  1. You have the right username, at least.
  2. He's coming if rumspringa works out for him.
  3. I"m not sure what you mean by the "vibe," but it sounds a little silly to me. But I'm a long way from the atmosphere there.
  4. Yeah, I didn't mean to suggest I thought you were wrong. I agree that the competition is good for the team, and maybe he doesn't have enough competitive edge. Either way, I hope he gets his shot somewhere.
  5. By all accounts, he has done just that up to this point. If he stays here, history says he won't see many pucks this year. Some would say staying is an indication that he is content warming the bench and argue he should have gone where he is being game-time tested on a regular basis. While I would also like to see him stay, I wouldn't blame him for taking an opportunity to play. He has proven his patience and loyalty in my mind.
  6. Here maybe, but not GPL, where it would have to be a small offense.
  7. He played with two greats, but nobody could flip a card into the hat from his office chair like Duncan.
  8. I really don't think we have a chance next year. Our D is the gift that keeps on giving; we can't play 60 minutes to save our souls; what 1st rounders we have don't show up when it counts; the PP scores fewer goals than the PK; MICHIGAN STATE??; and Katie never gets that friggin hair dangle out of her face. I'll probably still watch the games, but don't expect me to get too excited about it. Staying away from Netflix this summer so I have a big supply built up.
  9. Michigan has to be an easy place to recruit to if you have the hockey program in shape. And a lot of supply, with the development program right there and all of Michigan and much of Ontario within a day's drive.
  10. At a wedding reception in Des Moines. Score?
  11. You always want to keep someone like Boeser or Jost, but there is something I like about having a team full of talented, committed (experienced) players who feel they have to do it without a number one draft pick there to score the big goals and make the big stops.
  12. Thought Greg Page could put a new ATO house on every block.
  13. I like Poganski, but as big and skilled as he is, he doesn't have close to the possession skills Boeser, Jost an Toews had. Kristo had pretty good possession skills too.
  14. What they appear to be lacking next year and have had for several years now is a possession player. Both Boeser and Jost fit that bill, but Gersich does not. Jost was on his way to being Toews-like in his ability to keep others off the puck.
  15. If he could prove such a promise, and if they did not conform, Jost could argue that he was fraudulently induced and attempt to void the contract. Of course the written contract would contain terms designed to prevent that, including an integration clause.
  16. Hard to believe a kid that young could be so good at possessing the puck in the dirty areas. He was long but not mature physically. Mentally? Far beyond his years.
  17. You're an offensive fan, scpa. If you are defensive about that, I guess it makes you the complete package.
  18. I don't know about MUCH bigger, but I agree. Blkackhawks fans, who are an impatient bunch, get it how important Toews is even when he's not scoring. Jost was one of the best this program has had, IMO. But that isn't cause for despair. It's a credit to our program and will yield recruitment benefits in the future. Good opportunity for some guys to step up.
  19. We were lucky to get him in GF for a year, so this can't be a big surprise to anybody, really. Hope he has the kind of success guys like Toews, Oshie, Parise, etc have had, so future recruits see us as a great preparation for the NHL. We'd like all these kids to be like Duncan, but that just isn't going to happen with the No 1s. Hope he lights em up.
  20. Oh I don't know: we handled Iwabuchi OK. But I get your point--we'll fumble with it now.
  21. It IS good to hear from you, Patrick.
  22. Don't feel afraid to change your feelings about the team, the coaches, or any of the players. Just because you express your love, admiration and undying loyalty for all things Sioux (another subject) when they are winning, does not mean you can't call them all a bunch of lazy, useless, ungrateful, couldn't-play-a-full-60-minutes-if-their-lives-depended-on-it punks if they go down a goal. It's part of the Fans' Bill of Rights.
