  1. Think all three of them are going to hang around for the next three years?  One of them is leaving or quitting, not saying it's Studsrud but there is no way all three stay.  Not with all having gotten a taste of playing time.

If one of them doesn't seperate themselves from the pack, the above scenario isn't a huge deal.  When two QBs are brought in during the same class, I don't believe the expecation is that both will stick it out if they don't change positions, unless they are happy being the backup.

I don't see Studsrud going anywhere.  He will be given the same opportunity he was always going to get to earn the job.  Now he will potentially have some game time under his belt.

  2. They've got the USD show on Tuesday nights after UND's on Midco.  I might check out what the crazy old fart has to say tonight.

It will be interesting to see if he is still wearing his green and yellow knee pads.

  3. weak part of the schedule.

    Been referenced often.

When looking at UNDs schedule, I would say the part of the schedule pre bye week was/is more difficult than the post bye week schedule.

  4. I think Omaha is an up and coming team in the Summit.  Basketball there is getting some love with a new arena and some funding it probably hasn't had in the past.  Their location also is near some solid metro areas to recruit from.

  5. Given the performance vs a 1 win SUU team, and the injury situation, we should probably stop referring to the remaining teams on the schedule (outside EWU) as "weak".

Don't think anyone referred to them as weak compared to UND but UNC and Weber aren't playoff teams.

  6. If Bartles is hurt and Studsrud is the next man up, than I say pull the redshirt. Neither QB has cemented them self as a starter for next season, let's get him some game reps and see what we have.

If it doesn't look like the potential is there, than look for a transfer.

  7. Just stating what I have been told from players I know.

Why would Joe Glenn make that comment if it wasn't the truth?

For the record I have no clue about Bubba's staff recruiting methods. He probably is much different than Lennon and Muss.

So do you know the entire context of your "buddies" conversation? What were they talking about? Your telling me they just walked into the room and the UND staff started bad mounting FU. Right.

Maybe UNDs staff is having success recruiting the area and Joe Glenn is frustrated. Why would a big sky team be on his mind? Why would a team he had never played be in his mind? It's funny how much area coaches and fans are concerned with UND all of a sudden. I don't hear Bubba crying about other schools and coaches. He's actually being proactive and wanting to settle things on the field.

  8. I have a few friends that played for NDSU, but who UND wanted bad. One was recruited under Lennon and the other 2 under Muss.

What Joe Glen said closely resembled what they told me about their visits with UND. They said more time was spent trying to convince them why NDSU and SDSU sucked rather than time spent discussing the program at UND.

Haha. Was it your buddies or your brother in laws, brothers buddies? Have to get the relation correct.

You understand no one here feels sorry for you or FU or USD. The things other schools were telling kids when UND was going through the nickname debacle makes your comment even more hilarious.

  9. It was a weird press conference. I am guessing some USD fans are hoping he retires after listening to that press conference. He was just a little strange. You can see why USD's program seems to be going the wrong direction fast.

I imagine his pregame speech was a motivator. If I was a recruit I would really question the program, staff and support.

  10. An out of place classless comment by Glenn - his post-game was like a recruiting speech for FU - if a coach has a beef with something he heard another school is saying he should pick up the phone and take it to the source.. UND has been the victim of negative recruiting for years during the nickname controversy. I'm hoping that means that UND is hot on the list of some strong South Dakota recruits.

If I was a USD fan I would be embarrassed by that press conference. Could a coach seem any less interested in his program? He is deflecting everything he can from his own program and seems embarrassed talking about it. I'd say his comments about UND have to do with us now having a staff that actively recruits his area and he is not happy about it.

  11. I think an NDSU move to the Missouri Valley in all sports is more likely than either the Sun Belt or Big Sky. The Indiana State media have been saying all along that the MVC should add NDSU, and now they say there may be some movement among the conference schools that it may be a good idea. They are afraid that with the football success that NDSU is having that they are becoming more attractive to FBS conferences (like the MWC or MAC) and that the window may be closing to get them in the MVC. NDSU has powerful allies in the MVC, like both ISU's, and UNI. They just would probably have to find a private, non-football school to go with them, possibly ORU or Denver. .

You have a link to the Indiana St media story or the traction it's gaining?

  12. One needs to drive by the construction site to realize how massive this building is actually going to be. Very, very excited to see the finished product.

Took your advice and drove by yesterday afternoon before the hockey game. That is one impressive building footprint.

  13. The MVFC is the best in the FCS.  They had a point in not getting teams in.  I don't agree that they should automatically get 4-5 teams in but if any other conference gets 4 then they should likely too unless a team has 5+ losses.  Big Sky is maybe 3rd best I'd say.

The MVFC may only finish with 3 teams with less than 5 losses.  And I'm not sure SDSU can afford to lose 2 more with one of their wins being vs. Oshgosh College.  Wouldn't be surprised to see 2 in from the MVFC after the season shakes out.  FU and Illinois St.
