Methinks it was either an aberration or the Gophers. Cook's GAA for the season is just over 3.0 and their senior backup is about 3.2 on the season. It should be noted that MSU had their full team intact for the first time just a couple weeks ago so maybe that has made a difference.

We are staying at the Hilton Garden Inn in Shoreview for $59/night through Expedia. While we have to drive to the X, parking is only $10 a couple of blocks away and it is a very nice hotel. Besides, it is close to Hoggsbreath for the Saturday morning SiouxSports brunch organized by MafiaMan.

It won't happen because we've been there and done that. It did not work. Chay is not as effective because he doesn't have the room to get going. He is not as effective when he has to start out in traffic. It works best when he can start out with a little bit of open ice and build up momentum.

The guy beside me had a real one and a drumstick to pound on it. I brought ear plugs and used them, but the end of the second period I couldn't take any more. We had to move before my head split. A UNO fan from several rows behind us caught up to me on the concourse and said how impressed they were that we lasted two periods in those seats. He said those seats are usually empty by 5 minutes into the game because of that cowbell. The UNO fans around him don't like it either. We have the same seats for tonight, but will not even start there.

Mr. and Mrs. Siouxman, Keikla, and Southpaw will be in Omaha. -
I believe that you are incorrect on that point. The rule was changed just a couple of years ago. You cannot simply check the player when both of you are heading for the puck. That is interference. You are allowed to work for position, but you cannot check the player.
-
That rule has been on the books for decades. I remember Mike Stone (now you know how long I have been around) for the Sioux getting the same penalty for a shot after the whistle. The shot came long after the whistle and was well deserved. The Sioux players knew it too as they went after the Denver player. It is not a makeup call. It was completely valid.

How about the Sioux Fans matching this class and sending Jesse a ton of get well cards. Has anyone seen an address for him?

We will be in Colorado Springs this weekend. Anyone know a place down there that usually shows the Sioux games?

There is a great USAF air museum just west of Omaha a few miles right along I-80 for those into aircraft. Includes an SR-71, B-17, B-24, B-36, B-52, and many other fighters and aircraft. They have a couple of flight simulators there as well.

Bob, I don't use Priceline because I cannot guarantee a non-smoking room through them. Do you know a way to guarantee non-smoking?

The Omaha Hilton is across the street and connected to the Qwest Center. I got a room for $103/night plus $10 for parking. They require advance pay and no changes for that rate. Parking at the Qwest Center will cost you more than at the Hilton, so that is a savings of a few bucks.

Heck, might even get a room with two beds.

Got our tickets at UNO at 10:15 am this morning. Section 205 (center ice upper deck), second row. There were some lower deck available tucked up high in a corner, but went for the better view. Tickets are $19 each, and no extra fees.

You might want to do a background check first.

There are 6 overage players fighting for three spots, so that is a 1 out of 2 chance, 50-50

I doubt that it would be before the end of the fall semester after he has received his fall grades. Grades during the semester don't improve your GPA until they are final.

I thought Keikla was already booked through you!

Whoopie!! We got the letter. 4 tickets!

IMO the Gophers have never been strong defensively. (yes, they have had some good defensemen, but not a good full defensive corp). They were strong offensively and maintained a high pressure offense that put the other team on its heels. A team on its heels has a difficult time generating any offense at all, and therefore your defensive numbers look good. Any game where their high pressure offense wasn't clicking, then they would struggle defensively. They would also struggle against teams with a high pressure offense. Now, their high pressure offense is no longer present and their weak defense is super exposed. If Kangas hadn't had a stellar second half of the year a few years ago, they would have had a horrible season. He saved their butt, despite their poor defense. Their attitude has always been offense first, and a good enough defense to get by. That is the opposite of what many teams do.

Hey, I ignored him first!

It is a blast going over on GPL and reading what the Gopher fans have to say and what is going on with their program. First, over the weekend an imposter opened a Twitter account under the name of Alex Kangas and trash talked Gopher fans and alumni. Quite a few GPL posters ripped into Kangas for a bad attitude before Kangas actually posted that the Twitter account was not him (it was a friend of his- some friend). Then just as the posters were busy retracting their anti-Kangas posts, the news item broke about a Gopher forward failing two drug tests over the summer. And then there is the talk of kidnapping the UNO coaching staff when they come to Mariucci and force them to coach the Gophers. It is like a soap opera.

If he had left earlier, maybe his hunting dog would still be alive.
