  1. Whoever gets the NDSU job is going to have a lot of pressure on them. Of course they also have a lot of resources and recruiting advantage that other programs don't have right now. I think the great senior class of NDSU has made Bohl look good too, and the dominance most certainly wouldn't have been the same next year, regardless. NDSU fans have been spoiled, and if their expectations are too high for the new guy, they could put a lot of pressure on him after a few years of even moderate success.
  2. Would love if UND can get good enough in football to have FBS schools stealing their coach. Am glad the hockey program here is considered a destination, not a stopping off point. Of course if coaching salaries in college hockey become as crazy as they are in FBS football, that could change. Just didn't expect Bohl would take a job at Wyoming, a team NDSU beat not too long ago.
  3. No doubt you'll be able to try the donuts at the Ralph at some point, since they already have a coffee/hot chocolate stand.
  4. Don't know about Parks, as he is scoring goals at the same clip that Danny Kristo did in his career, and you would think he would have a good Senior year to improve on that. Don't think Parks has seen near the powerplay time that Kristo did either. Keep in mind he did miss half of the year last year, and when he did finally play, he is half a year behind the rest of the players in conditioning and game speed.
  5. Sounded on the coaches show like Hakstol was going to move Caggiula to try get him going. Whether that means he won't still be with Rocco, I don't know. No question we need production out of him, and really, now that we are half way into the season, we should expect guys like Tambellini, Murphy and Johnson to start finding their stride and putting in a goal here and there to chip in as well.
  6. Keep the Montana quarterback away from her! I know, I know, he was acquitted of the charges.
  7. Once again, this has been said of just about every team Hakstol has said. Look at posts before Christmas and you will see the same kind of frustration year after year.
  8. Actually a lot of media from around the country are calling for Muschamps head at Florida, whereas you get guys like Dave Starman and even the Twin Cities announcers that have nothing but kudos (except for how his teams play ) for Hakstol and the way he gets his guys playing well the second half of the year. Both programs have a lot of built in advantages, but lately Florida hasn't been able to compete that well even with the cream of the crop players.
  9. Fans or media from other teams, or any outsider looking in on this forum with 59 pages of "Fire Hak" discussion, have to be laughing or thinking what kind of crazy fan base we have. I realize that this topic was kind of created out of jest, but it has to appear to others that we are a bit delusional in our thinking, especially when you juxtapose it to the problems our football team has had. Certainly by posting I am only adding to the post total, but if there was a better titled thread that addressed issues the hockey team needs to get better at, that would be more fitting in my eyes, and not make the fan base look so bent on firing every coach that doesn't fulfill the ultimate prize within the expected time frame.
  10. Heard the same thing about Kristo, only it was much more prevalent.
  11. I read in an old Bemidji State thread several years ago that the team was basically devoid of talent, and some people agreeing and that team included Nelson, Kristo and Knight. I also remember another poster saying it was going to be a long winter. So I guess it is all relative to how the fans are feeling.
  12. I think you appreciate the mountains more when you live in a contrasting environment. Bet you people in Colorado and Montana can sometimes take the beauty for granted. Look forward to the trips to the mountains all the time. Where do people that live in the mountains look forward to going? Sioux hockey games?
  13. Yeah, losing Urlacher to retirement after last year and Briggs to injury most of this year, sure put a dent in Chicago's linebacking core that had been a strength for years.
  14. You do realize you are just promoting the gopher stereotype by coming on to someone else's message board and being obnoxious. You may not agree with what people are spouting, but there are ways to disagree, especially when you are a visitor.
  15. Truly is a remarkable streak, but don't think that being beaten by a better goaltender was going to happen often with Raty, probably the best goaltender in the world. With her gone, the chance of beating them with a great goaltending effort is a lot more likely.
  16. So what are the thoughts on Voltin and Rowe? Are they pushed off another year, which makes them look elsewhere?
  17. We know the life of a football coach is a lot of pressure and time consuming. Hopefully he can take a while to enjoy his family before he goes head long into a new job search. Best of luck to him in the future.
  18. I'm always hopeful for a sweep, especially at home. Now would definitely be a good time for one. Don't know if Schlossman has predicted a Sioux sweep this year. There was a time that would be heresy, and a sure bet to be wrong. Need to get back to that sweep at home and split on the road mentality, at least 80% of the time.
  19. 2 tickets each night against Duluth this weekend. 302B, Row G on aisle in 6 seat row above entryway on end the Sioux shoot twice. $30 each ticket.
  20. No, you have a third type as well, those that continually express how bad Hakstol is, but say "I'm not in the fire Hak crowd." So if we are continually underperforming as you suggest, what crowd do you fall in?

    Fire Muss

Yeah, they said 7 of the 11 starters on defense were seniors. Don't know if that was last home game type stuff, but with the year they are having, you start the best players -- period.
  22. Heisenberg shows Chartrand as a Duluth commit. Probably will change that soon.
  23. Tim Hennessey has told the story many times, but thought Chelios committed here then Wisconsin's assistant coach Grant Standbrook made a trip to the families house and he changed his mind. I could be mixing stories and that was another player, but that stands out in my mind.
