  1. It would also help if the team/parents stood up to and didn't tolerate the behavior being discussed. From my experience, when it's one of your own that's the problem, it's fairly unusual for the wrong-doer to be put in his place by the other parents. A little more self policing would be nice.
  2. You only need 4-5 solid kids per year to field a competitive team. I’d be curious how Jamestown would do this year if they had the kid that jumped ship. They’d have definitely won the West this year.
  3. Any word on Sandy’s post HS options? His stats are crazy. 96.7 save percentage.
  4. Do they just have that bottle in GF? I grabbed a bottle in Bismarck and I don't believe this was one of the options.
  5. The NCHC (same as CHN) website standings are different than both USCHO and SS.com as well.
  6. The standing on USCHO.com and SS.com and different due to the points awarded in OT and shootout games. Which is correct?
  7. I was also impressed by Kleven, and floored by Gaber. The first strides I saw Sanderson take reminded me of Toews' first shift. So smooth and effortless.
  8. Maybe he'll pull a Homelander from "The Boys" at the podium while muttering "I can do whatever the f.. I want" over and over.
  9. Exactly. They don't care who wins, they just want the division. Unfortunately our media is doing a far better job than they ever could, and the populous is too stupid to realize it.
  10. It's essentially the same argument/issue as whether the Governor, health departments, Courts... have the authority to limit or shut down business/stop evictions... due to Covid. Some courts say that it is an appropriate power, others that it isn't.
  11. The law of PA appears to be very clear that the ballots need to be received by 8:00 on the day of the election. Whether that is the best way to handle it is a completely separate question. Another Alito quote: “It would be highly desirable to issue a ruling on the constitutionality of the State Supreme Court’s decision before the election,” he wrote. “That question has national importance, and there is a strong likelihood that the State Supreme Court decision violates the federal Constitution.”
  12. Thanks. Looks like he Supremes punted and indicate they will need to address this issue again. The issue will be interesting in relation to the Covid restrictions implemented across the country and civil suits brought concerning them. This is a quote from Alito: The Supreme Court of Pennsylvania has issued a decree that squarely alters an important statutory provision enacted by the Pennsylvania legislature pursuant to its authority under the Constitution of the United States to make rules governing the conduct of elections for federal office,” It will be pretty interesting if this matters, and the court with Trump appointees has to make the call.
  13. I was trying to read the Penn. statute on my phone. It looks like the ballots need to be received by 8:00 pm on the day of the election to be counted. https://www.legis.state.pa.us/cfdocs/Legis/LI/uconsCheck.cfm?txtType=HTM&yr=2020&sessInd=0&smthLwInd=0&act=12 Sounds like another situation where what was told to folks, and what the law may be, are quite different.
  14. True. Ideally there would be a uniform mandate on this issue so there is some continuity among the states, but it appears this is a state issue. Without looking it up, I'd guess the absentee votes from the 1970-199s were a very small amount. With the unprecedented volume of absentee ballots this year it's not surprising there are issues, and that the States were unable to get legislation in place to address the issues.
  15. BIden now only -330 in Arizona and -400 in Nevada, but up to -165 in Pennsylvania.
  16. Current State Odds: Arizona - Biden -1600 Georgia - Trump -150 Michigan - Biden -800 Nevada - Biden -650 N.C. - Trump -550 Penn - Biden -145 Wis - Biden -1200
  17. Unfortunately, it does for too many folks...
  18. I find this extremely difficult to believe. At a minimum UND knew everything long before he stepped foot on campus. I just can't fathom that the staff wouldn't do a google search on a potential recruit. If I'm seeing this stuff without looking for it I see no way the UND was not aware. I found Brad Miller's thoughts interesting. He indicated that the staff gives a fair amount of weight to the current player's impression of the recruit, and that they have not offered high-end players for concerns about their character and fit.. I'd be curious as to what happened in this situation.
  19. Another ramification of previously shutting stuff down. In addition to the dramatic drop in cancer diagnosis, there is a pent up demand for other medical services which were needlessly put off while the hospitals/clinics sat empty. Now the "crush the curve" strategy is actually going to lead to a shortage of space. Chalk it up to "unintended consequences" which were completely obvious to anyone with a hint of common sense.
  20. There was an interesting discussion on CNBC this morning concerning undecided voters, and voters indicating that they are leaning slightly one way or the other. The focus group firm indicated that the overwhelming conclusion from these folks is that these voters are weighing the abrasiveness of Trump's personality vs. the bad policies of Biden. He indicated that 87.5% of these voters favor Trump's policies, but approximately the same number prefer Biden personally. He did mention historically undecided voters late in a race tend to vote for the challenger over an incumbent.
  21. Anyone know the percent of revenue generated in the NCHC from ticket sales? Seems like the expense of this would be problematic given the lack of revenue. The loss of game day related revenue for UND would not be inconsequential to the athletic department.
  22. I 100% agree. The ramifications of either party trying this would be dire and lead us down a horrible road.
