  1. Yes, just enough time to where the Kalen DeBoer type option will have taken a position at a major school, thus leading UND to take the safe bet of one of the assistants at the time.
  2. So the person that hated Hak, wanted Chaves to be the AD, wanted Schweigert over DeBoer, and was all about Berry initially, now wants Jackson. Too lazy to look back on how you felt about Brewster. Well, with that history I am sure things will work out smoothly, or sometime within the first year expect you to be opening the Fire Jax thread!
  3. All I know is that if it is Jackson, he better hit the ground running because he has been part of the structure, so the fanbase isn’t going to give him a grace period like they would someone new to the program, regardless of who they lose this offseason.
  4. I thought that the divided locker room had people leaving because of Berry.
  5. The schedule is about to get easier actually, as we probably aren’t considered a blue blood anymore. But you are right, better get our house in order for the changing landscape or we will definitely get left behind in a big way.
  6. The zillion of Fire Berry threads and such wasn’t enough for him to realize dissatisfaction was rampant. When you have ex teammates and players of his talking about changes needing to be made, it shouldn’t be shocking. Maybe he would have expected a heads up, but he had to have felt pressure going into this past year. He also was expecting the season to last longer, even though the rest of us saw which way the wind was blowing. The fact that the locker room was a side show like it was in a few years back, and that falls on the coach.
  7. Are we playing Augustana in exhibition next year? Could be a good time to fire up the Fire thread.
  8. Kind of the run up of picking the new nickname with the possibility of distinguishing ourselves with something creative — instead Fighting Hawks. UND has a history of safe decisions, while NDSU continues a run of dominance.
  9. Especially, if the new guy has the ability and passion to reach new heights for NIL, which reportedly Raboin would be good at. Jackson will be more of the same old school hockey and thinking, and no doubt will sign a lifetime contract for UND to play Bemidji State. Would love to know how he felt about Montgomery playing in place of Croal, Komzak and Littler. Being the leader of the penalty kill, I would think he should have some pull to get Croal in the lineup, which makes me think he was good with Montgomery. Who recruited Monty to begin with, and how did we get the wrong one.
  10. So Dane isn't part of the culture that all of us have witnessed where half the team plays when they are forced to? He is on the bench to, and you would think would be able to light a fire in the team. Gino was 33ish when he took over. Why not start fresh with someone who has that young enthusiasm. When you are with a company or team for 20+ years, you lose some of that passion.
  11. If that's the case, to me it just means once again that they are just like the federal government and throw money around wildly, then ask for more, while continuing down the same path.
  12. There will be a lot of people out at that point.
  13. But he's from California, and we know that they have the reputation for being very humble.
  14. ..and like I said before, swept CC at Robson, and Omaha at Baxter, with as was stated "a Start-Up" program. What are we, 1-5 in our last 6 with CC?
  15. From what some said, he was responsible for getting Cooley and Nies to Minnesota.
  16. Is Denver really going to promote an assistant coach that they originally hired basically right out of college without any other experience? If you're good, you're good. Seems like he impressed a lot of people at Minnesota and St. Cloud. Who is your choice?
  17. Also, don't want another Brent Johnson situation where another year is needed for both parties concerns. I would argue that the way it panned out, Spicer waiting another year was the right decision for both parties as well.
  18. If true, the new coach will have a lot to work with.
  19. The new coach is going to have to decide if he wants to renew scholarships across the board or after doing due diligence from meetings and film, choose to part ways with certain guys.
  20. ...and also to hire the guy who was in charge of the phase of the game that probably kept them out of the tournament -- penalty killing.
  21. Do you disagree with things that happen at your workplace? Do you quit every time you disagree with their philosophy on how to do things. There is always a boss you disagree with, but for most people they realize someone has to be in charge. I think it would be a mistake to not go a completely different direction, but to say that him staying is a lack of integrity isn't based in reality. It is his job, and he has kids in school, so the fact that he wasn't in lock step with Berry but stayed on, says nothing about his integrity.
  22. Didn’t have a problem with anything he wrote. Reading the comments, Berry could have gone another 10 years without an NCAA win and they would still be satisfied as long as he had an overall winning record. Top 20 program isn’t what this program should be happy with.
  23. Some people said they thought Hennessey sounded like he knew the time was short for his friend Berry. Think someone said on the radio that Hennessey asked Ferschweiler what schools he wouldn’t want to coach and he said Minnesota and North Dakota. Did anyone else hear that, because someone just talked about it when discussing Berry’s firing. Don’t know if true or not, but it seems an odd question to ask someone who has a long term contract.
  24. But we know if we play them with him as coach he will be the dirtiest coach that teaches cheap shots!
  25. If it turns out to be Raboin, I don’t think he would bring any players with him, but who knows. I would rather they just fill out the roster another way. I lost all respect for Hastings when he obliterated the roster of the school that did so much for his career.
