You those mean ol' N.D state auditors with UND accounting degrees and an axe to grind with NDSU? That'll be the next spin.
Your absolutely right Shawn. This usually sums it up:
-NDSU does something good= Great vision and leadership
-NDSU does something bad= The media and UND alumni are holding us down. Its their fault, their jealous.
-UND does something good= You could not have done that without the great vision and leadership at NDSU. Just riding NDSU's coattails.
-UND does something bad= Poor leadership and vision at UND. Trying to cut corners and just be a follower.
My 3 year old nephew takes the same approach when comparing himself to his peers.
This is the mentality that the past leadership had at NDSU as well. If you weren't with them than they basically told you to !@#$ off it was Joe's way or Joe's way, thats the only two options. It worked for him, I won't deny he did great things for NDSU and North Dakota. But when you take that stance you have to understand people are going to jump on you for mistakes you make, not cause of jealousy but because along the way you told them to !@#$ off and did it your own way and now they are just returning the favor.
-
You mean they don't give a $1.8 million dollar bonus to the school with the most students? Boy a person sure would have with they way ndsu supporters throw that enrollment number around.

Congrats to the Bearcats and also congrats to the Lakers on yet another trip Florence. Both first class programs and it was an entertaining second half to watch.
-
There aren't a lot of threads on bisonville that don't end up without someone bashing UND. It makes them feel better about themselves. Its easy to talk !@#$ about another team when you know you don't have to play them.
-
These 'su idiots are so stupid they can't even come up with a creative user name! Here's what this bison DOUCHE came up with...siouxyabunga
SERIOUSLY? It should have been "Sioux-a-BUNGA!" - not "Sioux YA bunga" you STUPID MORON!!
Try to remember...when you're a POSER on a UND board and actually competing against people who are attending a real COLLEGE and with REAL ENGLISH CLASSES??? Do some research.....GOOGLE your possible answer? any road - just F*cking TRY to be original (FOR ONCE!) you idiots!
Their response will be and I quote "Just cause I don't walk around with green colored glasses on you don't think I'm a Sioux fan? I'm just concerned about our programs."
They do walk around with green colored glasses, just the wrong shade of green.

Seems we have something of an epidemic recently of new, ultra-critical "Sious fans." Good thing they "got over" us and moved on years ago.
I agree. I love the recent addition of fans that are suddenly so concerned with UND and how poor we are in everything. They all seem to have the same tone with their concerns but couldn't tell you a thing about what goes on during games cause they never go. Can you imagine how bad things would be if we where actually still their rival and they cared about us

I don't see it as a big deal. It gets more Summit teams in and more money for the conference. One extra weekend...big deal.
Making the tourny won't lose any prestige.
For the record: "because it's good enough as it is" is NEVER, EVER a legitimate reason to not attempt to improve something.
Well in that case they may as well let everyone in. Than the NCAA will NEVER, EVER have to improve it again.
-
You'd get twice the pay-out from the tournament if you get two teams. And the first rounds are played on weekends, right?
They will still travel on a weekday. It will take away some of the prestige of making the tournament when almost all teams from the Big East, ACC, Big Ten get in. It will still be nice for the small teams but now they will just have to play to get into the main part of the tournament. Win the summit, get into a play in game. That sucks.
-
Anything that cold help the Summit get two into the MBB tournament gets rubber stamped by me.
Would you even consider the first round part of the tournament? Are they going to hand out participation ribbons to everyone as well? The NCAA just cares about the almighty dollar.
One of the excuses for no playoff in football is missing class time. So what will we do for basketball, we will have 32 more teams miss class time. Is Gene Taylor the head of the NCAA? This makes no sense to me. Why fix what isn't broken?

