    Remember Radio

You gave us just a teaser! We DEMAND a transcript.
  2. I guess I have heard several times where he has called a spade a spade in these cases. My impression is he is pretty unbiased on these types of things.
  3. I meant they could tailgate in the expanse that was the parking lot at the Ho. Wow. New hotel at the Ho. The times they are a-changin'.
  4. I really like Woog as a color guy and have said this before. And regardless of comments I made above, or Woog's obvious homerism even on TV, I give the guy credit because IMO he calls it as he really sees it. He's not afraid to compliment the Sioux when they do something well, or rip the Gophers if they screw up. He's also not slow to correct Mazzocco when he's complaining about a call that went against the goofs when Wooger thinks it's a good call. Hennessy is as biased as they come, but calls a good game regardless. For that reason he's easy to listen to if you're a Sioux fan, but I take many of his comments about plays or officiating with a grain of salt because he wears his Kelly Green on his sleeve.
  5. There's probably room at the Westward Ho!
  6. There would be if this was my senior year.
  7. The last thing other readers probably need is more of me.
  8. Still just a wanna be. (how pathetic am I? )
  9. I think most of us WANT to coach the Sioux but were beat out by Blais when the job was open. Hey, we tried!
  10. I was a bit surprised about Woog's shot at the non-conf schedule. Yes, we will play 2 cupcakey teams during the Christmas tourney but other than that, are they all that bad? BC is tops and Yale is at least respectable, aren't they? Other than that, I don't have any major complaints. He sees things his way, we ours. Like PCM said, he picked the Sioux to finish 2nd in the conference, so thinks highly of them overall.
  11. From the replay I saw on the news, it looked pretty much like PCM describes. Kind of looked to me like Fuher took a shot but his stick hit the defenders stick at about the same time he hit the puck and that took most of the steam out of the shot. The puck just got pushed towards the net and happened to go in because the goalie was fooled. Anyone who has played foosball understands how those 'holy rollers' can fool a goalie.
  12. Nah. It's Herbie edit: Ah. PCM beat me to the punch.
  13. True. Those "other things" could have a contributory effect so can't be discounted outright.
  14. Falling on the side of "at your own risk" myself, I do admit that some of those rockets are difficult to avoid even if you are paying attention. And NO ONE is constantly focused on a game the whole time. Nets weren't required until someone actually DIED. It's an inconvenience for those fans to look through, no doubt. But loved ones will be coming back home. The defected pucks at center ice aren't that big of a danger even if they hit you. I don't know but I would think the puck that killed that girl was a rocket, not just a deflected wrister. I can understand the desire to put nets on the end of the ice, but think they are unnecessary anywhere else.
  15. The way the DECC is built it IS scary to sit on the ends.
  16. Interesting comments about Smaby not being in the best shape, and of a potential lack of leaders. Also, "older" players coming in injured. Wonder what that's all about.
  17. Sorry. Seemed to me you were ripping on him seriously.
  18. Greyeagle is probably the last of the UM crowd that is going to come here trying to stir things up. My guess is he had a legit question. Doesn't mean you have to agree with it.
  19. Ok. The situation is not funny. But being charged with striking a fixed object is, out of this context, pretty humorous.
  20. This, unfortunately, seems to be the way things are going with top young talent. As the story mentioned, Jeff Jackson committed to Michigan last year at that age, and we all know that BC is weaning young children off their mother's milk... Personally, I'm not in favor of getting a commitment from a kid that young because you never know if the crowd will catch up over time. On the other hand, I wouldn't have turned down Sidney Crosby had we been that fortunate last year either. I guess if they are really really good, you have to take that chance.
  21. I found that comment interesting as well. I guess you have to know what Blais goals were last year and exactly how he meant that comment, as PCM says. I do think after getting beat up the previous year Blais wanted the team to have some success last year to build confidence. He still had a young team. So handling the non-conf teams may have filled that bill very well. As he said in another interview, the team lacked offensive depth last year, and when WCHA teams focused on shutting down the big line we didn't have much to rely on. Many Sioux fans commented on a lack of offense as being a very large contributor to the late season lack of success, rather than goaltending or defense (Hale)... Parise said he was worn down late last year and worked to be better conditioned this year. Put all that together and Blais might feel that the team did about what they could do last year. I don't remember Blais talking up his team as the #1 team in the nation after the first half of last year. So my guess is his outlook was pretty realistic. Regardless, I think that with good teams you want to play a more challenging non-conf schedule in order to prepare the team for the league play. If you play all patsies in non-conf games, you may not know what to expect when you run into the tough league opponents. I would guess Blais would agree with that.
  22. This is the link on the front page of this site. http://www.uscho.com/m/?team=UND&data=seas...season=20032004 A couple things I like were Blais comments about the depth of this team, and acknowledging the lack of a threat on the 4th line, and Smaby's ability to make an outlet pass. Especially the Smaby thing. Seems like a small thing but this has a chance to really help jumpstart the offensive flow which has struggled so much the last couple of years.
  23. After reading the rosters for both teams it is easier to understand how one dominated the other by a 4-0 score. Wow. I would expect to see Massen on one of the top lines, but if you read much into these lines it almost looks like the Green team was the top forwards lines and D pairings and the White team was the lower of both. Anyone else read it that way? Would be fun to see Saturday's game with the retro jerseys. Cool.
  24. Let's stay in the 5-10 range for the year and fly below the radar. Personally at 5th or higher I think we're getting a few too many "reputation" votes until we prove more on the ice.
