  1. That's the nice thing about it from the fans perspective, they don't have to buy until they know they are in. Of course they really might take a hit if UND doesn't make it.
  2. I'm not sure I am going to read too much into a few players bad mouthing coaches or a program. Every program has people who leave or don't have a good experience. If fans are always wondering why some players are playing over others with no personal stake in the matter, imagine how it compounds when you are the one that feels they are being treated unfairly.
  3. ... and they are not going to award it to Fargo every year.
  4. Brad retweeted it, so you would think he would see if a phrase like that was really used and in what context... Oh, wait, that would be what a professional journalist would do.
  5. Probably just getting him more playing time and helping the AHL team in the mean time.
  6. In that case, if they weren't ready to accept the answer unless it met with their approval, then don't ask the question in the first place.
  7. Don't know how Sioux fans would react if someone went out of their way to say they are cheering for the other teams in the tournament. I would bet snide remarks would be fairly common in that case as well. Now if Duluth fans asked the question and got snooty from the reply, that's a little different.
  8. Yeah, and teams like St. Cloud who haven't lost many players have a little determination not to have us end their season again. Bottom line is to be playing your best at that time of year like we were this year, and hope that the cards fall right.
  9. Funny they got another offside call to deal with last night with Tufte's goal. It looked like the guys skate was up, but is there a video of it?
  10. Think about it, if they saved it, Idalski would have a lifelong job because he could always contend he was fired because of his stand to bring the program back.
  11. If Duluth's luck holds up like it did for their last championship, Notre Dame will beat Denver after being outplayed badly.
  12. If he can't make the top 12 on our team, the best place he should be is at UND getting an education.

...and attendance is going up in football, not down like WIH even when most tickets were free.
  14. I'm kind of surprised Borgen hasn't signed. Would have thought he or Schuldt would have signed before Cholowski.
  15. http://www.hockeydb.com/ihdb/stats/pdisplay.php?pid=26643 Yeah, there is information missing from his predecessor as well.

  17. May appear underwhelming now, but then again, many people said the same thing when they hired assistant coach Gino Gasparini. Usually you don't hire an assistant coach if things aren't going well, but Gasparini became the cog in turning the program around and to our current success with the litany of coaches that followed. By the way, I know you know this, but just saying the results will tell the tale.

Yeah, isn't pork barrel spending her job as a Senator to bring in money for a bridge to nowhere. Well she should be able to bring it in for a hockey team to nowhere. And we wonder why our taxes go up!
  19. But if Jost sticks around and leaves and plays for the World Juniors, and then however long they decide the Olympic team trains together, you might have lost him from early December until after the Olympics. Sure you always like having someone that skilled, but the continuity wouldn't be that great. It will be interesting to see who will end up playing in the Olympics, and if it is college guys, when does camp start for the Olympics.
  20. Yeah, to be sure there are plenty of guys that can't carry over that production to the next level even after an adjustment period. Needing some of these players to produce early makes your plea all the more relevant.
  21. Kawaguchi with a hat trick after two periods tonight.
  22. Another thing is UND paid for her education which isn't cheap. How often was she out of the lineup over her years here playing for the Canadian National team. Would imagine some of those games missed hurt our chances for the NCAA tournament, but then again UND's program was around to get players on National teams.
  23. Yeah, they said some team allotments were returned. Hard to believe that a team wouldn't be able to sell their allotment.
  24. I still go back to the question of how some people on here were certain this was going to happen, but Idalski had no clue?. Yes, they were a top ten program every year, but people were becoming more and more disinterested. When you're not scoring many goals, and there is no physical play, it just isn't exciting to watch.
  25. Yeah, like your argument that UND should have women's hockey regardless of it being a black hole is a sound argument on it's own.
