Cyndi Wilbur Lauper. Just a girl having fun, Wilbur.

We gripe about officiating a lot when we lose too.

Two of our big scoring guns, Blake and Gaber, seem to be among the biggest celebrators when others score, which is an intangible I like.

Win or lose, the boys will learn some early season lessons this weekend

I imagine they hand out t-shirts at pro events, don’t they?

A non-conference opponent that competes with UND for natties and top-end recruits. Plus, no opponent, conference or non, smells quite the way they do.

BADgers @ UND - IceBreaker Tourney - Gameday Thread
burd replied to stoneySIOUX's topic in Men's Hockey
For a completely new group, they covered their assignments well and kept their heads about them. Seldom did they make hurried and rash decisions with the puck. Badgers could just as well have won that game, but it was encouraging from a defensive standpoint. As someone pointed out, UW is well coached. -

A very fair question. We tend to be very outcome-centric in our evaluation. -

What percentage of Highway Host (or Big Steer) patrons at any time between 1:30 and 3:00 a.m. on a hockey night we’re shytfaced? And it spooks me now to think someone was usually driving. -

It’s so good to watch a highly competitive, feisty Sioux/Badger game again. -

2023-24 University of North Dakota Hockey Season

Small thing and probably meaningless, but I like the goal celebrating on this team. They seem to turn to each other, if not first, then right after celebrating themselves. -
I hope our guys achieve a deep and abiding sense of fulfillment and inner peace.
-
They were, but not shocking with an entirely new defensive group.
-
The dangle goals are fun to watch, but they won’t get by with much of that against UMinn and other top teams. Perron’s one timer, though . . . Oshiesque. a lot of stick skill on this team.
-
The only problem with getting a lot of time and space in these first two games is that things will be very different with UMinn and, possibly, UW. Glad we have the Badgers between us and the Gophs. First, though: Army. Avoid the unranked losses that have been such a problem in the recent past.
-
I truly hope we aren’t going down this path again.

J Hawks, but that’s taken.

Icebreaker @ REA - UND vs. Army, Bucky; BSU vs. Bucky, Army

They should be strong in the trenches. -
Spent the evening with inlaws in Ann Arbor last night--big UM fans. There were saying that Michigan took a while to mobilize on the NIL front but that they have kicked it into full gear now. That and seeing the PAC schools moving to the Big 10 is another reminder where college athletics has been headed for some time. Have to believe there will be some efforts to mitigate the effects of NIL, though.