To be the size of Miller you'd better be blazing fast at this level and from what I've witnessed he doesn't possess that type of speed.
Of course both of these might be partial scholarships and that is a bit different.
I just don't want us to offer kids because they are from N.Dak. I want to offer kids that can help us get to a level we can compete for a national championship.
Sorry for the negativity. I have just been very frustrated with what I have seen out of my two fav. sports..mens BB and football....
What don't you like about Miller? The kid put up great numbers for the best team in North Dakota. You can't argue that he can't play the game. Some guys can just play and get it done. I think there where more than one good back in ND this year. There where two that where almost identical players and we got one. As far as Carr, I'm willing to take a chance on a kid that averaged more than 10 yds per carry. I made a few phone calls to some work associates I have from the western part of the state and heard a lot of good things about this guy. Heard he is a guy with a lot of talent. These are guys that saw him play on more than one occasion and a guy that coached against him was very impressed. Overall I'm very happy.
fgoSioux, every post you have is negative in some way so you may as well go back to bisonville. I'm sure in your mind these guys aren't good enough to play for your 3-8 bison. Thats fine, we'll let the coaches at UND who have put together 3 real solid recuiting classes in a row do thier thing. If you where a Sioux fan and been to a game this year you would know that.
-
Your awfully negative for being a 'Sioux' fan. The last few posts out of you seem really familiar.
I agree. 5 posts and all of them negative towards UND generally raise some eyebrows.
Either way welcome to the board.
-
Agree, like in-state talent.
Problem is I have seen both these kids play and don't think they are Div 1 players.
div II yes..not div 1
I have seen Miller play and an arguement could be made for him. Has good speed, not great but has great vision and is a pretty smooth player. Don't know if he'll be a back but he is a very good athlete and there is always room for them. He was probably the 2nd best RB I saw this year in North Dakota and was very close to the young man from Whap. in my mind. Miller just isn't as fast.
Don't know much about Carr. I do remember reading an article about him though that about halfway through the year he was averaging over 15 yards a carry. That is impressive. Either way its good to get some local talent. We've had pretty good luck with North Dakota kids in the past and hopefully these guys continue that. Welcome to UND guys.

YOUR MESSAGE BOARD SAYS

COMMITTED TO NDSU. they said NDSU and Southern Illinois for offers, nothing on UND, so once again, rivals confuses NDSU with the naia und.
carry on. and i'd appreciate you people would quit PMing me on here, cuz then I have to click on it and end up on your site, argh. thank you, see you in 2212.
Actually lakes it says Southern Illinois was taking interest in the forum no offer mentioned. That is directly from his coach. Nothing about any other offers other than NDSU. Thanks for the update though and hopefully we don't hear from you again until 2212. Take care.

Offer to Minnesota Mr. Football Zach Vraa. We could definately use the help at receiver. We'll see if this award gets him a little more recognition and a few more offers.
-
you guys ever get the impression that you are very arrogant? what have you guys ever done? after being on this board i'm starting to favor NDSU
What was said that was arrogant? All you ever do on this board is critisize our fan base but still you call us arrogant. I like how you come on another teams board and call fans arrogant for talking about thier team. WTF?? Would it be better if we just talked about the badgers? I don't think it will be any better for you over on bisonville but.....................BYE.
-
This is even funnier than the other thread you have on us. Oh and this poll will really be scientific on a sue board. Yeah we all know NDSU and Taylor will blink first
because you guys have all the advantages
Boy you guys are infatuated with NDSU. You guys have all been drinking the DaveK koolaid
Again, your a bison fan on a sioux board and you are calling us infatuated. Plus all you do is repeat yourself and your quotes and don't respond when someone calls you out on the !@#$ you write.

