Because it worked so well last year when we had to build almost a full roster through the portal.

Can’t keep the roster as is either.  He should have a good feel for who is going to contribute in the next couple of years.   Sitting in a 7 win roster might get you 10 next year……which likely still puts us in the conference play in game.

beating mayville bismark and dickinson can hardly be considered wins, he won 4 d1 games and he also lost a pre season scrimmage with d2 Morehead, oblivious

Which is why we need players to leave to free up some scholarships but it seems our coach is very loyal to his team and they all enjoyed their time here so much playing for him that they are in no hurry to portal.

u mean und lost out on a home state recruit to another team that offers rev share a 20 plus win every season proven coach with a multi-year extended contract??? im totally shocked

So did you regional peers you claim are doing it better in NDSU and USD.  You slipping in your complaining.

did the refs make them miss numerous wide open layups and airball threes...hit the side of the backboard...bounce passes straight out of bounds....

"they tore her jersey off!! (replay shows she did it herself)"

Watching women’s basketball that happens regardless.  The reffing yesterday didn’t add to the game flow.

Last night set women’s basketball back 20 years. It was unbelievably bad

If that reffing is at all an indicator of how they are going to let the men play tonight, put the pads on

I am guessing its the players mom the way they write.

Pretty much lost all credibility with the constant bitching and flip flopping back and forth on how we do it and how everyone else is doing it.

UND loses out on another recruit to summit league USD, i just cant believe a recruit would pick a school whose coach has a multi year extended contract over UND's lame duck coach who doesn't have a contract, just shocking!!!Screenshot_20260402_210443_X.thumb.jpg.024f446dd5c87251b6889f2f3da841c2.jpg

2027????  I thought all these other regional schools were had all their commitments by the time they were 8th grade.

Whether you agree with @undwbbdeservesbetter or not, one thing is clear:

The UND WBB program is a toxic dumpster fire.

There's a lot of blame to go around, but I don't really care about who's most responsible for the mess. I just want someone to clean it up.

The current state of the program is a disgrace and an embarrassment to the proud tradition built by Gene Roebuck and others.

They win 7 games this year.  Not exactly earth shattering news he is bringing.  Anyone who watched the girls could tell you we lacked talent to compete.

Bringing in some new pieces on staff and hopefully some new faces can turn things around.

how did 26 and 3 in his last year at mayville just about get beat by bismark college in their first season as a 4yr institution at home???? yes it's a fact watch the replay bismark college outplayed us and out coached us... tape don't lie

Cause our team was not very talented this year.  Some times it’s the Jane’s and Jan’s and ours were not that good.

The coaching wasn’t very good either so plenty of improvement and blame all the way around.  Guessing the players were plenty frustrated only winning 7 games and  I don’t blame coaches for “benching” players at the end of the year and trying new lineups.  When you have 7 wins I’m not sure it really matters.

My best guess is by that time of the year playing time was earned by more than just 10 pts/10 rebounds but I’m only a fan in the stands that consistently watched 20+ turnovers a game.  Most of them had nothing to do with coaching and just players getting outplayed.

The level of people plugging their ears and moving goalposts to pretend that nothing is wrong is astounding

I’m going to assume you have been following the women’s basketball threads (or lack of) all year.   I think everyone is aware there are issues.   I also think most are realistic enough to know they were there before this year and a coach was not going to fix them in one year with the roster turnover the program had.

I'm sure she would consider the UND women's team in with the Bison and the Rabbits - seems legit

She doesn’t fit what NDSU needs right now unless they have roster movement.  SDSU, not sure.

The program can’t complain about not competing but throw their hands in the air when good, local players become available.

in regards to Mark, he’s well connected and knows the game that is recruiting right now.  Can’t blame him for wanting the best for his kids who have the talent to make some money.  Also, what’s another parent posting on a message board??

Went to college with Mark - daughter was the NSIC North Division player of the year at Mary.  Wonder if there is a potential fit?

EDIT to note:  She is following the other three Dakota schools on Twitter but not UND.....

Probably a long shot but she’s a player you out the chips on the table for.  With what I have seen from our guard play she’s a day one starter.

limiting turnovers and finding a scorer on this team is a step in the right direction.

well why dont you ask the athletic department for a spreadsheet of the wbb programs budget for the 25 26 season and then in your head compare those expenditures vs what bringing a top tier summit league experienced contracted coach in and 3 or 4 top paid d1 assistants with extensive experince at the the level and that would demand better nutritionists dobos athletic trainers strength coaches bigger budget for training table meals all year like every other summit league team gets off season and summer workouts included not just pizza after the game like it is here, no meals provided here off season or summer, chartered flights instead of charter bus to fargo to save on commercial tickets vs paying grand forks ticket prices just to save a few bucks, add all those up what a an incoming coach with any experience at all would demand before excepting the position and its pretty common sense that those demands would easily cost the athletic department a half a million dollars a year more than they paid in 25 26.... yes most summit league schools charter flights und takes a charter bus ti fargo and back to save on ticket prices vs using its own airport.... none of which they tell you in a recruiting visit

Chartering flights for other Summit league schools is not accurate.  I fly in and out of Fargo regularly in during basketball season it is not uncommon to be in flights with Summit league teams.  Yes, including UNDs.

  14. I still think an internal comparison of spending/sport is more important and valuable.

Basketball is still at the top of untapped potential for school exposure and opportunity for return and should be funded appropriately.

And 10 mins after I speculate, Marley posts an Instagram post that really makes it seems like he will most likely be staying. If Marley stays, A3 stays and vice versa

Be great if they could keep a young core and go find a few pieces.  Got some valuable experience this year, feels like they found an identity…..finally.

Well, it looks like the go to like WDAY, Dom, Jeff and Herder have all been replaced by TBM (The Big Mountain).  Was it really an upgrade?

Troy, Sac St and possibly Eastern Michigan are my guesses.

Minimum 6 years down the road. 2032 at the earliest and then why would the G6 want to expand and let anyone in with a pulse from the FCS. They would want to hold onto any of the media money and keep their G6 championship their own. No network will be clamoring for a team from Grand Forks or brookings or Normal, Illinois to get invited to a conference to sweeten a TV contract.

NDSU will be in a better place when and if that happens. And if the FCS teams want to think they will be paid to enter an FBS conference when that happens, good for them. They will be in the third tier for a long time.

And no one is paying for a team from Fargo, ND or Laramie, WY in that same scenario.

What will serve the G6 schools well will be tighter conference footprints and minimized travel costs.  Some of these G6 schools can’t afford the level they are at now, they will be hurting even more minimum 6 years from now. That is where the FCS schools that are ready will see an opportunity IMO.

But he really doesnt have to do anything as NDSU has been a good conference mate and hasnt violated any rules for such an action.  And they arent about to on one of your whims. Correct.:)

The NDSU AD stated last week they have one foot out the door.  That’s good for the conference how exactly?

The women have some really tough games left. Obviously, NDSU (2X) will be a complete handful for the gals.  It's almost at the end of the season, and as we know UND has struggled bigtime.  There was a lot of emotions around Jocie leaving for the rival.  Several said she would regret it.  She has now started all 24 games for the Bison, averages 10.8 ppg, and is on a team that is 22-2. Did she make the right move?

    Who????

Kidding.  This year obviously she did.  College athletics change year to year so only time will tell for her entire career.
