Yes. They have always been NDSU. I think a couple of Travis and Nicks uncles played football, and maybe basketball for NDSU. OK. EDIT: Uncles JT (70's) and Rusty (80's) (Nicks Dad) played football at SU.

OK Fourwindsboy. You have no idea what the details of Sioux-cia's story on the rez are. You have no right to call her story b*##sh%t without getting the entire story from her. She had many nice things to say about the reservations she worked on, but this particular incident was totally political and they lost a great healthcare provider, due to the tribal council NOT WANTING TO TAKE THE TIME to listen to another side of the story. Am I surprised about that? No. I lived in Devils Lake my entire life (up until 9 years ago) and have seen many things from the Spirit Lake Tribe that make me wonder about the policies and procedures of the reservation.

I agree with your comment of many people being in support of the name and logo. I am also from Devils Lake and have many native american friends there. I have yet to hear an opposing view from any of them. There are so many people from the Spirit Lake Tribe that wear UND clothing and hats. Just go to the nearest baseball diamond or Walmart and take a look around.

I'm pretty sure they played it at the beginning of the New Years Day outdoor game between the Sabres and the Penguins. Not sure about regular season games. I'm all for the anthem being sung by the crowd rather than individuals. How about the band coming up with new songs, and have something other than "In Heaven There Is No Beer" played after our goals.

I don't know why you think he can't match or out do this years efforts. The kid is a dynamo (sorry Yzerman 19, had to use your term ). I think he will be able to put up numbers with any combo of linemates.

Long ago, before I could drink legally in ND, we would go to Cartwright to the bar. Lots of fun. There was someone there that would have a volleyball tourney over the Memorial Day weekend each year that we would go to, not necessarily to play volleyball though. I barely made it back in time for graduation.

My favorite isn't a playoff commercial, but it's the one with Ryan Miller and __________________(another goalie, cant remember who right now) with the "Your Momma's so ugly" one liners.
