  1. That 5 min "powerplay" was probably one of the weakest efforts in all of UND history. What the @#$()%&?
  2. Shots officially 9-2 in UND's favor. But, I don't think 9 is enought. UND needs to get 35 or more in order to score some garbage goals with traffic, IMO.
  3. Interview during the break: All 4 officials in this game have worked the Frozen Four. Glad to hear it.
  4. My take on the 1st: UND dominated 5 X 5. Cornell dominated 5 x 3. However, UND did not get enough shots, nor did they work their way into the net hard enought.
  5. Farce, you are ever the clown!
  6. The feed just went dead, right? Edit: It switched to the hockey link, now.
  7. They have bleacher seats - funny. Not exaclty a packed house yet.
  8. Looks like they might have just one camera (no replays?). We shall see.
  9. And Ben Blood cost us the game with his stupid 4 min double-minor. What the hell was he doing? Undisciplined play, and sloppy passing, toghether with an attitude that still seems to think they are better than everybody else (why else do they get outworked in the crucial moments for the last 5 weeks?) is dooming this team to the lowest ranks of the WCHA. Weak peformance tonight. No excuses. Just %*()+_$(% WEAK!
  10. Typical Hakstol team - for all his intensity, they can't seem to find thier arses with a road map before X-mas. Tonight's game was just a $)(%* train wreck to watch.
  11. An interesting point. I felt that watching tonight's game was a waste of time. They played well for the first two periods, then seemed to get into that "play defensively" mode that never seems to work for UND. At least not for the last nine seasons. Come on, UND. When you've got a team down, how about a little killer instinct!
  12. Hak's comments: Good win. We started OK, but took a few weak penalties, and that hurt us. Second period was good; Very happy with the third period. One of the things Tech does well is a "D" and a forward will pinch on the same puck to create an odd man situation. We just have to be aware and not let them get an advantage with what they want to do. Happy with the young guys on defense (Gleason & MacWilliam) Toews was one of the better players all weekend Loved Trupp's goal, but Toews protected the puck and created
  13. Great to get a sweep, especially when wearing the black jerseys. I love the streaks they get going in the black!
  14. Player of the game to Malone, according to TH. Good to hear. Looking only at the video feed, I didn't get that he had the assits, etc. Good job.
  15. Roughneck performance of the game goes to...MacWilliam. Just like the post-game comments last night said UND should do (stand up for fellow players).
  16. Sioux looked a little flat in the first period. but slowly built their game over the next two. That , I think, means alot on a night where Hak decided to dress they boys in black.
  17. Anybody got the internet pregame? It does not appear to be working.
  18. This should be a non-issue, after reading Brad's Blog today. St. Clair clearly says that he made the decision on his own, and that he jumped the gun on committing to CC in the first place.
  19. UND needed a big payday to help the program pay for itself. The $250K or so that they will clear from this trip will pay for most of the travel costs to the other 5 road games. So, even getting trounced in Texas is a good thing.
  20. Nice article on Marto, which brings me to ponder the experience level of this year's team. Given the starting lineup that I would expect to see nightly, this team rates a 2.2 on the experience scale (1.0 being all freshmen, 4.0 being all seniors), similar to the 2005-6 and 2006-7 teams that both made the Frozen Four. The lowest rating in recent memory was in 2001-2, when UND had a losing record with a 1.9 average. Anytime you dip below 2.0, you are in trouble. So, even though this team is younger than UND has fielded the last few years, they have great offensive talent in the young guys, and they could make some noise this year. Defensively, UND is pretty experienced - I would only expect one freshman to play on a given night, especially in critical games. Those two things combined could make for a very good season. Go Sioux !
  21. If Knight is the replacement, then I'd have to say this year's freshman class of forwards is about as good as it gets, as a whole. AJHL ROY (Knight), Playoff MVP (Rowney), and two USHL All-Stars who were both at the World Juniors camp. Not bad.

I haven't seen this elsewhere, so here is a link to a Herald article today: http://www.grandforksherald.com/event/arti...64/group/Sports
  23. Exactly. Be careful what you wish for - if the people of Grand Forks would put up with snobbiness, and the prices that go along with it, the character of the entire region would have to change. Why make Grand Forks like every big city in America? Believe me (from someone who has worked in corporate headquarters in several cities), its not that great in the big city, and the $50 steaks are not really worth it, even though they do taste great. I really miss having season tickets to Sioux hockey.
  24. I do this every season. Usually, I'm not too far off. For 2009-10, I've got them with a record of 22 - 11 - 3, which is only the regular season, of course. Given that UND did not lose anyone early, and given the talent level of the incoming forwards, I would expect this team to do well. They could be the sleeper team of 2009.
  25. Knight's star is rising pretty quickly, so I assume he will be coming next season. But, anyone have new thoughts/insight into whether Mattson or Rowney will be here?
