  1. Looks to me like it was an easy call on the minor and a dumb call on the major. In either case, Smith was playing extremely dumb hockey to put his team a man down (for even two minutes) against that power play. Can't control the refs, but you can control yourself.
  2. yeah. I tend to look at his situation and think we were lucky to get him for one, rather than regret we did not get him for two.
  3. Greg Johnson cannot be left off this team.
  4. That's right. There are bad calls in every sport at every level of play. Learning to deal with them without letting it affect your play is part of the process for everybody. Some do it well, some do not. When I had kids in youth sports, you could just watch how parents reacted in the stands and figure out which players would be able to deal with bad calls without letting them affect the team. We have good kids, and good coaches. They will learn from this and put it behind them rather than hold on to it.
  5. It will be interesting to see what the coaches have planned this period. Denver controlled play quite a bit that period.
  6. Maybe so, but it did not cost us a goal. Unless you consider what might have happened during the balance of the major.
  7. Boy we haven't won many puck battles on the boards.
  8. He's been critical to my enjoyment of Sioux hockey over the years
  9. they got the goal in the first two minutes, so the major did not cost us a goal. Actually do not regret Smith being off the ice if he's going to keep putting us on the PK.
  10. Legit two, but not major. But it is what it is. time to play hockey and stay the f out of the box.
  11. Looked that way to me too. He just needs to use his head a little more. He's been in the box way too much this weekend against the third best PP in the country.
  12. The first interference call was questionable. The DU announcers aren't bytching about it, though.
  13. Well, sounds kind of like my life, and at my age I'm fading fast by 9:00
  14. Monty should be in a doghouse of his own, the way he has let his emotions control his behavior in front of his team.
  15. Sundowning, Sic?
  16. The announcers speculated that it was the faceoff thing, I believe.
  17. this game was a confidence builder for the team and a reminder to us fans.
  18. that's why it's often unfair they way we fans are quick to say they don't care or aren't working hard when things aren't going well on the ice. North Dakota players are known for their work ethic and team play.
  19. Good point. Given the way Sioux fans travel, I wonder if we have ever influenced opponents' recruits in in their' own barns. Be interesting if any of our players or committed recruits ever noticed that when they were visiting another program.
  20. Wonder if we stole any recruits from Monty tonight.
  21. Needs a tootsie pop
  22. Yzer's a good fan--just a little vulnerable to his own passion.
  23. No, they wouldn't. Hockey is a funny game, though, as long as Mo is in the building somewhere.
  24. Nah, tonight he's poking the weasel, yzer.
  25. Parise, when is the last time I heard that movie mentioned? Makes me want to see it again.
