  1. Yes - This year it has been moved to Friday at 11 am.
  2. They had a tee time that conflicted with the Final Five.
  3. Siouxsports.com brunch is 11 am Friday at Hoggsbreath, 2504 Rice St. in Little Canada. Be there for great stories and to meet other posters.
  4. Count us as two.
  5. I simply meant to point out that given the state of politics in the U.S., most states, and Chicago (sorry Sioux-cia) it is a little unfair to call tribal politicals third-world. And yes, at least one of the WI recall efforts was due to someone being insulted. There isn't all that much difference in some cases. A sad state of affairs, but that is the way it is sometimes.
  6. Really? If you have been paying attention to the State of Wisconsin recently, they have had more than their share of state and local recall elections. It is not unique to tribal politics.
  7. You must explain things very well to have them get up to 30% right.
  8. If you have 11 bad seasons just how do you expect to get the recruits to have one good season? UND is recognized as a top caliber program by the NHL, recruits, etc. There aren't many top notch players that want to go to a program with a history of bad performance, You have 11 bad seasons the odds are that you will have many more, not suddenly pop forth with a great one.
  9. Mr. and Mrs. Siouxman will be there either day. Heck, if Goon shows up we might come both days.
  10. Sioux up to 13th in the pairwise after sweep of MSU. Every little bit helps.
  11. The band wore Sioux jerseys for the MTU series.
  12. It depends upon whether they count how many Gopher fans actually watched the game or if they count the number of Gopher fans that own TVs.
  13. These guys are students first, and athletes second, regardless of their athletic goals. Will UND, and the NCAA, simply allow a student to jump into school almost two months into the semester? That is the first question. It doesn't seem to be a likely scenario.
  14. I was really surprised how undisciplined the Denver players were. It seems that they got caught up in trying to be intimidating and forgot they have to play hockey. Some really stupid penalties and cheap shots on their part. And the reffing, really bogus calls on MacWilliam for the 5 minute major and Blood's penalty in the last minute. There was absolutely nothing wrong with Blood's check. Geat win for the guys.
  15. "You double-dare me to walk on that ice there?"
  16. I don't think it is a bad call at all. He was moving toward the net and his head is clearly down looking at the puck. While there isn't a kicking motion, he was moving toward the net and the evidence suggests that he was directing it toward the net. He did not even attempt to get his stick down on the puck. If he had been trying to use the stick, and it went in off his skate then maybe you can give him the benefit of the doubt. But the rule states if there is any doubt, the goal is disallowed. Note that Zombo did not even react when the goal was disallowed, like he knew what he was doing and it would probably be disallowed. If the rule specified only prohibited a kicking motion, then it would have been a bad call.
  17. It used to be that a player could not be in the crease before the puck entered the crease. That rule was changed several years ago. A player can now be in the crease as long as he is not interfering with the goalie or if he was pushed into the crease by the goalie's teammate. In this particular case Knight was clearly in the crease. Robinson was laying flat on the ice to the side of the crease and was making no attempt to get back onto his feet. Knight was not close enough to him to interfere. It could be that MTU wanted a review based on the possibility that Robinson was knocked down by a Sioux player, but that didn't happen either.
  18. You may be right about the sequence Sagard, but I submit that question #1 isn't a question at all. Unless they have donned sheep's clothing, WI will dive right in. They especially like the after-the-whistle stuff. Don't take your eyes off the ice when the whistle blows.
  19. At the WI-UND series the some of the Badger players took some stupid chippy penalties that hurt them. The Sioux players did not respond in kind and nothing significant developed. At that time WI still had a reasonable chance at home ice for the playoffs and now they don't. I would expect them to do as much or more against the Gophers since they won't have anything to play for other than their dislike for MN. If the Gophers are as undisciplined as their fans are posting, they will respond, trying to prove their pseudo-physical play ability. Should be an interesting series.
  20. That could be a real chippy series.
  21. Doesn't a rotation make it difficult to reward loyal tournament attendees? Currently those who have attended the Final Five get some loyalty treatment on their seat tickets and priority for upgrades. Moving the tournament around would likely make such an arrangement at least complicated, if not impossible.
  22. That was last year's price. This year is $64 on Thursday and $74 on Friday/Saturday for a king with two adults. A room with two doubles is about $80. It is an easy drive downtown and yes, it is straight north of Hoggsbreath.
  23. We stay at the Hilton Garden Inn in Shoreview. Through Expedia it is $59 on Thursday and $69 for Friday and Saturday. Parking at the X is only $10 just two blocks away.
  24. There is also the Saturday morning brunch for SiouxSportsters at Hoggsbreath that is arranged by MafiaMan. There are usually some pretty good hockey stories told there.
