  1. Too funny!
  2. I think North Dakota was up against the salary cap that year.
  3. Haven't read the whole thread but I'll add my take: The Sioux really dominated the game. Jan had only a handful of sustained presence in their attack zone. I thought the D played well except for the JBSU goal. The freshmen didn't embarrass themselves. I was happy with the Sioux offense except we couldn't score. (Duh.) We need to get gritty and crash the net; enough of the highlight pass stuff. It is pretty, certainly, but an ugly grind it out goal counts just the same as the tic-tac-toe dealie. The waved-off Sioux goal happened right in front of me. The puck without a doubt crossed the goal line and proceeded out underneath the back of the goal which was tipped frontwards. I did not see that the net itself had come off its moorings. I think Anderson must've see something definite on the replay to wave it off. I sure didn't see it in person, at real-time. Not having a chance to play for the McNaughton tomorrow is a little bit of a debbie downer. I was kind of afraid of how this team might come out tonight, with Evan and Chay out and only a slim chance at the Cup. They played well. A win Saturday would be nice. Michigan's lead over us in the Pairwaise is just a teeny little bit in the RPI, which I think will flip back if we win. I don't often find myself pleased with a tie, especially at home, but tonight, maybe that was all we were gonna get.
  4. Classic. (Although you owe me a screen cleaning.)
  5. He's got a nose for the net.
  6. I just turned on the Minnesota AA high school tourney and Tyler Landman already has a hatty. Remind me again why this kid hasn't committed somewhere... He's a 90, right?
  7. You say that like there's something wrong with that...
  8. How'd you do that?
  9. ^Thereby proving that professional athletes return to finish their education once their playing days are over.
  10. ^Perhaps a more important question is how and why would any team be named the "Ice Hogs"? That is hostile and abusive.

    Bracketology

That is a really tough bracket for the Number 1 overall seed. I think Moy is off his feed this week. First the .500 kerfuffle and now this mess. The good thing about it is none of this makes any difference. We've got two full weeks of conference hockey left.

    Injuries?

As I posted earlier, losing Genoway for an extended time is a serious blow to this team. Others are going to have to elevate their game(s) to fill several voids Chay's absence creates:

Wow. Talk about putting things in perspective.

    Injuries?

Genoway's absence was particularly noticeable when the Sioux were trying to break out of their own zone; lots of hesitation and indecision on the part of d-men. Losing Evan is a bad deal; losing Genoway is a serious deal.
  15. What? These guys don't get to go to the X? And I've got great seats.
  16. If this is all it takes, I'll give it a try: [ x ] Get lucky Oh, wait a minute. You all were talking about getting tickets, weren't you?
  17. Ironically, your post was made one minute before I received an email from The Ralph saying they are giving away 10,000 pairs of Thunder Sticks before the 14 March playoff game!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
  18. You've got to keep in mind there are only 59 Division I hockey programs in existence. We're lucky there is one dude talking about our favorite sport on the air.
  19. ^At least Nashville wants him? That's gotta be worth something.

I'm thinking Albany would be a nice place to start the process.

    Jeebus......that should be easy.
  22. Hey. UND has never been at the top of the list when it comes to incoming recruiting classes! Just ask Michigan.
  23. That was no knock on JT at all. I simply think Oshie is a more dominant hockey player than Jonathan ever was in his two years of college hockey. And for that matter I think TJ is playing at a higher level today than his linemate Duncan did last year on the way to winning the Hobey. This kid is "NHL-ready" right now; he'll slip on a Blue sweater in mid April and fit right in the lineup there immediately. Obviously Toews was NHL-ready, too. I don't mean any disrespect to him at all. I've seen in person over the years at least half of the Hobey Baker award winners. I do not recall a single one of them being so involved in every play, every shift, every game. And that includes Hrkac.
  24. It's been pretty apparent for at least a couple months now that there isn't a player on the ice who can out-play TJ Oshie. I've heard TH say on the away game broadcasts that Osh is a man among boys. The home games I've seen merely confirm Hennessey's observation. He battles through checks, double-teams, holds, grabs and still manages to find a passing lane, to spot a cutting teammate with a pass. Oshie should be playing in the NHL right now; he simply is that good and that dominant in his play. We are being blessed with a bonus every time he skates a shift for the Sioux. This will be blasphemous but Oshie is carrying the team's bucket right now the way Jon Toews never did. Jon was quietly superb; TJ is like a one-man wrecking crew who no one can stop. His dominance does not show up in the scoresheets the way a Hobey winner's tend to. But I ask, is there a better player in college hockey this year? And if you answer in the way I think you will, how does TJ not get the Hobey? Isn't the award to recognize the best player? I've expressed my disappointment with TJ's
  25. Did I hear something about a bong?
