The stadium opened in 2004 according to this article in the Star Tribune.

UND lost to Northern Illinois 23-17 at Northern Illinois. Minnesota lost to Northern Illinois 34-23 in Minneapolis. Minnesota beat the University of Illinois 38-34 at Illinois. Not sure where there's a moral victory anywhere in there.

That would be an accurate description. The other is an insult. I have no problem with physically mature, I've earned it.

You don't know me and you don't know whether I yell or not. You are making assumptions, not using facts. I'm not going to get into the atmosphere discussion again because it has been done to death here. I just think it's amazing that other teams talk about coming to play at the Ralph and looking forward to the building and the great atmosphere, yet people like you continually put it down. And it might be time for you to grow up a little bit and knock off the name-calling and the insults. You're welcome to your opinion on the atmosphere, but quit with the "geezers" and "Depends" jokes.

Midcontinent only operates in South Dakota, North Dakota and Minnesota, and not all areas of any of them. The decisions on which road games to pick up depend on things like ability to get the signal and costs. A lot of the local broadcasts are sent by hard wire or by relays like the NDSU football games on North Dakota NBC stations. UND games use a satellite to broadcast the signal. If the location of the game doesn't have that technology it either isn't possible or it would cost a lot of money to set up a temporary broadcast. They don't make a huge amount on advertising for each broadcast, so they can't afford to broadcast a lot of road games if the costs are going to be too high. And the rights to broadcast are a separate issue. If someone else is putting the broadcast together they own the rights. Sometimes they don't want to release the rights. It isn't just as simple as saying we want to put the game on the air so let's do it.

Bill Belichick was 20-28 in his first 3 years as a head coach in the NFL. He's had a pretty good career since then. Most head coaches nees a few years to learn the job if they don't have previous head coaching experience..

Listen junior, there are people at the Ralph who are there for the social aspects. There are people like that in most venues. But many of us "old geezers" have been going to UND hockey games since before you were born. We are hockey fans and we go to watch the games. We may or may not yell and scream as much as you would like. But we are fans, just as much as you are. I get a little tired of you and a few others that keep referring to the crowd in the insulting manner that you do. And you may not have realized it, but the new Ralph has developed a reputation as one of the best crowds in college hockey. A lot of teams want to play there not only for the building, but for the atmosphere. So I think it's about time you knock off the insults of the "old geezers" at the Ralph.

Either Devils Lake is gaining boys in grades 7-12, or schools that had more are losing more boys in those grades. It has nothing to do with success on the field. Devils Lake would be moving up if they were winless the last 3 years. I believe that there may be a provision so that schools can play up a level if they choose. It's similar to Roseau playing up a level in Minnesota high school hockey.

Not even close to a record. A lot of option teams over the years had less completions in a game. At all levels of football from what is now BCS down to Division III and NAIA. And a week ago you had this stat line. You're probably wondering where that came from. It was the entire passing attack for Kansas State when they played Texas on November 6, 2010. Oh yeah, Kansas State won by a score of 39-14. Edit: Texas managed 2 sacks for 11 yards in this game. So the K State passing offense resulted in -2 yards.

That's because they are brothers. I have heard both of them refer to the other.

It could very well happen. I think it depends on how they have looked in practice throughout the fall. Have they looked like they have a chance to compete? Have they made improvements throughout the fall? Are they learning the offense and do they look like they can transfer it to the field? Have they been lifting and are they getting stronger? Some people make progress faster than others. It's possible that one of them could step right in at the beginning of the season next year. And it's possible that they may need some more time to adjust. Only coaches that have watched them every day have a chance to make that decision.

UND has a solid running back group as long as they stay healthy and academically eligible. Only Harden has proven himself at wide receiver, while McGill has shown some good potential. A few others have had a couple of good catches but very little else. So I hope that 1 or 2 of the redshirts can be productive early. Both Goska and Hendrickson are more athletes than quarterbacks. Goska can run and seems to have some decent instincts, but isn't a good passer. Hendrickson can run and has a pretty strong arm, but so far doesn't seem to be able to figure out the passing game. If a couple of quarterbacks can be found, Hendrickson would be better suited for either receiver or running back. Both Demler and Comes had good success in high school, we need to hope that they can transfer that success to the FCS level. Since neither has had a chance to prove themselves at the college level, there is probably a good chance that we will see a Juco QB coming in this winter. It would also be nice if a tight end could step up and make some regular catches.
-
You expect someone to be upset because their team won by 30 points???
-
Goska was recruited under Lennon. Hendrickson was part of the class that was part Lennon and part Mussman. Take your pick on how to assign that one. Personally, I throw out that class because of the change in coaches and when it happened. I don't know how the actual recruiting happened with either QB, but I normally assign credit and blame to the head coach.
-
Montana has a shutdown corner that will have a shot at playing on Sundays. He was playing man on Harden all day. Harden is the only receiver that has shown much so far this year. So you had 2 quarterbacks that can't throw trying to get the ball to receivers that can't catch. And even Harden dropped at least 1 or 2 that he had a shot at. It wasn't a good combination.
-
Lennon was the head coach when the juniors and seniors on this team were being recruited. Lennon left during the middle of the recruiting for this year's sophomore class. IIRC, some of the top rated recruits that year decided to go to Southern Illinois or elsewhere after Lennon left. The redshirt freshmen from this year were the first full recruiting class that came in under Mussman. Mussman has been handicapped by the transition and the lack of a conference. UND isn't going to fire him this year. He has at least 1 more year, and maybe 2 depending on the results next year.
-
Most coaches would prefer to not have a redshirt quarterback starting. I believe that's why Mussman mentioned possibly looking at a Juco. One of the coaches (I think it was one of the coache) said it all right at halftime, one quarterback can't pass the ball and the other one can't figure out where he's supposed to pass it.

FSSN or Fox College Sports on Dish Network?

The latest information I've heard is that it is only available on local cable in Wisconsin. That means it isn't available on any satellite system. -
The last information I heard was that they hadn't made a decision yet. But that was probably several months ago, so it may have changed. They were looking at different options to see what was best overall.
-
That's nice. But I think that you're a little confused. You will probably find some interested people on an NDSU board instead of a UND board. Don't worry, it's an easy mistake to make. Thanks for the report, and thanks for your interest in UND athletics.

Mine looks correct. It says that you posted at 7:08 PM. I am in the Central with DST checked also.

The following quotes are from Colonel Shaffer, base commander, in this GF Herald article earlier this week.

I kind of figured it was something like that from a couple of comments. I was out there on a tour with the Chamber of Commerce and just repeating what I saw and heard, plus what I have read in the Herald.

My take was that he may want someone to hold the position for a year or 2 until either Demler or Comes was ready. A lot of coaches don't like to put a freshman, even a redshirt freshman, in as a starter right away. One of the 2 guys playing quarterback this year is probably the starter at the beginning of next year. Either Demler or Comes could take over that position during the year, or during the following offseason, if they are ready. A JC QB would be in the mix for next year with the current 2 guys.
