  1. The general tone on this board was one of "problem solved" - Look, I'm not trying to take away from what this group did in the last two games - It is obviously a bunch that worked their butts off. But remember, only 4 games ago they were still a huge concern. The point I was trying to make was only that we are all in on Bubba Ball and that means we have to be dominant in the O line - otherwise things go sideways in a hurry. I see O line as our number one recruiting need.

I don't think anyone would argue the need to continue to recruit OL.

4 games ago was the problem the OL or was the problem a true freshman QB under center? Our starting rb rushed for a total if 650 in those 4 games.

  2. Joe was developing this season as a QB and a leader. Just like Jer Garmin who so many people threw under the bus, as the oline developed, so did Joe and Garmin. I don't think it is fair to throw either Mollberg or Bartles under the bus. Oline was maturing and developing along with them. Studsrud hung in there and hopefully will benefit from the experience. If Mollberg can't come back, Bartels is a very capable QB if you give him time and receivers, but same goes for Joe. I know you don't see it but Bubba and the staff did and that is all that matters. Doesn't matter how much hype a kid comes in with. Once they are here they need to adjust to the speed, size and skill at this level. Doesn't matter who started this year, if someone else develops at a faster rate or someone else struggles, Bubba and staff will go with the guy who gives us best chance to win. If Bartles and Mollberg are both healthy, we have 2 decent QB's and a promising young kid in Studsrud. We still need 2 more quality recruits at QB.

Unless one is a transfer or it's the top two qbs on the board I don't think we can bring in two this year. Too much depth to develop to spend on a position where only one can play.

  3. I assume Francis will start for the next 4 years at center. Stockwell looked really good against NAU. Miller has looked good very strong when he's gotten in. Haven't seen Bell play, he was highly touted. Meehan has improved a lot. Anderson is rock solid. We shall see how Cox develops, he has a nice frame though. The recruits that are committed now all look beyond solid. I want them all to redshirt but if anyone is ready, they should play.

We could have a line that looks like this: Stockwell Anderson Francis Miller Meehan

Last years OL recruits- Steiner, Francis and Delmon Taylor were guys who had offers from MVFC teams that generally have solid OLs along with several FBS offers. I'm hoping they have a good offseason and at least one is ready to go and at least another can give minutes for depth.

  4. That would open a huge problem, UND would want a video board, NDSU would want a new stadium paid with the oil money.

The problem is the state of North Dakota has 11 (by my quick count) state funded colleges. Drawing the line on which projects to find would be a nightmare. I am all for out state keeping state money out of projects like this.

  5. Also, the players to finally realize that summer conditioning is the key to successful programs and 100% attendance in GF this summer. Baukol to figure out a way to do something with them when they do. Have the guys who need to bulk up lift twice a day. FU has done this for years and it's worked wonders. Need to dedicate themselves to conditioning as well and be equally as conditioned as fu next fall.

Offseason needs to be the best and most challenging this program has seen. Time to be a D1 program.

  6. Domo Blackmon to develop into the player who had multiple FBS offers

Drew Greely and Brandon Dranka to each out on 15 lbs

Dylan Baaker and Harmeston to add some depth to the already solid LB crew.

Tank Harris to be a solid backup NG.

Another tall, athletic safety to play alongside Reyes

  7. Secondary and WR are two of the easiest fixes on a team. I'll be very interested to see who they bring in and how Flowers, Harris, and Carter develop.

Harris played a good game today. Carter was solid early in the year. Hopefully Flowers develops into the player we thought he could be.

  8. Rebuilding? Rebuilding what? It's not like we made the tourney last year.

If any other team was conference runner up and lost 95% of their scoring they would be written off. He also lost the best player in the conference last year. I think he's actually built a better team despite having much less experience.

    I call that rebuilding.

  9. UND sounds good. More unselfish talent playing this year apparently. Potential for a surprisingly good season perhaps?

I said after last season and I still believe this team will be better than last because the defense and team ball will be much improved.

Nash has the potential to be the go to guy but is also much more unselfish than Huff was last season.

Montana is wearing this tomorrow against Montana State.  The back bumper will have the counties of the state on them.  Troll on, Montana!  I like it!

Those helmets are sharp.  Even better that they are bringing them out vs. MSU.

  11. Does anyone know if he runs track??  He looks like a track runner and point being he could shave another 10th off his forty and be a viable 3rd down back or slot WR option next year.

I'd like to see him as a slot reciever.  We tried running jet sweeps, etc this year with Brandon Walker and he isn't fast enough to be a huge threat there.

Stretch the defense sideline to sideline as well.