What does Faison give Taylor? Play almost every year? 3 out of 4 years with an opt out if one of the big boys wants to play on that date?
Nope, game will be every year when its scheduled. As far as your question I don't know what Faison will have to give. Maybe just giving Taylor a little more time is enough. I just think Taylor has too big of an ego to just field the phone call and say "oh, thats what you want and when you want it. Ok, lets do it". If it was up to Faison, the game would have been scheduled yesterday. UND is definately ready to play and this would have been a perfect year to play the bison.
-
Talyor will have to and here are my thoughts on why:
1) Both will have to give a little bit. Niether will get exactly what they want.
2) Both have put together pretty good schedule's for the next couple of years. I have no doubt Faison can't put together a schedule for 2011 that looks just as nice as 2010(which I really like by the way.)
3) UND obviously has a tougher time filling thier schedule as they have more games to schedule since they are in a smaller conference. This also benifits them as NDSU seems to take the Montana route and try to schedule cupcakes for non-conference the last few years since the Missouri Valley is a very tough conference. Gotta get a few wins. UND definately is not a cupcake.
4) Taylor can no longer use his old excuses. The nickname will soon be resolved, plus the baseball game. The transition is almost over. People don't really care about ndsu's transition and UND not scheduling them, even though at the time it would have hurt playoff chances to do so. Now that time is up on these excuses he can no longer avoid UND. All the advantages, mainly marketing and head to head recruiting will be gone the second the game is scheduled. When UND wins, Taylor and Bohl (if he is still around) can kiss those goodbye and things will be similar to the end of DII days. Taylor knows this and thats why he's avoiding the game but even bison fans are getting restless for the game so his strong stance against UND and ndsu's motto of "anyone, anywhere" will be viewed as bull$%!# if he doesn't schedule it. People want the game and will start to see right through him and his excuses. They already easily could if the media pushed hard enough and he was ever asked the right questions. Every state has their major rivalry games and North Dakotans don't expect theirs to be any different. For this reason, Taylor blinks first but Faison gives a little to help him out.

The UC Davis kicker that beat out Hellevang had similar stats (12-15 on FGs, 4-5 beyond 40 yards, perfect on PATs) so although Hellevang had a great year, the two players were pretty close statistically.
I agree about Bamba, especially when you throw in his productivity on kick returns. One of the UCD receivers that made first team had just 584 receiving yards. He must have been a heck of a decoy.
Total all-conference players by team (including honorable mention):
UCD: 16 (8 seniors)
Poly: 14 (4 seniors)
USD: 12 (7 seniors)
SUU: 12 (7 seniors)
UND: 9 (2 seniors)
I was really suprised at how young Cal Poly is. They only have 11 seniors on the roster and will have 9 offensive and 8 defensive starters returning. They return their entire OL along with five defensive players that were named all-conference this year. They could easily go from worst to first next year.
USD graduates 5 of its front 7 (three all-conference) on defense, including the entire line. In addition to Shepard, on offense USD loses three OL (two all-conference) and an all-conference receiver. This looks like it should have been USD's big year and they didn't get it done.
UCD loses five all-conference defensive players, including the league player of the year. Offense is in better shape with the return of second team all-conference QB Denham, but they must replace two all-conference receivers, including league offensive MVP.
SUU will return two top receivers, but must replace three all-conference players on the OL, a second team all-conference QB, and possibly the nation's top FCS punter. Generally speaking though, SUU is still young with just 12 seniors on the team this year.
In addition to Sutton and Bamba on offense, UND will return five defensive players that were named all-conference. With the possibility of starting seven seniors on that side of the ball, UND just may have the best defense in the league next year.
Awesome breakdown. Nice work. Things look good for next year and it looks like it will again be a very competitive league next year. Impressive that a pretty young Cal Poly team was able to beat SDSU.

Thoughts and prayers for you and your family.

This is why are scout teams sometimes handles the number #1's. There have been more scuffles between the scouts and the starters then in years past. The group that is red-shirted are going to be fun to watch. We are on the right track, just takes some time.
This is fun to hear. I am glad the coaches had patience with these freshmen and knew that even though they would be able to help this year, we are looking long term. And kudos to the freshmen for having to patience to wait it out. I am confident the coahces will have another solid year recruiting this year as we already have what sounds like two very good verbals and I'm sure quite a few offers out there to other players to join the underclassmen as we build for the future.

Demler looks like a good find. You can never have too many QB types. If they don't work out at QB, they can usually play another position because of their general athleticism. Michael Crabtree was originally a QB recruit for us.
I'd say that position change worked out pretty well for him.
Brian Kelly- just keeps winning

Yes, but they have moved on and don't care about UND anymore. Just ask anyone of them and they will tell you.
I agree, that retard ruined the comment section for anyone who enjoys it. And the chicken !@#$ can't even use his real name.
