Nope. Staying at your house.

5 of us will be there both nights. Looking for some Sioux Hockey.

I was hoping for Dagies to tip his hand on choices since he did so well last game, but he is evidently holding out to protect his info. So I will have to go solo on my choices. Friday - Malone Saturday - Gregoire

You also have to give credit to Martens for an incredible pass idea... over the net.

I don't disagree with you. Lammy provides a benefit on the PK, but otherwise his play has concerned me for some time. Not much production offensively and has a tendency to do some not so smart things at times. The one thing he does bring to the table is that he plays center. I think that we are little short in that position.

UNO has some very diehard fans. We may not see many UNO fans in The Ralph simply because they aren't able to get tickets, but I talked with some very dedicated fans. However, we were so warmly welcomed by the fans in Omaha that I certainly hope Sioux fans extend the same courtesy to UNO fans. I have never been to an opposing arena where we have been treated so well. I believe that they have a second-class citizen complex and they feel playing the Sioux simply helped to elevate their program. They hold the Fighting Sioux history and tradition in high regard. Their fans were rabid on Friday night, but attendance was down drastically on Saturday night because Nebraska football was on the telly. They do have some priority issues evidently. I am curious as to why UNO seems to have fallen on hard times, because they are big, fast, and physical. They also have a pretty good goalie. They were a strong test for the Sioux and drove the net in waves. Classic Dean Blais team. And yes, leave the damn cowbells in Omaha. The tiny freebies they handed out were ok, but a few people had big heavy ones and a drumstick to pound with.

In the spirit of trying to cheer up YaneA: When I bought my Blackberry I thought about the 30-year business I ran with 1800 employees, all without a cell phone that plays music, takes videos or pictures, and communicates with Facebook and Twitter. I signed up under duress for Twitter and Facebook, so my seven kids, their spouses, 13 grandkids and 2 great grand kids could communicate with me in the modern way. I figured I could handle something as simple as Twitter with only 140 characters of space. That was before one of my grandkids hooked me up for Tweeter, Tweetree, Twhirl, Twitterfon, Tweetie and Twittererific Tweetdeck, Twitpix and something that sends every message to my cell phone and every other program within the texting world. My phone was beeping every three minutes with the details of everything except the bowel movements of the entire next generation. I am not ready to live like this. I keep my cell phone in the garage in my golf bag. The kids bought me a GPS for my last birthday because they say I get lost every now and then going over to the grocery store or library. I keep that in a box under my tool bench with the Blue tooth [it's red] phone I am supposed to use when I drive. I wore it once and was standing in line at Barnes and Noble talking to my wife and everyone in the nearest 50 yards was glaring at me. I had to take my hearing aid out to use it, and I got a little loud. I mean the GPS looked pretty smart on my dash board, but the lady inside that gadget was the most annoying, rudest person I had run into in a long time. Every 10 minutes, she would sarcastically say, "Re-calc-u-lating." You would think that she could be nicer. It was like she could barely tolerate me. She would let go with a deep sigh and then tell me to make a U-turn at the next light. Then if I made a right turn instead. Well, it was not a good relationship. When I get really lost now, I call my wife and tell her the name of the cross streets and while she is starting to develop the same tone as Gypsy, the GPS lady, at least she loves me. To be perfectly frank, I am still trying to learn how to use the cordless phones in our house. We have had them for 4 years, but I still haven't figured out how I can lose three phones all at once and have run around digging under chair cushions and checking bathrooms and the dirty laundry baskets when the phone rings. The world is just getting too complex for me. They even mess me up every time I go to the grocery store. You would think they could settle on something themselves but this sudden "Paper or Plastic?" every time I check out just knocks me for a loop. I bought some of those cloth reusable bags to avoid looking confused, but I never remember to take them in with me. Now I toss it back to them. When they ask me, "Paper or Plastic?" I just say, "Doesn't matter to me. I am bi-sacksual." Then it's their turn to stare at me with a blank look. I was recently asked if I tweet. I answered, No, but I do toot a lot." Get Well YaneA

Let's assume for a moment that Yale has done something not quite in accordance with NCAA rules and the NCAA reacts to what has taken place with some type of punishment. How does that impact UND? Not one bit, with the exception that UND may climb into the #1 spot in the polls. And that gets you absolutely nothing. Winning your last four games of the year is what counts. It is time to quit thinking about Yale, because they are meaningless unless and until they meet the Fighting Sioux in the NCAA's. At that point they become meaningful.

Yes .... Somewhere between mid-bottom bottom and bottom bottom.

RMU's strength of schedule ranks 58th out of 58.
-
Robert Morris has a couple players showing up in the national scoring stats, so the Sioux cannot afford to take them lightly at all.

The game is being broadcast on channel CHXMN whatever the heck that is. Channel 87 for us.
-
Vikings game is iffy for tomorrow. NY Giants are stranded in Kansas City since MSP airport is closed. For those needing a hockey fix, BSU-WI is being televised tonight Charter Channel 416 I believe.

And don't forget Hoggsbreath this year!

MafiaMan, Check is in the mail today. Thanks.

MafiaMan, Please PM me with your address and to whom I should write a check. I had not seen this year's initial notice but was wondering about it a few weeks ago. I really like the idea of a SiouxSports sponsored team in the Twin Cities. I also enjoyed learning about last year's team at the SiouxSports brunch at Hoggsbreath at the Final Five. We need to work on that again for this year to boost the attendance and increase the number of stories.

Sorry if my comment was misunderstood. I was not being bitter about losing the Sioux name. I was trying to be a little tongue-in-cheek that RoughRiders or Rough Riders was a good choice because it is the logical choice. I think that we can do better with a new name. I don't quite see it as a logical choice and I was being a little sarcastic wondering if anyone ever thought Fighting Sioux was "logical choice" when it was selected.
-
I wonder if Fighting Sioux was ever described as logical.
-
The Rough Riders were also known as "Wood's Weary Walkers"

My criteria for a nickname: 1) Fighting Sioux, first and foremost. If that is not possible, then: 2) native to North Dakota or the very immediate region 3) name not in use by ANY other team, high school, college, pro, amateur, etc. 4) symbol/emblem not in use by ANY other team, anywhere 5) If at all possible, continue with the Kelly Green theme (and the optional black uniforms for hockey) 6) does not involve ANY input from RHHT, Phil Jackson, Leah Jeannotte, or any other anti-Sioux nickname supporter The name I still prefer involves Nokotas (Fighting, Wild, etc.) but I am open to other suggestions. Approval of the Nokota Horse Conservancy may be needed. Roughriders or Rough Riders - NO
