It truly does look like the coaches have lost this team. Doesn't even have to be locker room issues. They just seem to be playing without direction.
-
Look for an intense weekend. Both teams know they need to sweep in order to realize their goal of winning the Penrose Cup and getting a 1 seed.
-
Speaking of standards . . . .
-
Kids or no kids obviously has nothing to do with the programs themselves. Not my point.
-
He have kids? Choosing where to raise your kids, if you have options, is a big deal.
-
Same with blind passes from the end wall to the front of the net. And why they don't make that pass nearly as much as they do in HS.
-
I’m thinking of threatening to turn the shutoff valve to my wallet. The program would go into an immediate tailspin, but the nuclear option might be what’s needed. Team up with gfhockey, and we’d hold the whole university hostage.

I agree with the name acceptance. By referring to "Sioux" ties, I did not mean to imply any nickname allegiance.

Unless they are a 2 seed or better, which will not happen, I really don't care if they have to win the conference tournament to get in. They would have to beat DU anyway, so might as well line em up right away. -
Whenever and however BB moves on, I'd like to see a HC who is not only younger but whose prior playing experience or coaching strength is offense. I get that D wins championships, but it would be nice to see more of the top offensive talent drawn to UND's program. That said, I'd probably wait to see how the Canadian junior talent affects the recruiting balance. Having coaches with strong western Canada ties might prove important. Having someone with Sioux ties would be nice but only if that person is the best (or equal) candidate for other reasons.

BSU is solid. Not surprised they beat UMinn. Not an excuse. UND looks slow and unsure of itself.
-
BSU is the better skating team.
-
Big time.
-
Tonight their pass catching has been especially dismal.
-
Kunz is there for a net-front body, is that it?
-
4-2 Good guys tonight.
-
Should be a full house then.
-
It does look like climbing the pairwise pole will be damn difficult now, given the schedule ahead. Pairwise nerds agree with that?

I’ve heard a bunch of the players are suffering from clinical anemia. I don’t have facts I can share, but the results on the ice substantiate that. Why aren’t Berry and the trainer getting the team proper medical care? I’m not claiming there aren’t locker room issues, but without direct evidence, it’s just too easy to treat speculation as fact and then base our judgments upon those assumptions. I get it, though: we are just fans, and that is what we do. Myself included.
-
Now that we know the locker room is divided, we’re eager to learn who is pitted against whom. And who is the snitch? Should be great reading in the weeks ahead as the facts roll in.

Too early to give up. All they have to do is win out.

Talk about sad changes from the old days. Hockey games in Madison at either the old Dane or the Herb, especially against the Sioux, were a real fun experience. Their band, the goal card guy, their cheers calling out an opposing fan . . . . Times have changed. The atmosphere at the old Ralph (and barn before that) was intense: at Badger venues it was like a big party celebration. -

"Numbers" means goals, doesn't it? There's something of greater value? Pretty goals are worth more than grinder goals?
