  1. Every event at any arena will have people patting you down to make sure you're not bringing anything in.

Are every one of those illegal? I'd much rather have myself patted down and know that I'm safer than keep my own privacy and fear somebody else is sneaking something dangerous into the arena.

  2. What, haven't you ever had a Whiskey-Coke float ;)

Hockey at NDSU is a pipe-dream! They would have to divert $$$ from the beloved football team and as far as an arena, Fargo residents have spoken...this past Tuesday voting down the latest proposed arena.

Unless there is outside $$$ donated, it's not gonna happen.

I think more than anything these votes, and past USHL teams, have shown that Fargo residents simple wouldn't support a hockey team of any level. Given, a D1 hockey team would be more exciting to watch than USHL.

  3. What I miss is the Gear Daddies "I want to drive the Zamboni" song when the Zamboni's are on the ice.

    <{POST_SNAPBACK}>

Alright, it might be a decent song, but it gets sooooo old. Having heard it 8 times at the Final Five (twice at each of 4 games, I didn't go to the playin), I'm really sick of it. Maybe once per weekend, but that's the most they should play it.

  4. Agreed, we need Matt for a run at Milwaukee!! Hopefully they will settle after the college season is already underway.

This is definatly what I'm hoping for, as well.

  5. As much as I want to be optimistic and pick 1st, and even though I can't think of two teams that would finish ahead of us, I'm going to be realistic and choose 3rd.

After finishing 1st 2 years ago, and 5th this past year, I don't them jumping back up to 1st next year. So, again, realism prevails.

  6. Hey why don't we have Lienies Creamy Dark Beer upstairs too  :silly:

Then everyone would be happy

    <{POST_SNAPBACK}>

    Creamy Dark is disguisting.

As for the a replacement to the B.S. cheer, there's always the ever-popular high school cheer: "nuts and bolts, nuts and bolts, we got screwed"

  7. REA doesn't care from what I understand.  They want as little to do with the process as possible. If we wanted all GA seats, they wouldn't care.  The second year at REA worked just fine with all GA tickets and it can work just fine again.  It's the easiest thing to implement and results in the fewest problems when it season tickets.

I just thought of another problem that happened this year.  There was no contract that season ticket holders had to sign.  I'd think this made it a bit more difficult for people to be permanetly kicked out of the arena for bad behavior.

    <{POST_SNAPBACK}>

If I remember right, the swearing problem is what caused them to go to season tickets. That way if somebody is a problem they can just take away all their tickets and can get rid of them.

That's what I seem to remember.

  8. Where was he for the Thursday game, the Final Five, and most every other game in between the photo ops?

    <{POST_SNAPBACK}>

On thursday he was in Arizona getting money for the university. He said he watched the game in a bar or something with some Sioux fans.

  9. You don't need to have alot of cheers that you expect everyone to join you with.  Just a few - the songs, the Sioux Yeah Yeah, and the ever popular Let's Go Sioux.  But you all need to do them loud.  Keep at it.  Eventually the rest of the crowd will "Get it".

    <{POST_SNAPBACK}>

This is where the tech staff at REA needs to work with the students. When the students start yelling "LET'S GO SIOUX" and actually get some volume going, they need to get it up on the big screen (or at least the circle "ad" banner).

That has got to help some, at least.

  10. What was funnier was the result of it getting stuck.  Andy skates by, it gets stuck, and Andy doesn't let go.  The result?  Andy flies onto his backside.  He's quickly back on his skates and tries to get the stick, but it won't come out.

I laughed so hard.  And, IIRC, it actually threw Woog and Masucko off their game for a while.

    <{POST_SNAPBACK}>

Not only that, but he tried getting it out, but couldn't. Then he had to go make a play over in the corner, went to deal with that, puck got moved away, he went back to try for the stick AGAIN, and failed again, then finally gave up.

The moment that's on my mind right now is in the 2nd period of the championship game, Prpich was mouthing off to Mannino for quite some time. He was just skating circles around him (literally) just yappin away and laughing like he always does. It was hilarious because you could tell Mannino was fuming.

  11. Forgive me for possibly being politically incorrect, but this others teams nickname has more parallels, in my mind, with the way african-americans now sometimes call each other "the n-word", after it was first used as a derogatory term.

I agree with PCM, it seems to be near exact opposite of the problems people have with our nickname.

Yes, nickname, not mascot, like the thread title.
