  1. Turtle River State Park. They used to have a ski hill there with a chalet and everything.
  2. I believe that SiouxMD was reporting on what was said in the press conference. So that would probably be Athletic Director Brian Faison saying that UND has a full 2011 football schedule.
  3. The 4 o'clock starts are great when there is nothing else going on in town. But the 1 o'clock is better when there is hockey or another major event. Even homecoming plus the concert at the REA on the same night made it tough for a lot of people. But I make it to most of them unless I have to work, so the start time isn't that important to me.
  4. I don't believe that anyone with any authority is talking about firing a coach. A fan on an sports bulletin board overreacted and started a thread that has gone way beyond what it should have been. Isn't that the purpose of sports bulletin boards, to overreact?
  5. UND still has a couple of years of transition, so they won't make the playoffs until they finish those. But I'm pretty sure that NDSU has been eligible for a couple of years now. They have, haven't they? How has that gone so far? They may have to win out this season to make the playoffs. Do you think they're going to do that? If not, that still leaves the door open for UND to make it first. What was the joke again? You didn't answer my question about Fargodome playoff games. What is NDSU's record in Fargodome playoff games? Is that the great tradition that you're so proud of?
  6. The only one you're making look ridiculous is yourself. Of course you do help make the rest of Bisonville look bad too when you go out and act the fool.
  7. I'm pretty sure that UND still has a chance to make the FCS playoffs before the mighty Bison. After all, NDSU has been playoff eligible for a couple of years now and hasn't come close. They will have to win a couple of games here soon to get it done this year. I'm not going to get too excited if a transition team has a losing record. By the way, what is the NDSU playoff record for games hosted in the Fargodome?
  8. Can I go over to Bisonville and find something stupid you've said so I can post it here repeatedly? I'm pretty sure that it wouldn't be too hard. Even other posters on Bville seem to get tired of the things you post over there.
  9. How many homes can pick up NDSU games on statewide NBC? Really, I'd like to know.
  10. I don't believe anyone said that all the football games were televised better than NDSU. I think you're making up arguments in your head again. 3 football games are being televised nationwide (that means statewide in North Dakota plus statewide for all of the other 49 states) on Fox College Sports. That makes it available in more than 64 million homes. They are also broadcast on Midcontinent cable which covers most of North Dakota, South Dakota and part of Minnesota. The South Dakota game was also broadcast on the Midcontinent cable network. Those are the games I know off the top of my head, some of the others may have been broadcast on television. The game last night was not available locally on television. It was a road game from California. It was available on a free webcast. Sorry you missed it.
  11. Sorry to disappoint you. I don't post on any other school's board. I do go and read some others to find out what others are thinking. But I'm not crass and obtuse enough to go on another board and take shots at the people that post on those boards. I do take offense at you calling people idiots. Whether you believe it or not, people do care about hockey. We know that you don't. Probably not everyone on egriz cares about hockey. But it is an important part of the UND athletic department. If makes more money and brings more attention than any other sport at UND. It is the reason that UND has a contract with Fox College Sports for football, men's and women's basketball, women's hockey and volleyball. Does NDSU have national TV coverage for any of those sports? I don't think they do.
  12. Good for NDSU. It doesn't mean that the entire conference isn't mediocre. And I believe that NDSU is 2 3 in that mediocre conference. Not exactly bragging material. And you hoping that UND beats Montana doesn't add anything to the conversation. I think your reading comprehension could use some work. Or maybe you need to review the meanings to works like "mediocre", "add" and "comprehension".
  13. Current overall records of the teams in the Missouri Valley Football Conference: Missouri Valley Conference Overall Northern Iowa 4 3 Western Illinois 5 3 South Dakota State 3 4 Indiana State 4 3 Illinois State 4 4 Missouri State 3 4 Southern Illinois 3 4 N. Dakota St. 5 3 Youngstown State 3 5 Total is 1 game over .500 if my math is correct. That looks like the definition of a mediocre conference so far this year. Whether Dale coaches in the league or not isn't a factor in whether the league itself is mediocre. Have you ever added anything to a conversation on this board or do you just like coming over here to take shots?
  14. Gosh, imagine that. Some guy posting on a sports bulletin board was wrong about something. Has that ever happened before?
  15. Let's see, UND played a game on the road against their toughest FCS opponent so far this year. The opponent is currently ranked anywhere from 20-23 in different polls. They were at 13 a week ago before they lost to SUU at SUU. An opponent that beat perennial FCS football power Montana already this year. UND loses by 1 point. They missed a field goal with less than 5 minutes to play and had the ball driving in the last minute of the game. And this is the game that makes you think the coach nees to be fired. There isn't an athletic director in the country that would fire a coach because of last night's loss.
  16. You are correct. I wasn't paying attention to the picks since I was eliminated the first round (like normal for me).
  17. You can only use a player once in each game. That's why it gets tougher as you go along, the most logical players get used in the first 3 or 4 rounds and you end up using lower probability players as you go along. When the next game starts you can start over using players.
  18. I know that they have had deals with Delta (Northwest) in the past. I don't know what they are doing right now. But that is part of the reason that I think they were probably flying out of Fargo because of schedule. Fargo gets more flights in and out than Grand Forks. They probably got a better connection that allowed them to leave later in the day by going through Fargo on this trip.
  19. It is usually a similar price out of Grand Forks versus out of Fargo. I know that UND flies out of Grand Forks as much as possible. But there are probably times when there is a price difference or times when the schedule works much better to fly out of Fargo. My guess is that the schedule worked better in this case.
  20. I'm not a big fan of polls at all. They are just an opinion. I don't think that polls in the first half of the season have any meaning at all. But if a team is ranked near the top of the polls at the beginning of the season I don't think you can start knocking them down the polls just because they haven't played yet. Should a team lose standing in a poll just because they have a bye week in the middle of the season? The ECAC teams have started with a couple of bye weeks.
  21. Half of the ECAC hasn't played a game yet. They usually start after everyone else.
  22. Brewster is getting $200,000 each of the next 3 years as his buyout according to one source, other sources have just given the total amount of $600,000 and didn't say how it would be paid. They plan to pay their next coach in the neighborhood of $2,000,000 per year (not a bad neighborhood) and are planning on a 5-7 year contract, so 10% of that per year for 3 years to pay off Brewster isn't a huge amount.
  23. It has nothing to do with Midcontinent. The local Fox affiliate doesn't have the equipment to broadcast the games in HD. They ordered it this past summer and originally planned to have it in place before the NFL season started. It sounds like something has prevented that from happening.
  24. Check your carrier and look for CBS College Sports as a channel. Their schedule should tell you if they carry it, and which package it is part of. Some will have it as part of the package they already have, some may include it as part of a sports package. For instance, Direct TV has it as part of most TV packages, except the more basic (Choice). But you can order it as part of the Sports package if you have Choice.
  25. UND made the trip to Europe at least once several years ago. I don't remember what year, but you could probably find it in the media guide.
