  1. It's almost unfair to last week's effort to say tonight's was much better. We LOOKED better, but this is not Denver. Or Duluth, IMO. Main thing is we won Friday on the road and took a step forward.
  2. Denver is a level above cloud at this point.
  3. the defense has been very steady. good positioning
  4. 4-0 game and the St. Cloud announcer says the Hawks have scored 3 unanswered goals.
  5. Impossible. Unless it happened at least 5 minutes before the game ended, there weren't any gopher fans still there.
  6. That's how you do it, Dave.
  7. Nobody here is normal. At least not the normal ones.
  8. I want him here. I'm a hockey idiot, and he can make even me feel smart.
  9. If I were a Nodak but one who needed a lot of attention, for whatever reason, I would think about making all my posts relate in some fashion to how I like the team most locals do not. I would not need to show any real hockey knowledge or contribute any insight or humor to the discussion, but I would get constant attention. Either that or get counseling for harsh toilet training.

    Boo Berry

I have yet to see him coach a full 60 minutes.
  11. This fargoan kills me. Most of my Badger hockey friends (and there aren't a ton of Sioux fans in the Mad area) wish B1G hockey had never happened. But hey, you're from Fargo, not Madison.

And another thing. We would be undefeated if SPARKY were on the team!

We would be undefeated if Blais were coach.
  14. I don't hate the B1G--I live in WI, and it's a great BB and FB conference with a great research reputation. But the hockey is bad. It will get much better, I'm sure, but it's bad. I would not want to be a B1G hockey fan. Some day that might change, but not now.
  15. I really like Berry, but in last night I think we got outcoached. DU has more talent, but they were also all over out outlet passes, just smothering the winger on the board and anticipating every chip along the wall. They knew where we were going every step of the way. DU, on the other hand, used the center of the ice very effectively in their transition game. I realize it's not as simple as that. We are in a learning phase and need to execute the basics first. In fact, the tight score might suggest our strategy was a good one, as it did look like DU had the better talent overall. A tie and a one-goal game against the second ranked team in the country is hardly reason to panic, though. There's a LOT of hockey ahead. Our brutal stretch of schedule is not over though. Forged in the fire, I guess.
  16. You and your dam facts.
  17. Keep in mind: this DU team swept last year's team.
  18. The boys are working hard, but it looks like Montgomery has a better plan in place for this game, to be honest. DU is anticipating along the boards and creating room in the middle of the ice for their rushes. This is a good DU team.
  19. That's a fair statement.
  20. He's been great, but I don't think it is fair to imply that most of the players do not have a lot of drive.
  21. I liked our play and really enjoyed that game. Cam came up huge on the breakaways. The boys looked good against a very good team. There is a reason last year's team got swept by these guys in the second half of the season. We need to get on top of taking penalties, of course, and it's not just the kill. They can play aggressive and stay out of the box. Penalties is one reason why I cringe a little when I hear fans ask for old school hockey. The staff has that figured out, though. Look for another great game tonight.
  22. This is why we love college hockey so much. Two very good hockey teams going full speed.
  23. I have to disagree. Cam proved last year in March and April that he can handle pressure. And we all knew last year that a huge part of our success was due to the defense, including goaltending and success at the offensive end of the ice. He just has a more difficult job this year because our young team has a lot to learn. Not rocket science. And there os no guarantee that the boys will reach a level where they are a threat in March. That's the way the game works. For everybody. I personally think they will be in the hunt, but I don't think they will just turn a switch. There are some difficult lessons ahead, IMO. The NCHC is too good to expect otherwise, and I wouldn't have it any other way,
  24. Isn't that as certain as death and taxes?
  25. I hope the players don't fold as easily as some fans.
