jackson, you newbie, it's been done since the early 80's. i was in attendance as a kid and there's no hidden agenda. it's a sporting event not your philosophy class. lighten up 'eh. you might want to check out P.C. U. of St. Cloud for some educaton. if UND"s mascot was changed to a Zebra...........it'd still be "home of the SIOUX!"

for O'Keefe to say that about Denver is surprising because he's always so negative (about the Sioux) on the broadcasts and gives the opposing teams so much credit. it doesn't matter who won the game today, Denver and their style still sucks!

IM SICK OF THIS B.S.! in any other world the #1 seed gets the night game. especially if the game is being played @ a "NEUTRAL" site i.e. the excel. to further prove the point, when does a play-in winner have to play the #1 seed less than 24 hours later? the only team that wouldn't have to worry about any of the stuff is the goofers. all the better when the Sioux (or bulldogs) kick they're a$$ this weekend.

Relax Siouxper. i have to believe with the talent on this team they'll have a chance to win it all. CB has got to get this team in the right mindset for the end of the year. (unlike last season) splitting up Parise and Bocehnski would be a nice start.

i agree..... Zach is a great hockey player but he still can improve. why does he score so much in international competition? open ice. in the college he has to fight through so many sticks that his size becomes somewhat of an issue. BUT this kind of game will only make him better as a pro player. i think his game has imporved a lot since last year in terms of his strength and play in the corners. he's always been a great 2 way player, which is one reason he's a better player than Vanek. parise will be a good NHL'er, i just think 3-4 years of college will be the way to get him best prepared for the pros. hopefully NJ thinks so too! As Bochenski goes......anyone at the SCSU game on friday can tell you that he should be the leading hobey candidate. he was da' MAN! he's made himself into a complete player over the summer. i've never seen him care so much about both parts of the game. a handful of times he caught a huskie, stole the puck, and turned it the other way for an odd man rush. also, he was a man amongst boys behind the net. he clanged the last shot flush off the post he shook his head as if he couldn't believe he missed it. next time he wont.

As I watched the game in bloomington @ sensor's the Sioux alumni passed out a flyer stating: Joe Sensor's in bloomington & rosevile will be intalling a new digital receiver and satellite dish to accomodate UND's men's hockey starting with the Oct. 31 series against Yale and all other home games this year from the Ralph. I guess the cost of the equipment was justified with the thought of all the beers they'd miss out on selling to ND transplants watching SIOUX hockey. Great win by the club tonight!!!! GO SIOUX

Are you serious? Why would a FAN come up to YOU after a game and give YOU congratulations??? At what point do you have anything to do with the outcome of a game? Are you a player? Stickboy? the obvious dislike for goofers isn't any different than the hatred for the Sioux on Pee-on-ice. please be objective and don't kid yourself. it wouldn't be as fun if the two fan bases loved each other. what would we have to talk about? if the goofers held a 7>4 advantage wouldn't you use it? well, you can't. you're right......the league is stronger becasue of MN players. they crank out more per capita than any other state i would imagine. why would MN have to recruit from other states? if fact, there have been many MN players that have won championships with the Sioux. does UND owe MN anything for that? does MN owe ND anything for having a North Dakotan score the winning goal in the title game last year? NOOOOOOO! think about it........next year the goofers will have almost as many ND players as UND. does it bother you?

KGB- relax........again, this is the Sioux message board and you're going to get homer-like comments about the team rooted for in this forum. i see the same type of posts on Pee-on-ice about gopher players. not everyone in your fanclub is going to have the same intelligent answers to questions like yourself, of course. at least "don't eat the yellow snow" roots for the goofers and not the Sioux.

those big defensemen have bad breath too! in a perfect world Parise would be able to skate thru the zone untouched ala Gretzky but that's a little naive. Heatly was just a bigger player don't you think?

i don't claim to have seen every game but i've seen Vanek spend a lot of time behind the play waiting for it to come the other way. he IS a great player but not a great two-way player which gives Parise the edge. IMO

The WCHA will be naming the individual awards on Thursday before the play-in game. Who will be named ROY this year? I think it comes down to 3 players. Vanek, Stuart, and Parise. I've seen most of UND's games this year and I'd say Parise deserves the award. Although Vanek is a great player and scorer, I still think Parise is a better all-around player. Vanek seems to be one-dimensional in the games I've seen. Stuart has had a very good year but not to the extent of the other two players and hasn't had to be the "man" on his team.

the kid is in high school, i'm sure he has the capability of using correct spelling. is Siouxrock looking for attention?
