He's pretty hurt that Payton didn't get offensive POY.

Yet please remember Payton's performance at the Alerus against what he believed was a non playoff team.

There are two dents in the north garage door if anyone needs a reminder

  2. Challenge with Jerry running the RPO is he is not a threat if he keeps it.  He might gain 7 or 8 where Simon can house one.

If that is the offense going forward, Simon being more of a running threat could create more space for Siedel who has been quiet as of late as well.

Someone said it earlier but getting all the pieces back this week gives me hope the offense is due for a breakout next week

Und needs a stable Summit because where does UND put its olympic sports if too many teams leave or get kicked out?  Plus, maybe one day UND moves up to football only FBS too. There's so much realignment happening, why do something that negatively affects your own conference and builds a bigger divide with your closest school?

There will always be a school willing to move up.  Maybe it’s an old NCC school but if we aren’t going to invest in those sports, why does it matter?  Attendance will always be the same.

For the remaining Summit schools, any additional money NDSU gets from FBS football will filter to these Olympic sports   You are also competing for fans across the state, why make that easy

The approach from the school needs to be you are competing for students.  NDSU isn’t going to do any favors so why make it financially easier?

There are different tiers to this for me. I really liked @wheelsup last sentence. The idea of a G6 FBS isn’t very appealing, but, the FCS appeal is also hanging on by a string. The appeal is with the other Dakota / Montana schools.

NDSU going alone, I’ve come to terms with. They’ve won. IF they go with say SDSU (which is who they would go w/) it would be devastating to UND athletics.

NDSU fundraises extremely well, promotes themselves extremely well. Doesn’t Team Makers yearly make over 2X what Champions Club does? Like others have pointed out, their campus is a dump, low enrollment (which for G6 all Dakota schools have). There are risk factors. I wouldn’t bet against them, but seems difficult to double your athletic budget to get in line with G6 programs (not in MAC or Conf USA).

UND needs to be treating this as if their athletic lives depend on it. Positioning themselves to move to G6. Which means fundraise fundraise fundraise.

    Well said.

And again I would add aligning with the remaining Summit members that it’s off the table if they leave in their own.  Not sure how they do it but have to make it a challenge to move on their own.  Not having a bus league for Olympic sports makes it nearly impossible.

  5. I will also add that if a football only invite does come for NDSU, the remaining Summit/MVFC members better be ready to push for a vote to remove them from the Summit league.  NDSU will still be a competitor so why make it easy for them by providing a bus league for other sports.  FBS should be the goal and the quickest path for all of these schools (Dakota) to move is together.

Yea if they leave us out then it just signals SOS doesn't matter and you should schedule cream puffs to pad your wins I guess

Until next time when strength of schedule matters, or quality losses matter……

The problem with leaving it in the hands of a committee is it’s in the hands of a committee.

I think we should be in but really don’t see 6 teams from one conference making it.  I think that leaves us home.

You schedule games to win regardless of how tough they are.

The reward to playing tough games is proving you belong and winning.

At what point in your logic is a team not qualified?  Say an fbs team was 6-6 and lost all six by five or less to all top 10 teams.  Close in score but definitely not boat raced. Should they be qualified for the fbs playoff bracket ?  Would that be rewarding?

it’s simple.  You need to win

Your argument will play out in the FBS selections in about a month.  You are going to see teams walk away from scheduling “premier” games.  Ole Miss will be example number 1 of non conference schedule that will limit risk of losing

sucks for fans but with how quick fans will call for coaches jobs when they lose its coming

Honestly, I would anticipate 100% that he plays and only be surprised if he’s not playing come game time. The playoffs start on November 22nd….

Big boy football upcoming in the Alerus Center. LFG LGH JYDs

UND needs to anticipate he plays but honestly I think SDSU knows he’s done for the year and isn’t going to say anything until after they are 7-5 in hopes the committee sneaks them in.

Yeah you’ve lost me. Coaching doesn’t matter [implied] is all we get to whenever you get these type of comments coming out and anyone who pays attention to college football knows that’s not true

Ok.  I forgot.  All players not named Romfo get a free pass

Yeah that’s not accurate, at all. They’re connected all week and even during the game. They’re one in the same duder

Watch the last few games and the reads and throws he making.   At some point the player just needs to execute.

Also not giving the OC on play call selection right now. Run the damn ball

You know who teaches him the progressions right… the ol’ qb whisperer himself, the qb coach, the oc, the original big10/nfl man himself

Not much to do with coach right now.  No touch to wide open WRs, rushing throws and not capable of checking off his first read.

I highly doubt there would be mutual interest anyway. But that is the type of player Hutter is going to need to add in the near future. We desperately need scorers. Need to maybe take a run at Bergan Kinnebrew from Mary, if she's willing to leave Bismarck. Not recruiting her out of high school was a major mistake. She is every bit as good as her high school teammate Logan Nissley (now at Nebraska) in my opinion.

Agreed.  Should have went after her last year.

Why haven't we seen JTJ in certain packages near the goal line similar to with what we did with Quincy?

Cause he’s in a boot and hurt
