  1. There are a number of BU players that have to be sporting black and blue bruises this week for some of the shots that were blocked.
  2. It remains to be seen if they can maintain it over the season, but St. Cloud is serving notice that they are a serious contender. 3-0 over Denver, in Denver, is no easy task. And they did it without one of their best forwards.
  3. I'm an upper decker as well and I have never doubted Hakstol. Why, because I was there for part of the Rube Bjorkman saga and Hak will never be close to that.
  4. As long as they don't stumble against Fairbanks on Saturday night, this weekend could really help to build this team. 5-0 over UAA tonight with this lineup is one heck of an accomplishment.
  5. Was John Hill in the building?
  6. Final: UMD 3-1 over Notre Dame
  7. Without any regard for the legal system, the lack of ethics and common sense on the part of these ten players should shake up the entire administration from Bohl to the top. When you have something notarized (I believe that I read these were notarized signatures by the petition gatherers), you are swearing under oath that it is truthful. My only issue with the judges sentence is that he should have required a mandatory class on ethics.
  8. I am going to the Air Force exhibition game on Monday night wearing Sioux gear. You can bet I will be wearing it at The Ralph for as long as I have season tickets.
  9. So..... ignorance is a viable defense? No matter what the arguments, the pure lack of ethics in this whole mess is bothersome.
  10. "The" Mr. Parks please.
  11. I think that I just saw Lee Korso, on the ESPN pregame football show, wearing an Indian headdress, with warpaint on his face, throw a spear, decorated with feathers, into the ground. I say "I think" because I cannot believe that just happened with all that has taken place the past few years so there is a very slim possibility that I imagined the whole thing. I would expect the NCAA to complain vehemently to ESPN, unless this involves $$$ in which case the NCAA will be completely silent.
  12. I can imagine that there is very little trust at all levels of NDSU right now.
  13. Senkbeil has also not been cleared by Hakstol to participate in any hockey games at this point.
  14. If I was a ND resident, I would surely do this. Our license plate is "MNSIOUX" so I do think that we would have gone for something like this. I wonder if I could get it done in MN??
  15. This is a big deal. The right of initiative and referendum is granted to the citizens of North Dakota by the state constitution. It is a right that the citizens of most states do not have. Initiative and referendum have played a significant role in the history and culture of the citizens and the state of North Dakota. These individuals have intefered, impinged, impugned (whatever "i" word you want to use) with the rights of North Dakota citizens. That is strike one. The current estimate is that the initiated measure to create an environmental fund would result in $85 - $100 million per year. Since these individuals have caused at least a two year delay in giving voters the right to vote on the issue, that is potentially $170 - $200 million of funding lost to the environmental fund, if it is approved. That is strike two. Their actions have caused at least a two year delay in a vote on the medical marijuana issue. If this measure had been approved, they have caused at least a two-year delay in the ability of patients to receive this treatment (please note that I am not stating a position one way or the other as to whether this measure should be approved or if there are medical benefits). I am sure there are cancer patients and others that might consider this a big deal. That is strike three. The consulting firm that hired them is out at least $145,000 in revenue (assuming they do refund the payment, which they have offered to do) plus all of the expenses they incurred in the petition work. They surely can't ask for the wages back from the petition workers that actually did the work. That is strike four. The supporters of the two measures had already lined up and made partial payment on $500,000 worth of advertising media for this fall. It is doubtful they will get all of their funds returned and thus have suffered a financial hit. That is strike five. Upon conviction, these individuals have lost their right to ever work in the banking/financial/investment/mortgage industry under federal law. None of us really knows what we may wind up doing in our careers, but we certainly know what these individuals will not be able to do. And if you are wondering about this, just do a Google search about a Des Moines man losing his job at a bank for a cardboard fake dime prank he pulled in the 1960's. He was convicted of fraud (sound familiar?) and cannot even hold a minor job at a bank because of it. Strike six. At what point do you actually consider this a big deal? Maybe you aren't aware of all of these ramifications. This is a big deal.
