  1. See post #166. "I am requesting that he be placed on immediate..."- note the lack of a first-person pronoun at the end of the fragment.
  2. Where was it stated that it was not UND that asked for the LoA? The last report from the media using public records stated it was an employee of UND, but it was not Buning.
  3. The WDAY 6:00 news, along with a little help from the North Dakota open records law, reported tonight that Buning's LoA was requested by an employee of UND, not Buning himself.
  4. Right. That's a radio promotion . One in which NDSU already received compensation for the tickets, but it wasn't Scheel's giving away the tickets.
  5. Just got back from Scheel's and talked to one of the managers. There were no tickets given away at Scheel's.
  6. NDSU left the NCC because despite all their effort put forth to inform the NCC of the benefits of a conference move to DI, a majority did not share the vision. No reason to leave the soon-to-be-named Missouri Valley, an autobid conference that has placed four teams in the playoffs in a single year.
  7. From Kenneth Massey himself when asked about the accuracy of his own rankings between divisions compared to within divisions:
  8. Yes, the Stop-N-Go discout is no longer. Previously, one could purchase one, and only one, voucher at a Stop-N-Go, in which you could go the the Bison ticket office and receive two general admisison tickets. As for the $5 tickets, as you stated, they're only available for those 12 and under in the upper general admission seats.
  9. No. I was just pointing out the link where the details for cheaper ticket info was that you inquired about.
  10. ^^^^^^^^^ From link above:
  11. star2city- do you believe that UND would be trying to use NDSU as it's bitch if a game was scheduled before UND has finished it's transition to DI? FWIW- I have no issue with the rivalry resuming in 2009 if possible, once UND is a DI counter.
  12. Football would find many more opponents if it looked east- Where the heck are all those DI FCS schools located at?
  13. Exactly. The comparative score index is worth less than the paper it's printed on. You could even come up with NDSU being able to stay within one score of Michigan last year, or possibly playing even with Michigan if the game was in Fargo. Not exactly reality, IMO. Looking at the whole of NCAA football divisions within the Massey Ratings isn't exactly accurate, either. There's not enough games between the divsions to have accurate information to rank them correctly. Here's a quote from my correspondance with Kenneth Massey when asked how accurate the Massey Ratings are between the separate divisions compared to those within a division in NCAA football:
  14. Autobids are assigned before the start of each season. If the GWFC qualifies, I don't see why they wouldn't receive one, even if the field stays at 16 (max 8 autobids). There's currently two autobid conferences that are much, much weaker than the GWFC.
  15. Another shining example of the Old Guard. Why could NDSU gather more affiliates in it's first year than ForumComm could in decades?? Once again, WDAY did submit a bid. When they were contacted to re-submit a TV bid, they told NDSU to use the one they had already submitted a few months back in the media bid. It's obvious that WDAY underestimated the demand for the television rights for NDSU. WDAY probably wanted to shift the NDSU contract to something more along the lines of the FSSN.
  16. Exactly. Lazy salespeople. The Old Guard. Rather funny that KVLY found enough potential revenue to air twice as many games as WDAY.
  17. WDAY did technically submit a bid. They just wanted NDSU to use the TV portion of the combination media bid they submitted earlier. The one in which NDSU broke out the radio portion of the bid. Very lazy way to submit a bid, but it still was an offer on the table. WDAY is viewed by many as the "Old Guard" of media in the FM area. Very slow to adopt new technology, and their sales staff only want accounts that fall in their lap. What's interesting is how aggresive KVLY must have been in their bid. Obviously, they offered to air twice as many games as WDAY's previous offers.
  18. Congrats to UND on finding the first piece of the DI conference puzzle! I wouldn't be suprised if UND/USD have an invite from the Summit in a couple years. The twelve game season push might be prevented by the current push for expanding the FCS playoffs. It could also help gain enough playoff spots to add an autobid for the Big South and GWFC once it qualifies. DI rules dictate that a minimum of 50% of the playoff field must be at-large selections.
  19. Six active DI members are required to start the autobid clock ticking. If the GWFC could get another active DI member, then the GWFC could qualify for an autobid in the third year of the UxD's active (not core) DI status, which would be 2014.
  20. ROFLMAO- I stand corrected. Yeah, I meant FBS. The weekend started at 2:00 this afternoon, and I've been trying to prep these Hacker-Pschorr bottles for *ahem* recycling.
  21. It's only an eight year commitment. WKU fulfilled their contractual commitment of six years (only two less than NDSU's) to the Gateway Conference and avoided paying any exit fee. Nearly everyone 'in the know', including commish Patty V, knew that WKU would be moving to FCS as soon as, or very shortly after their six year contract expired. NDSU's exit fee will be effectively zip after eight years in the Gateway, which more than conveniently puts NDSU seriously looking at FCS in 2016 (which also coincides with initial plans of a 10-15 year move from DII to DI FCS, 2003->2016) Both of the above mentioned schools are additional reasons why the Summit League now imposed the exit fee.
  22. Kolpack's take- http://www.areavoices.com/bisonmedia/?blog=9446 Sounds like it might be a long weekend of speculation.
