Does anyone have any insight as to who UND has invited to walk-on this fall? When does camp open?

In looking at the 2008 roster, I see that 2-3 highly recruited red-shirt freshmen are not expected to return: OL Matt Simmons (big all-state kid from WS), Mark Kubacki (LB from Stillwater) and Troy Bryant (DB - WS). I know Simmons was expected to be very good when we landed him and I think the other two were highly thought-of as well. This happens every year to all teams but it is disappointing. I am not sure if this means anything right now, but it is interesting to note that Watkins and Sutton were assigned the same jersey numbers as upper classmen. That may or may not be a hint as to whether the coaching staff thinks they will play as true freshmen. It will be interesting if we have any chance in landing Delano Saporu's younger brother, Tobi. He is a very talented 6'2", 230 FB at Blaine. I think he may have some big time offers so we may not have a shot at him.

Thanks for posting! Sutton did have a good game with 134 yards on 20 carries. Heimler also had 100+ in receptions and scored an touchdown.

Only two home series after the holidays - that is really odd!

I guess I missed Allard's name in the box score. That is a little scary that he only scored 4 points but maybe there was a reason for it. Do you know why May chose not to play?

Anyone know why neither Allard or May played in the Lion's All Star game?

Does anyone know what has happened with Buning? Is he still in GF?

It is good to see UND going after guys of this quality. Even if we don't get them, it sends the message that we are aggressively going after talented kids that the big boys want. That can only help us with other recruits!

UND's Elite Camp (where they invite kids they may want to recruit) ended yesterday. Did anyone stop by to see any of the action. If so, who was there, how did they look, etc.? I assume the staff will be making offers to a few of the attendees quite soon.

It appears that we will only have a 10 game schedule this year. That is disappointing - especially with a two week layoff! The cost of bringing in a decent team was too high and they didn't want to play an NAIA team.

As with all the other UND fans, my thoughts and prayers are with you and your family!

Wasn't Chris a finalist for the Dickinson State job a few months ago? I wish him the best of luck! I have no concern about the timing. In fact, it probably is about the best timing for something like this. The recruiting for next year is done and we will be able to bring someone in over the summer who will be situated by the time school starts this fall.

I hope no one takes my comment wrong but I am pleased that we now have an African-American coach on our staff. I am sure he will be a great addition to the staff and it should assist with recruiting going forward!

Very nice size! If I remember right, he was all-EDC. Did he make all-state?

Per the website GeauxSioux mentioned in a separate post, 12 Wisconson athletes say that they were either interested in UND and/or UND is interested in them. Some indicated that they plan to attend the Sioux Summer Camp - among other camps. The two in GS's post indicated that scholarship offers may be coming from UND. Those were the only two that made that comment. USD and NDSU have each made two official offers and SDSU one. Obviously, this list is likely far from being all-inclusive. Does anyone know who in ND or MN (or anywhere else) that UND is recruiting?

Please understand that I wish we did have more fans with Dave's passion but, in my opinion, we will never get Bison fans to agree to our thinking nor will we agree to theirs. I personally get tired of all the back and forth rhetoric. I would much rather talk about our teams, our players, our schedules than how all these things relate to SU!

DaveK - why don't you take your debate over this stuff to the Bison website so we don't have to put up with it. You know that you and the Bison fans aren't ever going to agree on these issues. So, if you want to waste your time arguing with them, please do it on their site! Thanks!

Is anyone planning to attend the public forums for either or both of these guys this week? If so, please post your thoughts! Sounds like two pretty darn good candidates to me!
