Nice post Teeder. I made the same comment to my dad that USD saw something over the middle they could expose throwing the ball. It's really when their offense started having success.

Faster tempo on offense. Let's work to get a lead first and than slow the pace of a game. Our offense has looked decent when moving having a little urgency to it this season.
-
I can't remember where the committee discussion is at but in the Herald article today Faison as quoted as saying he has been in contact with three conferences about UND's affiliation. I had thought Big Sky, MVFC and Summit but it was also stated those conferences wouldn't discuss membership in a "new" conference until February.

Every fan base has good ones and bad ones. Bison fans have lots to be proud of.

NDSU letters to the editor lost all credibility to me when huge NDSU supporter Bob Johnson (or something like that) wrote to the forum a few weeks ago.

That's no fun. Pretty sure they meant our defense is junk.

SiouxFootballInsider– ‏@SiouxFootball Jeff Choate via @SkylineSportsMT: "North Dakota is highly, highly known for having a junk defense and bringing a lot of trash". What? 1:04 PM - 19 Sep 2016

I'd also add some motion action to #22 with #5 in the backfield. if we run on first, slow the linebackers down a step on occasion. I like the idea of keeping the clock going but think we need to flip flop strategy and get aggressive to get a lead first and than run the clock. I also still believe a little faster tempo up to the line would help our offense.

We come home to play Cal Poly but you're point still stands. It would be big to get back to .500. Won't be easy on the road.
-
The UND @ MSU game is big for both teams but there will be a couple huge games in the Big Sky this week. Montana @ Cal Poly Eastern Washington @ Northern Arizona Portland St @ Southern Utah should be a fun first week of conference play
-
Big game for both teams in Bozeman. I'm sure their team remembers the game last year. John Walker has three picks for MSU on the season. Their offense looks to be balanced run/pass they gave up almost 300 yards rushing to Idaho. I'm guessing we see a lot more 7-8 in the box next week.

The MVFC is given more credit than it deserves except FU and has hosted games in the playoffs. That is the difference. When the Big Sky has played playoff game at home, they have won. The conference should absolutely be hyping what it did today. When you don't you get a 7-4 team left home for he playoffs when as 6-5 team gets in. Make sure the committee knows what happened because I am not 100% convinced they know come selection time.

Don't disagree with this either. I just didn't want to pile on the oline. While their play needs to improve, we have 4 new starters and need to do some things to help them, along with the offense.
-
Hopefully WDAY Extra looks at picking up the game again this week. Not sure if possible but it would be great.

I really don't think it's completely the oline play, it's the predictable play calling and QB struggling to make some throws. USD manned up on the outside and played to stop the run. My thoughts: - Olivera needs more carries - need to show some jet sweep action with Santiago and time it up right to have it be a threat. WATCH tape on how NDSU uses it - pick up the pace on offense. Studrud and our offense looks more comfortable. The best they have looked this year was vs Bowling Green and USD in the 2nd half when we needed points. - for as good as Santiago has been, a little less east and west - rushing numbers will get better starting next week as the defenses in the big sky will not be as physical as what we have seen so far. - defense needs a little more discipline - LOL at the guy last week that said Reyes is overrated. He just needs to stay healthy
-
After the last two weeks my thought is our offense needs some more tempo. They have looked ok when we've been down and needed scores. We don't have to be USD or Bowling Green fast but getting to the line with 15 seconds on the play clock seems to get something more of a rythem. Not pretty but the passing game gets going enough to create some space for the running game.
-
Wasn't expecting that. Great win.

Grinding it's teeth is being very kind. The only thing I am jealous of USD about is you got rid of a coach at the right time. We hung on to ours and it set us back a few years. More yards rushing tomorrow:. USD or John Santiago?
-
Don't worry, everyone knows the only way we hear from you again is if the mange puppies win the game. Enjoy the game. I'm confident you will be treated fine tailgating unless your a dick.

Nothing is on hold. Not sure how many are left. They aren't cutting scholarships. Actually in Kennedy's interview prior to interview part of this evaluation is how to get more resources to the core sports to make them more competitive. He has a vision for what he wants the athletic dept. to look like and a competitive football team fits that vision. I wish I could find a link to the pregame but it left me feeling a lot better about him and this situation.
-
I think they get 100. They just can't get it in big chunks. Playing Bowling Green last week should help with the pace USD wants to play at. So should the crowd noise.
-
Our road vs home conference schedule sets up nicely this year. We will know more about Poly and SUU in the coming weeks but those games could be against ranked teams. If we can get by Mont. St. we should br favored in remaining road games.

I would argue that the hardest position to develop is o line so making routine blocks consistently does take time. Getting the right kids who are physically ready to do that is difficult. The position that was most lacking depth and talent when this staff took over was the oline.
