, went ahead and copied the link to this post of yours and send it to the NCAA. I'm sure they'll get back to you shortly and agree with your position whole heartedly. Then, of course, the issue will be resolved. Uh....thanks?
  19. North Dakotan's all have ties to small towns in that state. I have my favorites in the tourney and I haven't lived there for about 28 years. My favorites are all based on friends/family and region of the state.
  20. To be honest, I don't understand why it isn't played in Bismarck and why it isn't the last winter sports tourney of the season. I'm too old school sometimes...
  21. Then, pray tell, why hasn't Betty Engelstad and the rest of her family came out in support of the nuclear option nickname only stance? I'll tell you why... Because they would rather see UND athletics compete at the highest level possible than keep the nickname and destroy the athletic department. It's a no-brainer. (For people with brains.)
  22. Sorry, Weber State dude. Gotta pull for Montana. Then, we can say we beat the Big Sky Champs (regular season) this year.
