  1. Wonder if we stole any recruits from Monty tonight.
  2. Needs a tootsie pop
  3. Yzer's a good fan--just a little vulnerable to his own passion.
  4. No, they wouldn't. Hockey is a funny game, though, as long as Mo is in the building somewhere.
  5. Nah, tonight he's poking the weasel, yzer.
  6. Parise, when is the last time I heard that movie mentioned? Makes me want to see it again.
  7. There was some good coaching behind that effort. Big time adjustment after a nightmare 1st.
  8. this kind of game is just what the doctor ordered for this team. Good test for Thome too, hanging in there after getting peppered early.
  9. the boys showed good third period energy at CC, so the altitude should not hold them back. Coaching counts now.
  10. Yzer's back.
  11. Good point. And I'm glad we are playing a team this good. We won't be playing CCs and Miamis come nut cuttin time.
  12. It does look a little like they are playing the Red Army, doesn't it.
  13. We were clearly the better team that period, but the refs screwed us over.
  14. This Denver team is just plain much better. It's not a case of us being lazy or unmotivated. DU is just that much better. But you never know in this game what might happen. Tonight, tomorrow, or two months from now.
  15. Clearly evident talent imbalance at this point.
  16. It clearly crossed the line. Second replay view showed it.
  17. Nice. Bunch of boneheaded Blackhawks fans have been griping about JT's downturn in production and claiming his paleo diet is making him weak. Not sure it's strictly paleo, but he's not eating brats and burgers like they'd like.
  18. That seems odd. He's a WI resident, so tuition and fees are only about 10,500 per year, so he's not an expensive scholarship, even with room and board. Of course, maybe they didn't put a high enough value on him to offer a full.
  19. Hence the Wisconsin connection. In addition to training at Pettit, did one or both attend UW?
  20. Source?
  21. Does DU have a message board where a guy can try to stir up the natives a little. Do those people even read?
  22. Not surprised about JS, to be honest.
  23. Your comment is such small thinking. When I was a kid, I thought winning the game I was playing was the immediate goal and winning the season the ultimate goal. But I've aged a lot and matured a little and have changed my definition of what the "big one" is. A banner is a lot of fun and provides a convenient and identifiable goal and a great excuse to engage in trash talk, but it is NOT the "big one" in these kids' lives. How they fight for it and what they learn from that fight, win or lose, is much bigger. Hak helped a lot of kids "win" that one. And yeah, I deserve some "FCS, give us a break, burd" crap for that one.
  24. Cue Dustin Penner story
  25. Many of us have been a little disappointed by Kawaguchi's development, but there's another way to look at it. The guy has real skills, just hasn't adjusted to the speed of the game, it looks like. If he does (and I have to think our staff can help him turn the corner), that's another tool in our belt we haven't even been using to this point. And possibly a very good one.
