I don't know, with Chris Semrau being with that facility, they could possibly work together to put in a bid.
  2. A year of getting stronger, and I might add finishing your degree in case things don't work out.
  3. Penn State is the most undisciplined team I've seen this year. Keep throwing picks up the middle, over pursuing, and basically just running around.
  4. Geoffrion just said the rankings will change because North Dakota lost last night.
  5. I will say he put the stick under his arm, but not until Camaratta clamped down on it and embellished being tugged did it become a penalty.
  6. ... and Minnesota is rewarded for embellishment once again. If it wan't for the power play and Big Ten competition they would be a .500 team.
  7. ... but those true scorers are going to have to adjust to the college game too. I consider Caggiula, Parks and Macmillan finishers. I know what you are saying, but not sure if Boeser, Wilkie, and Gersich will be a step up in their first year, although hopefully one or two could make that kind of impact like a Danton Heinen. If someone comes close to matching Macmillan's shooting percentage I'll be happy, because I think they will all have their chances.
  8. Hope we can get the sweep, but Western spoiled our chances to win the Penrose last year when they beat us at home. Be nice to make up for that and get it done this time around.

It is going to be at Scheels, period. Don't think UND would want to jeopardize future chances at hosting by trying to wiggle out of Scheels and change sites at the last minute. If anything, fans should bite the bullet in order to keep future home ice type advantages in our back yard.

Sounds to me like ice conditions might not lend itself to the best hockey being played. Perhaps the NCAA should have a back up plan that would be logistically feasible in the area -- oh, say perhaps THE RALPH!!
  11. Refs won't be from the leagues of the teams playing.
  12. Sounds like a Q guy, especially playing for Halifax, unless you've heard otherwise.
  13. Do you remember how vehemently he argued why people had the Sioux rated so high preseason when they couldn't score goals in a few games down the stretch last year? I do think he is a Mankato fan though, because he defended Trevor Bruess when he had several cheap incidents. I do think that he is fairly even-handed about his analysis of UND recruits and such but his bias sometimes shows up. I have seen him write bad about the gophers as well though. I guess I can understand if you didn't see the bad officiating in person, it may come across as whining.
  14. On Area Voices Schlossman said he is a defenseman turned forward.
  15. But that line is still scoring, so even though it isn't showing up in assists and goals for Poolman, something has to be working out, whether it being him creating more space for the other two, or what.
  16. I don't see Keaton Thompson sitting.
  17. Well, his dad Dixon played at UND with Coach Hakstol and Jackson, so I would imagine if there is interest they have probably talked about it. Obviously with a 16 year old, I'm sure it's a watch and see type interest.
  18. One thing I like out of this whole situation, is that I haven't heard the same complaining about officiating from the coaches and the players. It is fine for us to rehash all of the poor calls, but it is unhealthy for the players and coaches to get caught up in all of this, as there were still circumstances where they could have changed the outcome beyond the poor officiating. Keep the players accountable going forward, and good things can happen. You are most likely going to get a few bad calls here and there in the NCAA tournament, but this seemed to be a perfect storm of bad calls. Hopefully the way they reacted will put them in good shape going forward, by controlling what they can control.
  19. I think the atmosphere in Scheels Arena is going to be incredible. With all the standing room areas, people are going to really be into the game, and with all the fans packed into a smaller arena, it is going to be loud. Hopefully that atmosphere translates to the adrenaline on the ice.
  20. Would think Taylor Ward is a realistic target.
  21. I'm with the person who said there is no shame in missing something in a fast paced game, as I regularly see things one way then see replay and notice that I was missing an aspect to the play. The key is getting an important aspect such as a goal right on replay. That is what irritates people. I would recommend reviewing major penalties as well, but I'm not confident they would get that right either.
  22. Would there be the same comments about Pete Carroll if that last play works in the Super Bowl? Yes, there are circumstances when UND still could have taken care of business, but it doesn't excuse the horrendous calls. It is just easier not to get so bent out of shape about it when it doesn't cost you the game.
  23. As it stands now, I believe we have the tiebreaker against Omaha, and if we split with Miami we would have more wins than them should the 4 games before that come out even. Our winning percentage is better right now than both, but that obviously can change.
  24. I guess when you say clipping, I understand it in the context of cheap shots, but I also enjoy the lost art of the Curtis Murphy, Glen Klotz hip check, which many times turns players head over heels. It isn't easy to get below the knees and stay on your skates. Now if you submarine someone with the sole intention of taking out their knees, it should be a major and game automatically.
