  1. Can anyone tell me the number of scholarships per gender at UND? Or point me towards where I can look it up
  2. 1. I am a female 2. I am in Ireland so I am not watching anything 3. I did check the scores online for the World Championships, and I do for men's hockey as well.
  3. For people that don't like women's hockey you guys sure spend A LOT of time talking about it...
  4. They aren't my numbers. And all I said was I was surprised by football's number.
  5. According to this blog post from Rob Post (no idea if he's legit) football lost $2,923,313... http://www.sayanythingblog.com/entry/und-sports-programs-lost-13-3-million-2016/
  6. Everybody keeps saying this but I read an article this week and was surprised to find out that football lost $2.9 million this year... I get it, football has a ton more potential than women's hockey but I was still surprised by that number
  7. I don't think there will be a lockout. Just a bunch if suspensions when the players return.
  8. Also, after the review, why did the linesman make the call?
  9. Wonder if Jost regrets going pro yet?
  10. Thoughts and prayers go out to her family http://www.grandforksherald.com/news/4244637-beer-grandma-crowd-favorite-und-hockey-games-dies-age-90
  11. I wish all the sarcastic, condescending, negative about women's hockey people would just let us have one thread where we can still discuss the sport (because it does still exist) without them. You guys are ruining this message board for me. Go be jerks elsewhere!
  12. Former UND lady named the player of the game in Finland's win over Canada. She had a goal and two assists
  13. USA women are winning 2-0
  14. Disregard. I see he is officially playing.
  15. So did they get Jost's visa paperwork figured out then? Last I knew he couldn't play until it had been completed.
  16. So you're saying our athletic budget still has plenty of room to get out of control again? Yay
  17. Anyone know if Jost is expected to play tomorrow in Colorado? I may need to go....
  18. I have attended numerous women's hockey games when I lived in Grand Forks and when I am in town to watch football/men's hockey.
  19. Apparently Olympians aren't prestigious enough. And have a better chance than most of our sports to win a national championship doesn't matter. I understand this was a budget issue but that doesn't mean I am not highly disappointed. But hey, at least I sport I don't give a !@#$ about was on national TV, go us.
  20. How about the eight Olympians it produced for the last Olympics? I would guess beyond men's hockey no other sport at UND has/will produce Olympians.
  21. Really? Because I see this as a black eye on the athletic department.
  22. Only the students got in free. That was a myth as I attended a game in Grand Forks this season and paid for it.
  23. I am once again embarrassed by the University I graduated from. I understand sports need to be cut and there is a budget shortfall but the University as a whole has been very poorly managed for at least the last five years. Incompetent people are in charge. Useless people have been hired. And a great deal of money has been spent frivolously. I attended the majority of the home games when I was in school and that was back when the team was terrible. To cut a sport that had eight Olympians in the last Olympics, while a major recruit was in town is pitiful. To have it publicised online before telling the coaches and athletes is beyond an embarrassment, it is a slap in the face to everyone involved in the program. I will proudly wear my Friends of Women's Hockey t-shirt tomorrow and wish it weren't so.
  24. I know a handful of people going and if I still lived in Michigan I would be there.
  25. Kinda off topic but does anyone know if the refs have a "training camp" or anything in the offseason? I think NFL refs do... They go over new rules, points of emphasis etc. I ask because I feel like the way the refs drop the puck at faceoff is very different. Some drop it right away, some take FOREVER! Some bend down to get closer to the ice, some stand normal. There doesn't seem to be much consistency
