You’re certainly right about how desirable a win is here, but using the term “must win” seems to diminish the meaning of truly “must” win games. But that’s picking nits, I guess, because your point is a good one. i think the boys either win or lose decisively.

Things like a blade to the balls seemed juvenile to me. I’d rather see a hockey play, though he could do that too. I know many felt his instigating was hockey play. One thing: A bunch of pushing and shoving and face washing along with chirping after the whistle is a little lame in todays full mask, no-fight game. Save it for a legit hit or a good hockey play.

I like the way Mankato plays, frankly.

Mankato skates extremely well.

Coasting to the puck while the Mavs skate. Even last night, Mankato skated all game long.

I think their breakout (escape) passing is already better than last year, though they were last year. Some misses and turnovers, of course, but they are pretty composed. But again, that's from a watching-tv perspective, not the best way to judge overall play.

Btw, it's hard to tell if you're not in the rink, but Montgomery seemed to have a solid game last night.

Hell learn to dial back the dangle a little against the better teams. BU on the road will be a great test for these guys.
