  1. I would guess that it would be strongly considered. Don't know how many years she had a contract for, but it doesn't seem to be improving much.

    Spring Ball

At least they won’t have to shovel 5 foot drifts off the field!
  3. Did anyone have Mark Senden as a player that would add more than Weatherby? Of course that may change, but it is sometime a huge crapshoot who is going to transition well to the next level.
  4. So, if we take care of beating them, do you promise to take them to the woodshed the last series of the year instead of resting your players for the stretch run, or playing half throttle? Frankly, that is the only hope for home ice right now, and that seems very unlikely given the results to this point.
  5. Yeah, he did not have a good outing the first night in Duluth. I think he flops way too much for a team like Duluth that can take advantage when you are out of position. They can get you moving side to side, and with Thome, he might be completely out of the net in some of those situations. Here's hoping that he has a little redemption in mind!
  6. The question is, how do you do it to be fair, and not have people traveling crazy distances to school when you don't really care about the sporting end of it. I'm sure the majority of students don't want to drive forever when they are closer to one school. Also, do you allow for legacy exceptions or would it be cut and dried? Tough questions to answer, but it probably is time to start tackling them.
  7. To be fair, it's gotta be hard to schedule teams when many are looking for a sure win, and NDSU has consistently rained on those hopes.
  8. Since we can't use the Scheel being hurt mantra if we don't score, they thought they would sit Jones so that excuse is still in play. We can also use the stats of when Jones is in and out of the lineup from this year and last.
  9. How great of a decision was it for Kaleb Johnson to go play elsewhere this year? Another state title would be great, but for his development, it was a no brainer.
  10. It is an advantage, but nowhere near the advantage of a normal home ice game because you aren't playing on the ice you always play on, and the crowd advantage is mitigated a bit because there are teams from all over, and frankly most of those teams wouldn't be cheering for Central. Like you said, that is the same for all the other sports as well.
  11. Let's see, Red River lost to Bismarck Century earlier in Grand Forks. They were actually closer this time around, and not having two difference makers that will be playing at UND kind of levels the playing field. I have a feeling that Kunz and Montgomery would be two of the top scorers in the state again had they returned, and Davies would be a step up with Kleven as well.
  12. Who is the Panzer on Central now, Braden? I see now that it is. Which Panzer has the projected higher upside, Braden or Jaksen?
  13. Wasn't Cole Spicer the MVP of the Bantam Elite League and Panzer on the 1st team? The fact that they play on the lower lines of Central says a lot. Here is the link. https://www.youthhockeyhub.com/news_article/show/945062
  14. I hope you're not using the "hot goaltender" excuse!
  15. When did you become the biggest pessimist of all time? Gotta say, you sound like all the Hakstol haters.
  16. The one thing that has impressed me is that Berry doesn't seem to have lost this team. Yes, we lost Saturday against Western Michigan, but what I saw last weekend had me thinking we could really make a run, as the players seemed all in. The Scheel injury has really put a damper on that for me though. Here's hoping for the best possible news.
  17. The article talking about older recruits seems a little odd, considering a great number of our current players have played a year or two of juniors and came in with a lot of junior experience.
  18. In the same token, you should see why people have concern, with numerous other things that have happened that have never happened before. The fact that we will finish lower in the NCHC than we were projected to finish for the 3rd straight year is concerning to me, but I'm not ready to pull the plug. Next year will be a tell tale for me, especially if none of the talented freshmen put up any numbers, because that would suggest to me there is more going on than just talent level.
  19. I like our forward recruits coming in next year compared to Duluth's, but obviously recruits can surprise. Luke Mylymok only has 3 goals, 8 assists in the USHL, Jake Hale had 0 points and appears to be with Minot now, and Luke Loheit has 8 goals, 16 assists in the BCHL. If we had guys coming in with those numbers, we would be in all out panic mode. Not sure if they have someone else coming in that wasn't on Heisenberg or not, but they definitely would have probably taken Ryder Donovan next year. Again, as with Mark Senden, stats can sometimes be deceiving, but I like the look of our recruits going forward.
  20. Just because you come off like that, doesn't mean you need to project it to someone else.
  21. Meaning, you don't think Wisconsin will be good next year?
  22. I guess we’ll see, but the slow approach could have included a year of Juniors, but I would have thought that would be determined partly by his draft status.
  23. I think there is still a gap in the level of skating and puck sense from team to team and player to player. If you get some girls that have their head down, and get caught by a good skater, it could get ugly.
  24. I remember getting to UND’s men’s basketball games at halftime of the women’s game for decent seating. At first it was very hard to watch, but gradually it got to the point where I enjoyed it as much as the men’s game, if not more. I would have loved if UND women’s hockey could have been viable financially, because watching Hockey Day Minnesota, I see a lot of improvement, and can envision the day that the Kendall Coynes’ won’t be an outlier, and more and more girls watching Jocelyn’s amazing Olympic winner will be inspired to up the all around level of girls and women’s hockey. It won’t happen overnight, but the skill is getting better.
  25. The thing I wonder about Donovan, is what happens if he sits quite a bit behind Wisconsin’s ultra talented freshmen forwards and what they have coming back? Can he fulfill a job as a role player, and if not, does he bolt for Major Junior if he is drafted relatively high? He obviously wants to play college right away, but is he going to accept the decreased time if he struggles?
