  1. Totally true about finding out who really is best. With 2 ties it's almost as if the 2 games didn't happen. So when both teams are full strength we'll see how things really go.

As for goaltending. I loving Ranfranz. It's a good guy. I'm guessing Brandt was just having a bad night and couldn't focus or something. And Ranfranz was just on fire. It was awesome watching him. I'm not nearly as nervous watching him in next as much as I used to be.

  2. And BigGrey, others have already pointed out that the coaches do get to pick their non-conference schedules. The caller was commenting more on the fact that UND plays all but 2 of their league games at home in the first half, leaving them on the road all next semester.

Alright. Guess I misinterpreted that. Thanx for the clear-up.

  3. Caller asked about the schedule. The schedule is done through the league office, and Blais pretty much has no choice on it. Sometimes he gets to vote on which schedule he likes the best out of like 4 or 5, but otherwise he doesn't get much choice. Ideally it should be one series away, one series at home. Caller says P and Dubay (?) are smoking crack because they still say we haven't played anybody, even though we've only lost to one team.

That's interesting to know. I made a comment on USCHO message board that said "it's not like we get to pick who we play, so don't bitch at us for an easy schedule" and somebody can back and said something along the lines of: "That's the most rediculus thing I've heard on these boards. Who do you think decides who you play for NC, uncle ralphy?"

So it's really nice to know that we DON'T pick our NC games, I didn't think we did, now I have some proof.

By the way, thanx for the write up, I never see the show, good to hear what Blais is saying.

  4. Don't suggest this on USCHO or fear the wrath of some users who will point out (impolitely) that it's been discussed before.

It's all economics. Not enough college hockey fans to buy the game.

Thanx for the heads-up. I haven't been around this, or the uscho, forum for very long.

And u'r right, I realize that's why they don't make one, but it sux cuz I LOVE college hockey.

  5. Do you realize why the save percentage is so low? Our DMen are doing a stellar job of blocking shots. So when a shot does sneak through it isn't seen by anybody.

At least that's how I like to think about it. Personally I think we will do fine sticking with Brandt and Seimbida for the rest of the season.

  6. Did you watch Josh last year? He was a savior. Without him to take over to Kollar for awhile to prove to Andy that he had to work for his position, we wouldn't have lasted at all. Josh made some NHL quality saves last year. I think the problem this year is that they know they have the scoring capacity on the team so they don't neccesarily think they have to work as hard. Unconsiously, of course.

But I think Jake is doing a great job this year. I think this weekend will show something how these guys will play. The whole team, actually, not just the goalies. We'll see if they come out fired up to play and win, or to pound and attack. We don't need a grunge match this weekend, we need solid playing and goaltending. Because at this point every team is trying to beat us to try to prove we aren't as good as the record says we are.

I know I'll be there this weekend, but then again, I get in free every week.