  16. Are you saying you played football for NDSU?
  17. Maybe this wasn't in violation of any team rules!
  18. Those poor tormented NDSU players. Well, it is going to get worse before it gets better. They had better learn to suck it up. Even if they get a minor slap on the wrist for the criminal aspect, the civil aspect is sure to follow as there were significant dollars lost because of their actions. As for AD Taylor, I think his life is about to get worse as well after his latest comments. There is no way to put a PR spin on this at this point. They blew it.
  19. Stop by UND. UND ball on the 20 after punt.
  20. And the stench grows. Per KVLY-TV news tonight, it is now 10 current Bison football players out of a total of 15 people charged.
  21. They may have also wasted over $500,000 spent to line up fall advertising. I would think a lawsuit could be coming shortly.
  22. Signing and having an affadavit notarized as true when you know it is false is not an innocent mistake. It is fraud, plain and simple. Under federal regulations, if found guilty they will be forever barred from holding a job in the financial arena (i.e., banking, investments, mortgages, loans, etc)
  23. I created this game to help pass the summer non-hockey months and the response has been greatly underwhelming. Now we are barely a month away from the first exhibition game. The answers are provided below. The part of the answer that is the key word from the hint is shown in quotes. 1. Off-spring of Richard (Chris "Dickson") 2. At the end of a play you bring down the "________" (Scott "Kirten") 3. A brand of automobile manufactured in the US from about 1904-1925 (two names) (Kevin and Randy "Maxwell") 4. A common brand of lawn equipment (Troy "Murray") 5. The business of dressmaking (Tony "Couture") 6. No, he is not associated with MI6 (Joby "Bond") 7. Hmmm, is the circus coming to town? (and no, this is not Tony Hrkac) (Marty "Schriner") 8. To pour down a drink you have to "_______" back. ("Dave "Tippett") 9. Just a "______'s" throw away (Mike "Stone") 10. The business of suits. (Mark "Taylor") 11. Australian and New Zealand confectionary brand (Brad "Pascall") 12. Harry and the "___________s" (Matt "Henderson") 13. German tank (two names) (Jeff and Jay "Panzer") 14. Dennis' neighbor (Landon "Wilson") 15. "_______" Perry opened up Japan for trade with the U.S. (Mike "Commodore") 16. An elderly comic book character (Jim "Archibald") 17. A female smooch (Tony "Hrkac") 18. A lower member of royalty (Murray "Baron") 19. The weapon of Thor (Trevor "Hammer") 20. A brand of bathroom fixtures (Andy "Kollar") 21. A spotless fast food restaurant (Jeff "McLean") 22. Offspring of Dave (Lee and Brent "Davidson") 23. Slower than a runner (Howard "Walker") 24. Be "____" to yourself (Bill "Trew") 25. He was not the chairman of the Joint Chiefs of Staff during the Gulf War (Kevin "Powell") My sincere apologies to any Fighting Sioux players who do not like their clue. So there you have it. A few easy ones and some tough ones that require research.
  24. I agree with Yzerman19 for a variety of reasons. First of all, that top line needs a big body for the front of the net. That was Nelson's role, so I believe someone with some frame will be there. Hak has stated that center is Grimaldi's natural position. I believe that he will start as the third line center to take some pressure off him in the center role. It will also allow them to bring him along slowly after the knee surgery. And, if he is fully ready to go, his line could dominate an opposing team's third line and provide more scoring in that role than he might add to the top line. I do think that Grimaldi will have a slower start than many people expect, simply because he is such an unusual talent his teammates will need to get used to him. In the very few games he played last year he showed an extraordinary ability to execute a pass when it was least expected and his linemates just were not ready. They will need to learn to have their sticks ready at all times because Rocco will get them the puck. This is all at the start of the season. What happens after the first few games is anyone's guess, even moreso than this is.
  25. Season tickets arrived today!!
