  1. Came late. Boeser?
  2. territorial dominance
  3. Jost takes this?
  4. I don't think it's an either/or question. I have no complaints about Cam's play--he has kept us in games. And there's not question our D is nowhere near what it was last year. That was a generational team defense. We are turnover prone, and both D and forwards have missed assignments in front of the net. it's certainly not just the Dmen who have been guilty. I'm just saying this team will often do a decent job of keeping the play on the perimeter for most of the game only to give up the puck in transition leading to a goal.
  5. I think they have generally played pretty well on D, it's just that they are prone to mistakes that have led to a turnover goal or two per game. It's like factoring in that one softie per game Macintyre was often guilty of .
  6. Probably right
  7. Cam is going to have to be at his best this weekend. We just make too many mistakes in our own end for us to win any other way. Scoring 5 or 6 would do the trick too, of course, but that's not likely to happen twice. One thing you can bet on: if we do not sweep, a lot of fans will insist that the team did not want it badly enough.
  8. true.
  9. It sure seems like both the Wild and the Caps are due.
  10. They may have been fun, but they did not help us win. This isn't 1985.
  11. No big deal for their fans as long as they're registered on GPL. They don't actually go to games either.
  12. Too bad. Lumberjack hockey in the Lumberdome was a good thing for a long time.
  13. Why do you ask that, cberkas?
  14. I think UND should at least consider a head coach triumverate, kind of like what UW has in place. Thinking Wilbur, Mafia, and Goon. Wilbur can coach the loonies between the pipes. There will be beer probably.
  15. I don't know. He's delivering pizza these days, so probably not a lot of coin to spend on hookers and blow.
  16. I get how disappointed many of us are and the need to vent. But I've never understood the need to turn ugly on our own. It's worse than the stupid retaliatory penalties we criticize the players for.
  17. You, on the other hand . . . .
  18. I know. I was having fun, fs4l. I know we aren't supposed to have fun after a night like tonight, but what the hill.
  19. Oh no you don't. We want some red meat. Like a coach who can't loosen up and gets his players too tight to win when they have to. A team that can't play a full 60 minutes is always an option but not very satisfying. How about a coach that is too laid back and can't get his players to play with enough intensity to win when they have to? Or players who might have cared about winning last year but don't this year? Gotta be something, cause someone's going down.
  20. Another thing. Do all these draft picks have any idea now important these games are to our own personal sense of self worth and happiness? They have their puck bunnies; what are we supposed to do, kick the dog?
  21. I could tell last year this coaching staff just didn't get it.
  22. Not all of the 20 was poorly played. They controlled play for periods of time and had some very good scoring chances. Gersich should have potted two.
  23. 5-3 Hawks. This despite the shocking discovery that UNDHawks4life was feeding Deano inside information we thought only gfhockey and the Russians had access to.
  24. It will be interesting to see what Deano does about Jost and Boeser. He doesn't have great defensive tools to shut them down with. Dean being Dean, he might open it up and try to get an early lead and make us play catch up. Or maybe he just stays the course and hopes for a better outcome.
  25. You are exactly right. Yon must have been shaking his head, and Pogo usually scores on that breakaway backhand he had. Those guys will have to bury those if we hope to go anywhere.
