  1. So there is a permanent floor for the 4 bball courts, but what will they do for the main bball court? Will something go on top of the big floor, or what?

On a different note, sounds exciting. I can't wait to see the inside. What event is on Aug 24th for the opening?

  2. The most interesting part of the whole situation is that the final sentence of the press release states that a "national search will begin immediately".

Hmmm... why in this case? :D

... no assistant coach, only GA's...

    That's why.

On another note, the problem with just getting different artificial turf to put down at memorial, and just rolling it up after, is that there would be no place to store it. Not to mention the massive amount of time and man power that would be needed to do that.

And they definatly wouldn't make the soccer players do it. It's just not an option.

  3. Can't we just make them exhibition games and have them not count toward our season's record but still play them? It would still be cool even if they didn't count. There could be some NCC Cup that the winner could keep for the year.

Like I said, even if it didn't count on the record it would still be fun to have.

  4. Well, I imagine that if we don't see an external advertisement for the job in a few days/week it probably will stay internal. Otherwise, if the advertisement shows up we'll have to wait a minimum of 30 days. So we should find out something soon.

  5. I've been waiting for them to put it up. To me it's just stupid not to have it up.

I can't remember exactly which color is which, but I know one color is easier for fans to see through and the other is better for the TV cameras.

  6. The problem with splitting football games is with season tickets. There aren't nearly as many seats at Memorial as at Alerus. So it would be a big pain to deal with peoples complaints about their seats.

  7. Hockey indeed counts. Also at the Division II level, you can only score in 7 sports each for men and women. Apparently Grand Valley's 33rd in womens tennis was surpassed by their performance in seven other sports. That's pretty impressive.

Laker fans, why no hockey at Grand Valley. Michigan is the state of college hockey and the school certainly seems large enough.

Oh, well that's cool, then. I figured since it was a division 2 thing, we could only use sports that we play at the division II level.

But since we're still a division 2 school we can use any sport that we compete in??

  8. I'm guessing this is nothing more than wishful thinking by some NDSU players, but some guys I know work with two current Bison players who were saying something about Digger wanting to play DI-AA and thinking about transferring to NDSU. I don't believe it myself, but I'm curious if anyone else has heard anything.

On a related note, I've wondered how the coaching staff, given all the talent at the position, manages to give all the LB's enough playing time to keep everyone happy. Winning helps of course.

I can't imagine somebody moving schools to play "better talent" yet still have no chance to win a championship.

  9. Vandevelde did less than Gifford at the State Tourny. Vandevelde played on the third line. I already knew about Vandevelde, and I'm still surprised to see a kid that wasn't on his high school's top line getting a scholorship to the Sioux. He's a good player, one of many from Moorhead, but not a standout IMO.

Maybe that's another reason why Moorhead did so well, they distributed their talent.

    Just a thought.

  10. fightingsioux.com usually has the football scores up in a timely fashion.

If you want hockey scores, I believe they are posted here right after the games, or to read recaps of the games (which are linked from here) go to uscho.com.

  11. So Drew already made it? Cause from my knowledge he's still under a "try out"

As a "walk-on" you don't actually "make the team" until you try out and Blais says "you're in."

Technically I could show up on the first day of tryouts and try to make the team. Although the fact that I've never played organized ice hockey and don't even own a hockey stick might make it tough for me.

  12. I've talked to Blais personally and he is predicting big things this year and next year for the Sioux! I cannot wait! As great as Parise was, (I think he is one of the top five Sioux players of all-time) I think they will be better this coming year without him.

    GO SIOUX!

Just look at the Texas Rangers now that A-Rod is gone. Let's hope something similar happens to us.
