The 3-4 issue is really a good question. They have known for awhile that Schmidt was leaving so I would think a replacement should be named quite soon. My opinion - they will bring someone in from the outside.

I am not a Walter fan but it was too bad he had such a lousy game. He had a bunch of family and friends at the game.

I am a big backer of Sather but let’s not get too optimistic about the team’s success over this year and next. While he inherited 2-3 pretty good players, that was about it. There is no depth and very limited talent. It will likely take a couple of years before we he has the talent on the roster to do great things. While we will continue to win some games we probably shouldn’t win, we better not be too optimistic!

I was there - I can assure you that we would not have won two games at the FGCU tourney under the prior regime.

I am sure Coach Sather would agree with your concerns. The three lopsided home wins aren't helping him prepare his team for Summit play. As others have noted, I think we will see much better home schedules in the future.

It was recommended to Perchal that he no longer play FB - he made the decision not to continue playing ball a few weeks ago.

Freshman - made 16 of 21 FG attempts, 27 of 29 extra points, averaged 55 yards on kickoffs with 19 touchbacks. Sophomore - 11 of 19 FG, 27 of 27 EPs, 59.9 yards on kickoffs with 26 touchbacks. Probably not in the mix for punting, averaged only 35.5.

I appreciate the kinds words from many of you and will continue the Wiki recruiting pages for FB, M & W BB and VB. Hambone - I know you and others follow recruiting very closely. As you have done, please continue to post on the applicable recruiting thread or PM me whenever you have any info that isn't currently on Wiki. I think it is best that we continue to have only one person actually post on Wiki as bad things can happen if multiple people are posting - especially if they happen to be doing so at the same time.

My understanding is that Vaughn will enroll immediately wherever he ends up. It would be great to have both participate in spring ball.

Mystery solved - I was able to find one version of the '21 recruiting page in the system. I don't think it is the most recent but at least I found one version. I did learn who the "culprit" was who erased everything - surprisingly, it was one of our regulars. I would guess it happened accidentally but it is disappointing that he/she didn't step up and contact me about it! The response after I asked for feedback was not great - I will decide soon whether to continue it.

Sather tried to find a PG in the off season but was not confident enough in anyone to offer a scholarship. He is going to have to pull a lot of scholarships after this season. He didn't want to have to potentially do so with someone he had just brought in.

Unfortunately, someone has erased all prospect listings and history for Wiki 2021 FB recruiting. I believe I had about 60 prospects listed for next year. I have no way of resurrecting the list. That said, I have done this for the last 10+ years. It is a lot of work and takes a lot of time (about 260 prospects were listed for 2020). I will continue doing this IF there is a strong feeling that it provides value to UND FB fans. Let me know your thoughts but please don't answer positively unless you really go to the site often.

While this may be a great OL class, getting their commitment early doesn't relate to their quality. There are many examples of this in the past. They have to be the "right" kids!
