I agree that the area is very underrated. I have been fortunate to see almost all of this country and was actually stunned at the natural beauty. Had I known, I probably would have tried to schedule a couple of extra days into my trip. I will definitely go back some time, and wouldn't mind catching a Big Red game. I would guess Harvard tickets are almost impossible. Any other good rivalries that might have similar atmosphere, perhaps RPI or the North Country teams?

I also give my thumbs up to the Lynah experience. It is definitely an old school rink. What I liked ... Cornell pep band was very strong - gotta love a repertoire that includes the theme from Rockford Files and What Would Brian Boitano do Playing both US and Canadian national anthems - with that UND would do this The fans in general - had a great conversation both nights with the usher for Section O The Ithaca area - WOW! Very scenic and tons of stuff to do. Made it up to Taughannock Falls Saturday which was very impressive. The Olymbia driver - genie on Friday night and Minuteman on Saturday night - good stuff The alma mater (I think that's what it was) during the 2nd Intermission with all the students singing and swaying. Not so much ... From my seats deep at the end of the rink, it could be difficult to see the single scoreboard on the end - also shots are not updated except between periods Way too many banners - A team of Cornell's statue doesn't need a banner for every single NCAA appearance - also the NCAA title banners should be more prominant (obviously just a personal preference, but it's my opinion) I may have expected too much, but the "intimidation" factor wasn't what I was expecting, other than the band it was never deafening (admittedly Cornell only led 18 minutes all weekend) and the purported "clever" cheers of the student section still consisted primarilly of variations of "you suck" chants.

On the other hand, we really have to make hay with the easier league schedule. UM-D could have a huge advantage with a cluster of Tech, UAA and Mankato.

I remember hearing about that facility in Alaska when I was up there for the series against the Seapups. I think it could make a big difference for high school football up there. That weekend they were hosting the high school senior football all-star game, the first ever indoor game as a trial. It seemed to have gone pretty well and could extend their quite short season. I wouldn't be surprised if you start seeing a few more kids coming out of there even to the FCS level. Might be something good to store away.

You'd think we'd figure it out that you need to skate the puck in on the PP on the big sheet. It's idiotic to just dump it in.

The passing on the power play has been atrocious all weekend. Not good on the big ice, where if you can move the puck crisply, you can really feast on the power play.

Well that would certainly fit the Favre profile for a playoff game versus Dallas. I'm figuring at least 3 picks to go with a couple of fumbles caused by Ware. 'Boys by at least 17 and then a return home to meet the Cards at Jerryland for NFC title. -

H1N1 could be the culprit. Age certainly fits the profile.

Seats, bricks, everything that can, should be reclaimed and put up for sale. That is what has happened with Shea Stadium and Yankees Stadium in New York. The Twins also did so when moving out of the dome.

Nothing is going to change until the MEMBER SCHOOLS demand change. Fans can rail all they want, but if coaches, ADs and school presidents aren't doing anything then nothing will happen. That's where the buck stops. Need to end the old boy protection of McLeod. A change there is sorely needed.

Wow, that really screams for a phone call from Faison I think. Get a home game for us this year in late November, and USA gets the extra several weeks of practice, then we go down there the next year, again in late November and USA doesn't have to pay a big guarantee for a game, which as an FBS they will have to start doing.

Why not move the UND-USD to a post Thanksgiving spot. Makes a huge rivalry game at the end of the season, and more importantly gives the couple extra weeks of practice. Perhaps the other Great West schools are opposed to that. The big problem with a 10 game schedule in my opinion is that it is an opportunity lost. A game of experience for the players, a revenue opportunity and an exposure opportunity (more content for FCS or an appearance on the road where we can make people aware of our team and school).

How do you not skate the puck in on a 6 on 4? Those dumps ins are so frustrating.

Griz 24-17 final. Very fun game!! And love that it was in real football weather.

I agree that Texas-Bama will be the matchup, but Texas really got a gift. Even though the clock showed 1 sec the instant the ball hit the turf, that second will always run off the clock and would have at any other point in the game. I'm also not sure even in winning that they proved to be better than TCU, who has blown out everyone. The other bummer is that outside of the title game, it's looking like none of the other undefeated teams will play each other. We could possibly finish with four unbeatens after the Bowls. I'm not sure how the BCS can spin that as a good thing.

I'm guessing SFA wasn't enthused by the subzero wind chills in Missoula today. They may have had a SLIGHT influence on the game. In the FBS, the Cincy-Pitt game was an instant classic and it's nice to see Florida being exposed for the fraud they were. There schedule was very weak. At least Bama had the win over Virginia Tech outside what was a really down SEC this year. Would love to see the 'horns go down to see some new blood in the title game, but if Bama-Texas rivals USC-Texas then that would be OK. Just think what we could have had if the big boys would go to a playoff.

The other interesting thing about these programs dropping football is the availability of their players. I am pretty sure you can transfer and play immediately if your school drops a sport. Don't know what the rules are about schools contacting these kids, but it's a possibility that a transfer from Northeastern or Hofstra could fill a hole for the Sioux. Probably a better option than a JUCO as you know that meet DI standards.

Use some of the Bama cash to pay off one of the other two and see if Georgia State has an off date on either of those dates to ensure they have an opponent. A game in Tuscaloosa would be a huge end of the season reward. About as big a get as you can have for an FBS game in terms of tradition and game day experience.

Let's get the sweep! And on a side note, the anthem singer tonight was outstanding!
