  1. Is anyone else having trouble with the feed freezing? We get to watch about 2 minutes and then it freezes for 5-6 minutes before we get to see maybe 2 minutes of hockey before it freezes again.
  2. How long has it been since they had a hockey game at Smoothie King agena? We do not want another situation like we had with the Target Center where it took them several years to get back into hockey arena mode and even then they didn't do a good job of it.
  3. Any future opportunities might depend on what the "unacceptable conduct" was.
  4. He is from side to side, its from end to end where the trouble arises.
  5. I watched the last 10 minutes of this game and the steel beams and ceiling look like they are covered with mold or dirt. Absolutely filthy looking place, a biological hazard.
  6. We were there several years ago. It seems to me that we were parked very close to the arena, but I do not remember exactly where. We arrived quite early for the game, before the doors opened and just followed the vehicles in the area.
  7. There is a great Air Force museum at the airport. Of course, I am an Air Force veteran, but it was very enjoyable.
  8. The biggest difference to me is the area from which most shots are being taken. The past two years it was from the point and UND was almost nonexistent in front of the net. This year, we are having very few shots by defensemen at the point unless they are taken with someone near the net and the intent is to get a tip. The focus of the offense is down in front of the net, not out at the point. Second, we are seeing far more passes cross ice without sending it out the point, then across to the other point, and then down to the forward, and then repeat in the opposite direction. It shortens the time the goalie has to move across the net front. Third, the scoring is being led by forwards, not defensemen. I like having defensemen score, but that should not be the emphasis of the team.
  9. I think a very telling statistic would be if anyone can compare the percentage of shots from the point this year compared to last year. We have gone from literally no net front presence and bombing slap shots from the point last year to most of our shots are now from close in around the net. A huge difference.
  10. I believe the difference is in coaching and the systems being coached. The style of play this year is entirely different than the past couple of years.
  11. That is still better than leaving on time but not arriving!
  12. Have tickets for this weekend. And no, I don't expect to be causing trouble unless IceArenaMan brings it to me.
  13. And if they did check under your coat and found something you just went outside, changed coats, hats, and glasses with someone else and came right back in, lacking whatever you previously had under your coat of course.
  14. We were there for the latest Wisconsin series and had a great time. Many Wisconsin fans thanked us for coming and mentioned that they miss playing UND every year. They didn't talk quite that nicely about Gophers and their fans.
  15. There is a restaurant/bar just north of the arena. We would go there for supper and leave our vehicle parked there while we went to the game. Thus we didn't have to pay for parking. We would head downtown after the game. Our son would take us to a small bar (I can't remember the name), but it was a Green Bay Packers fan place (He is a Packer Fan). For things to do in the area, Garden of the Gods is good, you can go to the Air Force Academy and look at the aircraft there (especially the A-10 Warthog), drive up the mountain to Pike's Peak, and Cave of the Winds at Manitou Springs. There is much more to look at, just do a search on the internet.
  16. Back in the day we made it a goal to get to every WCHA arena. We were down to our last one, Alaska Anchorage, left to get to when the NCHC appeared. We have been to every NCHC arena. We had a good time at Kalamazoo (they have a great Air Force museum at the airport). Their fans really get into it and the students have some great chants. Miami has a nice arena, although a bit small. The downtown Miami area was really crowded for parking after the game. We actually stayed on the north end of Cincinnati and on Saturday headed to Dayton to tour the USAF museum. We've been to CC and Denver many times. Denver is usually 50% UND fans in the arena. We still go to Duluth, Omaha, and the NCHC tournament every year. We have been to every WCHA tournament since 2002 until the NCHC was formed and have been to every one of those tournaments. The one trip that I miss from the WCHA days is Michigan Tech in Houghton. That was always a good time.
  17. I was thinking it would be more like: Berry thinking: "What the heck am I doing?" Mafiaman thinking: "What the heck, another one of my so-called friends making a prank call!"
  18. The silence could be quite intense, or embarrassing, depending how you look at it.
