  1. 660 passing. How many yards can an offense have?
  2. But they didn't to all the bold above. The only thing that kept Montana in this game was us stopping ourselves with penalties and dropped passes. I saw nothing that made me leave thinking Montana should have won this game.
  3. Depends on the kid. Its not like UND has never had an exceptional defense. This is a program who has always been known for its defensive play. Just need to get more athletes on that side of the ball right now. Sounds ok to me if I thought I had the ability to contribute right away.
  4. Eastern Washington could end up winning the nat'l championship this year. We layed an egg at their house. Regarding the other teams, we have close loses to an FBS, and two other teams that are ranked near the top of most polls, not excusable but it is what it is. You can't argue where those teams are in the polls. We have a young offense with alot of skilled guys returning but still some spots where a young player could come in and play right away. Our defense is full of opportunities to come in and get early playing time. If I'm a young kid I see a chance to get some early run on a pretty good team that has some work to do defensively but offensively is already one of the best in FCS. Doing poorly? This team still has a realistic chance to finish .500 against the argueably one of the toughest schedule in FCS this season. Its not where I wanted to be, but it isn't the end of the world either if you step away from the ledge.
  5. Well said bin. A month ago we are complaining how the school to the south takes no action for their players getting in trouble. Now one of ours does and coach suspends him and we are getting on him about when he announced it. In my opinion at a lunch full of booster while your talking about which players will be out tomorrow is a bad place. I don't know the whole story behind it but one thing you can't question about Mussman is his stance on team discipline.
  6. Depends which fanbase you ask. We already know how you'd answer and its not even February yet.
  7. First, the NCAA wouldn't let them leave. They would clapse to their every demand if/when they make a push to split. Second, you act like they couldn't pull it off. (For the record I think they eventally get in their own division, not create their own association) For the amount of money they would be making by doing it, I'm guessing their is someone else out there as bright as Mark Emmert who could lead the organization and its not like they would have to rewrite a bunch of bylaws.
  8. Your assuming that LSU and Alabama keep getting the most talented players every year. In your example that may be the case and that would justify your reasoning. In regards to NDSU and the scholorship reductions, they didn't.
  9. I don't disagree but i think Welch (sp?) could be a guy that could be a big DE for us if needed. I also am still big on Cummings. I think he is going to finish as a good one. Edwards from everything I have heard needs some expierence on the DL but has all the tools to be a stud next season. But I agree, we need to get some depth there and better play.
  10. Great post as usual Ira. In regards to the defense I really think the coaches recognized the need at LB and that is why they recuited 5 in last years class. I won't be surprised to see them get aggressive at that position again this year along with secondary. Saturday is going to be a lot of fun.
  11. UND has/will have #2, 4, 5, and 6 in a 5 week stretch.
  12. Never as good as it seems or as bad as it seems. I'd love for this team to win every game as well but our schedule has been brutal to say the least. There will be some decisions to be made in the offseason. The coaches now have seen first hand what the best of the Big Sky week in and week out has to offer....we have some holes to fill. The players need to make a commitment to this team. There has to be a commitment to staying in Grand Forks during the offseason and getting the most out of those workouts. The formula is there, past teams who have been successful have had 80% or better during the summer months. And we are not playing DII anymore. This should be an expectation.
  13. I agree with this. There will be a good crowd this weekend for what is hopefully an entertaining ball game.

    2013 Recruiting

Recruiting doesn't stop in season. Also as a recruiting coordinator, it is part of his job.
  15. There was a college team who did that a couple weeks ago. There has obviously been a couple but I believe it was South Carolina who ran an entire series with two qbs in the backfield. Not that I want to do have an offense based on trickery but Marcus is definately athletic enough that he could be motioned around everywhere and really keep the defense on its heels.
  16. Thats what you meant by that post? Could have fooled me.
  17. This post is comical. Why do you think that?
  18. I am worried if Benjamin is not healthy this week. As poor as our defense has played you can notice the difference of him being in the game and a backup NG being in. If we are short a starting NG and LB and a backup LB up the middle this week, it could be a long game. The thing that worried me against Poly was knowing they were going to be in 3rd and short all game long and how our defense was going to respond. We couldn't get off the field in those situations. I see NAU being in a lot of those same situations this week. How is our defense going to play on 3rd and short? That to me is the key to this game. I need to see something out of our defense this week.
  19. Or he can answer it like he did and decline to say who it is.
  20. I see Mussman's comments as coach talk. I think he know's which qb is starting but with each having such different strengths he is forcing Northern Arizona to prepare for two completely different styles.
  21. Nice job ladies. Great win. Even better when its in Fargo.
  22. I understand that. That is why I keep asking the question of why people in positions of power at NDSU seem quick to point the finger at the company who did the hiring when it is plain for everyone to see, except some people that the finger should be pointed at the employees and the employees only. Thanks for answering my question and just going off of history I'm guessing that something else will come up on Fargo's football team to make this go away. The past 5 years is a pretty good indicator of that.
