Yeah, it's a shame UND has offered student athletes the opportunity to compete at the varsity level for years. What a shame.
-
I would argue there is more hype by the GF media. I also know there are a ton of Bison fans looking forward to this game and it's more than just another game. This week in Fargo and at work, I have never seen this many people wearing Bison hear everyday and talking about the weekend.

NDSU has a year and a half worth of this figured out. What's the long range plan for NDSU in this? You speak like NDSU has this figured out long term and they are no further along in it than 2017. UND at least has the ability and flexibility to cut a few sports and funnel money already budgeted and being spent somewhere else if needed. It wouldn't be popular but could sustain itself over time assuming all things remain the same.
-
maybe they could start a website begging for donations.
-
And when NDSU made their announcement they did not have all funding secured to pay for it all either. They likely still don't.
-
I don't think you'll see anything intentional. However if your 220 lb QB is running a sweep play at a DB, CB or even LB will do what it takes to bring him down. I anticipate the NDSU fans calling it a dirty hit when in reality it is a completely legal tackle on a big ball carrier. Your thoughts?
-
Did you see the Ratelle hit on Johnson last year. Far from a cheap shot. If the Montana quarterback would have weighed more the 120 lbs. he wouldn't have flown backwards 10 yards.
-
It depends how confident the coaches are with one on one matchups on the perimeter. I think you have to mix it up and try and confuse them with where the pressure is coming from.
-
I think it's Irvin-Stills. He plays pretty physical for a corner in the run game as well and coverage skills have seemed at least equal. I'm curious who comes in for nickel situations.
-
Where were the details on NDSU's announcement? On KFGO I heard the AD say they got a donation for half and have a lot of work to do to raise the other half. Tons of detail there.
-
UND got a lot figured out in six days if their response was completely do to NDSU.
-
Goid thing you haven't posted if you think this team is similar to a Mussman coached team. The defense is so much better and plays so much harder. We would have had to score 40 vs Drake yesterday to win.
-
if he can't hang on to it at the running back spot, move him back to WR. His fumble at the goal line killed momentum yesterday.
-
I don't know how much offense we have after yesterday.
-
They seem to be firing on all cylinders.
-
We needed a deep threat yesterday. Second half, Drake had no fear of getting beat by our WRs and our QB wasn't getting rid of the ball. I expect to see more of the same this week with NDSU licking the chops.
-
Does our offense miss Georges that bad. No one to stretch the field
-
What a terrible effort. We got out played and played with no effort or emotion. Expected more today.
-
Looking for another clean game by the offense and what we have come to expect from the defense. Hoping for improved special teams today.
-
Should be a beautiful day for tailgate today. Looking forward to a big turnout and a UND win.
-
We need to see if the team that got bounced by 30 points last season vs. Missouri St has improved. Also, how is a young UND team going to handle playing in what will likely be the loudest environment the Fargodome has seen in the regular season? If a blowout happens, there will be some that need to be talked off the ledge and some are able to see it as a non conference game with a team sitting at 2-1 heading into conference play. I'm not sure where I'd fall yet.

I think its also been called the "2nd level" of college football by some. You can call it what you want but in reality its the same thing. -

The people in Fargo will tell you they weren't depleted in 2008 though. Whatever fits the narrative. Hyping a win like this has been what Fargo has been very good at the last few years. Its an accomplishment no matter the teams record. UND has the attention again of the casual football fan that they lost the last few years. Other teams are trying to downplay the win. That tells me its a big deal to the casual fan.
