  1. Eaves has to have better control than that. Has to.

Works for me. 3 on 3 is entertaining, but it's not the game they play.

In the end this is all about dykswinging, so they should just pull them out. Have each team designate their guy. They'd have to require that guy to log a minimal amount of ice time, of course--say 3 minutes, That would open up one roster spot on each team for a regular guy with ordinary hockey skills but a python in his breezers. Probably be a crowd favorite, and his three minutes on the ice would be entertaining.
  4. The hits were bad. Even most Badger fans agreed, especially the Wittchow hit.

I played in the wooden stick era, and guys would add curve. The test I saw used on the ice (Canadian rinks, I think) was seeing if a dime could pass under a straight edge between the heel and the toe. That's not much curve, but those are olden days. Not much toe-dragging with straight blades.
  6. Was he standing next to Karl?
  7. Jake was giving Adam props last night, which seemed strange.
  8. Poganski is really playing big. Surely you didn't think the team would never have off nights. The Circus had lost 6 games at this point in the schedule in 1987. The boys had a soft 1/2 schedule and have a long way to go, but they have been extremely consistent
  9. Only dropped one in the pairwise. Lucky: you probably drop that much just by playing CC. Though it is pretty obvious they are not the same team we played last fall. SCSU can attest to that.
  10. Yeah, come to think of it, things were pretty gummed up last night.
  11. We haven't seen many soft goals so far this season. Three tonight.
  12. Wow. Blais gets swept by Western Michigian, swept at home by Denver, and now beaten at home by Miami. Hot seat in Omaha?
  13. I don't mind Hammer, but he's obviously not loaded up top, Cliché prone. Tonight virtually everything is about breaking scoring droughts.
  14. Hammer and Jake must be burning one--they got the giggles.
  15. Pretty hard to argue against that group. Jones was one of my favorite pure defensemen we've had.
  16. Boy, when you look at our lineup to see how they we will fill injury holes and you see those 6 Dmen, you realize how loaded we are on the blue line. I don't remember a 6-man crew this good. Maybe better 2 or 3, but not the whole crew, IMO.
  17. I hope we don't get gutted this summer. UND always reloads, but a lot could happen.
  18. Not only that. One of the things we know we need is more scoring from other lines. If Caggiula and Schmaltz are out, others will have to deliver for them to win. What better time could that happen than early in the second half with 4 home games against bottom tier opponents? We know any team can beat any other team on any given night (and CC seems to be playing a much better game after a disastrous start), but still . . . if you were to pick a time for this to happen, this isn't bad.
  19. Now that you mention it, you and I could do that job. Well . . . you maybe.
  20. Doubtful is definitely good news. That guy is hugely important to our long term success
  21. Seems like it should be quicker for hockey players, since they don't have to raise their arms above their shoulders very often and can strap that arm down a little closer. That is an uneducated, unqualified observation, needless to say.
  22. Worth noting also that CC only lost 2-1 in the other game at Cloud. Bad idea to underestimate any team in this conference.
