  1. Has offers from USD & SDSU
  2. Has offers from Bowling Green, SDSU, Kent St, EIU, IL St, IN St & SIU
  3. That is why I was surprised he was still with the team!
  4. I hadn't realized that was him (on the floor). Hopefully, he has made great progress over the last few months.
  5. New offer to a MN guard. She averaged 17 as a sophomore. Very good article on her attached. You will see the lead picture on the article is a picture of her and the Jarnots. Hopefully, that connection will help us land her! https://r.search.yahoo.com/_ylt=A0geK.DbWXZeCyAAQZxXNyoA;_ylu=X3oDMTEybnJ2YzV0BGNvbG8DYmYxBHBvcwM0BHZ0aWQDQjkzMjVfMQRzZWMDc3I-/RV=2/RE=1584843355/RO=10/RU=https%3a%2f%2fwww.prepgirlshoops.com%2f2019%2f09%2fits-labor-day-and-shes-the-hardest-working-player-i-know%2f/RK=2/RS=CellVTSLD_UHri_ulJSqSllts6g- G Makayla Aumer, 5'9", Mora (Cambridge-Isanti), MN
  6. Was Ramsey on the bench at the end of the season? I didn't see him but maybe he was. Bottom line - I am not sure if he is still with the team. Either way, I think the answer to your question is "no".
  7. Shockey averaged 21 points and led his 28-4 team in rebounds and steals. I expect him to be very good but I think he is a much different player than Marlon - more of a shooter than penetrator. He may end up a shooting guard.
  8. Offer to a WR from AZ: Jalen Richmond, 6' 175, Chandler (Chandler), AZ Has offer from NAU
  9. Unfortunately, Trey will not follow his brother to UND. He will play at NIU.
  10. Wife and three kids. It was time for a change, and I applaud Chaves for acting promptly, but Brew is a good guy. I feel for him and his family. I would think he could land a DII head job or a DI assistant position.
  11. Katie Borowicz will play for the Gophers.
  12. My assessment of the ladies' program: The team started the season well and won quite a few difficult games, mostly on the road. But as the season progressed, the team did not. You would assume that the young players would improve with experience/game time. The opposite was true. It sure appeared the team enjoyed playing the game early in the season and not so at the end of the season. Many coaching-related issues prevailed throughout the season (21+ fouls per game, 18+ TOs per game - the same type of careless TOs game after game, porous defense with continual issues in switching assignments on pick & rolls - so many points were given up and fouls committed, and an offense which appeared to be "get the ball down the court as fast as you can then see what happens". It sure appeared there was little in-game coaching taking place especially on the defensive end of the court. Adjustments were few and ineffective. There were also some coaching strategies that were impossible to understand. We made five intentional fouls in the last 44 seconds of our 91-74 loss at WIU. We fouled when were behind 84-73 with 44 seconds remaining (probably made sense), again with 31 seconds remaining and still behind 84-73, behind 86-73 when we fouled with 24 seconds remaining, 87-73 with 8 seconds remaining and the last foul with 4 seconds left when we were behind 89-74. That is not "playing hard until the end" or "never giving up". It was simply dumb - and you could tell the girls knew it! Like it or not, we have to compare ourselves with the Bison. They were a program down in the dumps and then made very good strides throughout the season (starting with their win over UND). With their new coach and our losing to them twice this year, just like that - we are no longer considered the best college BB program in ND. This is a very big deal to fans but, more importantly, young prospects from ND and MN may now easily opt for SU rather than us. Their new coach can "accurately" tell a very good story about a bright future for their program based on the progress made this year. A couple of comments about the roster: Leet's injury really hurt. She had made good progress with her game. With her out, we were a much different team. The freshman class has a lot of good players: however, they are really undersized and they are not great athletes. The guards can shoot but are small and have difficulty getting shots off against bigger competition. I think this has altered caused them to alter their shots - making them less accurate. When you look at the SD schools, they have really good BB players who are also very good athletes. They have nice size, length, quickness and they can run. Bottom line - it will take awhile for us to compete with them (with or without new leadership). I need to make a comment on last year's 12-19 team: With one of the best players ever to wear a UND uniform, four other seniors including two 3-year starters, winning only 12 games was unbelievable. Tons of TOs, fouls, lack of fundamentals, etc. A team with that much experience with pretty decent talent should have represented themselves and the university much better. Bottom line - our women's program needs new leadership. The University, the fans and especially the ladies deserve better. If you agree, a well-written note to Chaves would be appropriate: william.chaves@athletics.und.edu
  13. Here you go - this is obviously an old message but the contribution site is correct.... UND High Performance Center A game-changer Future additions to the UND Athletics High Performance Center will include spectator seating, coaches offices and locker rooms for UND football and track & field, a state-of-the-art strength and conditioning area, a student-athlete academic center, and sports medicine space for all UND Athletics teams. The facility will also serve the greater Grand Forks community by offering a host site for youth athletics camps and college and youth track and field meets. Workers completed the installation of the eight-lane, 300-meter Mondo track surface prior to the grand opening, which was the final component of Phase One of the High Performance Center. Installation of a full-length football field, video and scoreboard, tradition displays, and other Phase One amenities were completed in early 2015. “I don’t think I can overstate how important the High Performance Center will be for the continuing development of our athletics teams,” said former athletic director Brian Faison. “It has taken a tremendous partnership with alumni and friends to get this project completed. And now our fans will have the chance to see it up close and personal.” Click https://www.ndchampionsclub.com/und-athletics-high-performance-center to support the UND High Performance Center.
  14. I talked to Dodson about the job and was somewhat surprised to learn that he is very happy in his current role with the Medical School development. So much so that he wasn't interested in the athletic job. He would have done a great job - for a guy from the South, it didn't take him along to "bleed green".
  15. I understand that the building will be 3 or 4 stories with UND Athletics on the main floor with the second floor available for other offices (UND and/or outside interests) with the top floor or two being apartments - I assume primarily for UND students.
  16. I know many don't agree but I think Chaves knows what he is doing and I know he is not satisfied with UND having a so-so FB program. I would guess the extension included a clause for making a change as soon as after next year if results aren't improved. A job and paycheck waiting for Bubba in the Foundation may easily be part of the agreement. For talented kids who are interested in UND, I am sure the competition points out that Bubba might be on a short leash. A 4-year deal puts that to rest.
  17. What do you mean by "buys"? Are you talking about $ or that the Department will be satisfied enough with a hockey championship?
