  1. Good kid, works hard but didn't add much. He is being given the chance to contribute as Panoam wasn't playing well.
  2. I attended all three of UND's games in Fort Myers (FGCU has a beautiful campus and a great BB facility) over the weekend. Some random thoughts (not necessarily in order of importance): We played pretty well other than the first half of the first game - better than we had played in the previous couple of games. We could have/should have won the last game against Campbell. Pretty much let it slip away but Campbell was a very good team with some great athletes. Rebraca is the real deal. He played against big men that had the bodies of NBA players. Rebraca really doesn't have much meat/weight on him but he more than held his own. He played a ton of minutes over the weekend and you could tell he was running out of gas against Campbell. Stewart is really good (better than I thought) when he has his head on right and isn't trying to do too much. He was up against some good-sized, very talented guards but was the best guard on the floor much of the time. As everyone knows, Brown is really struggling and Walter, although he is scoring some, isn't helping much. His TOs against Campbell really turned the game around. I am not sure why he handles the ball as much as he does and why he shoots so much. Eikens has a lot of talent but plays pretty passive so far but that will change with more experience and confidence. Moody hurt his right shoulder in the second game and didn't play much on Sunday. You could tell he was hurting. This could be bad news if he takes awhile to heal up. We really had trouble with a full court press in the last two games - a big reason we lost on Sunday. I am sure they are working on that this week. We really don't have much talent other than those mentioned above. G will be good but just isn't ready yet. I foresee a lot of turnover over the summer. That won't be much fun for Sather as a lot of these guys are good kids and good students. Cole Bergan will not be transferring to UND. I like what I am seeing in Sather. The team seems to be realizing that what he is teaching makes sense. It will take a year or two for him to get the talent he needs but I expect us to be very competitive soon. I am afraid we just don't have enough talent to do too well in the Summit this year. I hope for a .500 season.
  3. Congrats on your engagement and thanks for the previews!
  4. I have been at the first two games and fairly impressed. They have played much better than their previous couple of games. They are making progress. A couple of guys are a little dinged up and both teams look tired so far. We are down 10-9 right now to a good Campbell team.
  5. I am at the game. Rebraca has definitely missed some easy shots and we haven’t played very well. A little better effort in the 2nd half and we should win this one.
  6. Not a bad idea but there would’ve been bitching about that (especially from people who are on this website). Lots of complaining - not much evidence the whiners are doing anything to help!!
  7. Chaves used the max the university could authorize ($50K) and then went out and found another $25K. It is likely that our bid was among the highest but simply wasn’t higher than Nichols. What more did you want him to do? Did you contribute?
  8. Lots of upperclassmen! Good size (compared to us on both the OL & DL).
  9. That Livingston game will be hard to forget! We were behind at half but still in the game. I think we all thought we would come back to win it. The second half started good with us moving the ball. Then Kasowski had a 40-50 yard run that was called back due to a clip (or hold). The game was pretty much over after that....
  10. Without question!
  11. Fully agree - all the whining from guys who don't know what they are talking about is getting real old. Chaves and company did work hard to make a competitive bid (yes, we were less than $5K short). It would have been sufficient against most any other opponent. I don't know where people think we are supposed to find all of the money for efforts like these or big things like the HPC2. A lot of people are working hard to make these things happen but there is only so much you can do. As you point out, I hope the whiners are doing their part to support our program. I would suspect they are not!
  12. Then it would really be all about the money. They make the pairings, then look at the bids to see who will host. I would bet that most everyone in the room assumed that UND would be the host.
  13. Very surprising - our bid was substantial. It had to be larger than some of the other hosts. Chaves went out and got commitments from many to increase the UND contribution by 50%! I can't fault Chaves. Not sure how Nichols could offer more unless some big booster handed them a large check!!
  14. Was he healthy early in the season? He may have still been recovering from last season’s injury.
  15. The kid is quick!!
  16. QB draw on 3rd & 7!!?!!
  17. Good stop after a lousy 31 yard punt...
  18. UND 38 SUU 30
  19. Regarding your last sentence, if you would care to PM me, I will shed some light on this for you. It is not appropriate to post it here.
  20. So you thought Jones was a good coach and could lead UND to improved results in future years? Honest question!
  21. It is a good thing Sather doesn’t have any hair - this is going to be a frustrating year for him!
  22. I don't know the final number but we submitted what we feel was an aggressive first round bid. UND anted up $ XXX and then boosters & FB lettermen made commitments to increase the bid to what we hope is a successful level. Some of the numbers being quoted here are quite high for first round games.
  23. I expect next year's roster will be significantly different over and above the three seniors departing! Had Sather arrived earlier, I think this year's roster would be quite a bit different.
  24. It may be a longer year than I had anticipated!
