According to UND football blog- Monona Grove OL Joel Isenberger commited to UND yesterday.
-
Reading articles he appeared to break his collarbone in preseason and his team thought he was going to miss the entire season. He worked with the trainer for the Hawkeyes and made it back. When he came back, his was .500, they went on something like a 5 or 6 game winning streak. Missing time could be the reason he was overlooked, I have no idea. There is also a story from either end of Dec. or January that talked about how his recruiting was picking up. It was another article that required a membership so I don't know by who. I'd imagine we're looking at him as corner or maybe safety??

I agree its stupid but it was brought up by a ndsu fan who is still probably a little butt hurt after Tuesday night.
-
The good news is I think his replacement is already on staff and has been handling a lot of the recruiting duties. Great coach and tough to see him go though.
-
Thanks for your input. Its noted. When there stops being students who get turned away for tickets, we'll take a look at your recommendations.

Nice update. Congrats Daryl.

Assuming all of our curent reported commitments sign, I'mstill hoping to see a few OL added. We have done a pretty good job at building some depth (2 injuries last year), but I would like to see more added. We know Mussman can coach O-linemen so I'd like to see a Lauer or similar talents commit to add to that line.

Well said Ira

You forgot Hardin. I think if our qb play allows us, we will throw it around next year. I'm hoping either Young or Jackson (or both) fill that bigger, more physical WR role to compelent our other guys. Even though all have proven they won't shy away from crossing the middle.

Agree completely, last night UND played team basketball. I wonder if that is not part of the inconsistency where when we start to play a little to much indivdual, one on one we don't play well. Last night we moved the ball, gave the guys with the hot hand the ball and everyone contributed on defense. It was fun to watch. It was a great win for the program and being on statewide TV it gave each program a chance to show how they match up head to head.

A group of ndsu students was sitting in the row in front of us in the upperdeck and they went down to the lower level with a couple minutes left to as the put it "take the court after we win". There would have been ndsu students on the floor if you could have pulled it out, would that have been as odd to you?

Your players didn't play like this game was bigger for us. They played with emotion and had a reaction after every big shot they hit. Saul didn't act like this game was bigger for UND. Its a lame excuse. NDSU has some good big guys inside and #3 or #4 can shoot it, can't remember his name but kid can shoot. It was a great win for UND and I was proud to be there to watch. Nice work fellas!!!! First volleyball, now mens hoops.

And the groundwork for the excuses begin. How is playing another D1 school a no win situation?
-
We played a home and home and split. Your basing your thoughts on a "what if". I'm basing mine on results that happened when the teams actually played.
-
Guess what my opinion of ndsu and the Summit league will be if UND wins tonight and ndsu goes on to win the Summit league championship? We already beat SDSU at home so I guess we crossed that one off our list. With this game being on statewide TV, the perception of each program will be affected by the outcome of this game. Compare tonights game to the volleyball season. Even though you made the national tournament, there wasn't much doubt about which school had the better team.

That is a good deal. Another feather in the cap when it comes to UND and it's conference's television exposure.
-
That will be an interesting one to follow. Kid appeared to have pretty good size and speed for a safety.
-
Saturday night on the hockey broadcast I believe Faison said the lower bowl was sold out. Not sure how many that seats but that is the last update on sales.
-
Thsi arguement gets old. Lets face it. Summit and Big Sky are equal as basketball is concerned and will flip flop in whatever rankings you want to look at from year to year. Both conferences have their good teams and both have their dogs. UND has beaten and lost to both from each conference. I'd like to see the UND team that beat the top teams from each conference show up tomorrow night.
-
He said it cause he knows as long as Roebuck is at UND they won't play the bison. You can figure out why he wouldn't enjoy that one.
-
This is a basketball thread isn't it? I'm talking all sports. How many times was your volleyball team on TV? How many other basketball games will be televised? Your looking at one sport, I was asking about athletics as a whole. Not even close.
-
Your seriously going argue where the two programs are at as far as TV? That is one area our AD has worked very hard to develop and its not even close. I watched more UND volleyball games on TV this year than what your basketball team will see.
-
While you both have a point here is the way I look at it. It is the season opener and a home game. The attendance should be good with some excitement built from this season along with the hopefully improved marketing this offseason. May as well spend the money on a game that counts for something. Every win is going to count to get to the needed number for playoffs. Our team will be better but I'm not thinking we will be good enough in our first full season in an established conference to have to get to 7 or 8 wins in basically a 10 game schedule. I'd love to be proven wrong but with the inconsistent play last year, who knows. That one extra game could end up being the difference.

That didn't even take long for them to repost on bville. Man, those bison fans are funny with their "hey, look what i found, lets post it no matter the context" ways.
